  2. Debunking a Creator

bump RF and simplejack often 'like' their own posts. confidence is a good thing.
  3. Debunking a Creator

thanks for the responses simplejack and rongzomfan. if someone will alert me when " a definite and conclusive answer to this thread was resolved" does rigpa(knowledge) relate to rational thought? if so, how?
  4. Debunking a Creator

  9. Debunking a Creator

Vaj did cross my mind a few pages back. and Vaj woulda changed the dynamic of this thread. i hope Vaj is doing great where ever he is. but RF is RF and Vaj is Vaj. 2 very differently styled bums. different pov's. both are, what is that word? edutaining ? so i slept like 11 hours, i needed it, finals and all, and this morning , no reports at all, let alone on this thread. i know bums can find away to fiercely debate and self moderate, well done bums, carry on
  10. Debunking a Creator

i am seeing a glitch. i tried to quote RF and it gave me your post, more than once. let me notify a tech. on the trolling, this is always a difficult call, spam is an easier call but the spam here could be the glitch i experienced. there are a couple of things i would like to highlight but i am getting glitched. interesting. in the meanwhile RongzomFan be mindful of trolling your own thread
  11. Debunking a Creator

"A truely eternal being is beyond cause and effect, and would have no way of interacting with our universe." this makes no sense, offer proof please.
  12. Debunking a Creator

  13. Debunking a Creator

    can you define afflicted experience?
  14. Debunking a Creator

do you feel that logic and rationalism is equipped to settle the OP?
  15. Debunking a Creator

simple jack, did i see where you said "that Dharmic religions consider it unnecessary to posit a creator god in order to understand the nature of afflictions." ?
  16. Debunking a Creator

i prefer this thread stay out of the pit. there have been calls to pit it. i have resisted that. i am hopeful you bums can keep it up top.
  17. Debunking a Creator

very interdisciplinary of you gatito. holding to one branch of thought doesnt seem very useful from my pov. it does seem rather limiting.
  18. Debunking a Creator

"These are reasonable questions." and where are the reasonable answers?
  19. the imf is the ultimate oligarchy with the goal of putting everyone in debt, ok, not everyone, but if you happen to live where there are natural resources, developing country, they are gonna try and bury you under debt so they can hold that 'power' over you to see things their way. when all is said and done, you will be left in debt and all of your resources extracted. the easy crack credit for the rest of us is for distraction purposes. like the fellow said about the 4 minute mark in ralis first video, 'needs updated'. http://www.upworthy.com/bail-out-the-bankers-iceland-arrested-them-and-look-what-happened banksters, the united states of goldman sachs?
  20. sometimes that formula works but there is always this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G%C3%B6del%27s_incompleteness_theorems and http://thetaobums.com/topic/12639-flying-phoenix-chi-kung/page-114?hl=%2Bflying+%2Bphoenix#entry425722 and that thread had its fair share of trolling and i just used it as a prime example, there are many others(often older threads) to be a tao bums taoist you must know how to sift thru the chaff even on some of the most outlandishly trolling threads there can be found gem nuggets even sometimes when someone does post a gem nugget, then certain trolls try to buryit//hide it by rapid fire troll back and forth posts ignoring the gem and perhaps with the intent to hide the gems? i have wondered about this for awhile
  21. Debunking a Creator

cause and effect could be creator and creation
  22. mystical poetry thread

inspiring stuff for sure. i agree about his Tao-like attributes, humbleness, simplicity, enduring, calm and so on and so forth. i just watched the movie Searching for Sugar Man last night. he never committed suicide and still lives according to wiki, (he is probably immortal anyways) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sixto_Rodriguez but it was a cool idea and shows how legends can develop. and i didnt want to spoil in case anyone was gonna watch the movie hehehe but its cool , when south africa learned that sixto was alive they immediately booked him for a concert and it sold out 6 shows in advance , even if everyone who bought a ticket was convinced that sixto was indeed dead, but they were that curious to see who would step in as the imposter. the 51 minute video i posted was his second flopped album. all those years some record label exec was collecting the royalties from south africa sixto worked hard labor temp jobs in detroit. interestingly (again) his song Cause tells how he lost his job 2 weeks before christmas and later that year just as predicted he recieved the news the label had dropped him on dec 11 nothing like reality, i reckon
  23. mystical poetry thread

a highly unlikely and remarkable tale of a mystical poet when something is more than true,, it is poetry, no? a brief synopsis: circa 1970, record producers had been hearing of a mysterious inner city poet/singer in detroit, they found him playing in some dive, singing to the corner, back to the audience, a lil strange but they liked the lyrics and the sound and decided to cut an album with high hopes they had found another dylan(of course that comparison is always a kiss of death, and i thought he reminded me of jim croce, but that isnt fair to croce or rodriguez either, sixto has his own unique sound/style) anyways the record flopped, it had received good reviews but no one bought it. still record producers were so sure they had found the real thing with rodriguez they decided to cut a second album, another major flop,, and end of story but not quite in 1972 in Apartheid south africa someone snuck in a bootleg copy of sixto's Cold Fact south africa at that time was under the strictest of censorship but Cold Fact quickly spread thru cape town and 3 record labels there decided to print and distribute the album. yes, demand was that huge and stayed that way for 25 years---without sixto ever knowing about this--- the mystery grew into legend and the legend into myth as often happens ,,,,well maybe not as often happens, becoz had anything like this ever happened? anyways there was the story of how sixto committed suicide on stage, presumably becoz he was aware of his immense talent and message that no one ever listened to,,,,,,,,,,,did he set himself on fire on stage, or did he shoot himself,, there were conflicting accounts of the suicide. sixto's music in south africa provided courage to the people that they could stand up against the political machinery of pw botha and effect social change. how big was sixto in south africa? bigger than the rolling stones and elvis combined. 6 and 7 year old children knew the lyrics to all of his songs type of thing. have any of you bums ever heard of sixto?
