I am saddened that Original Dao may be folding. Some of those members were early members here. And my wish was for Original Dao to flourish into longevity.

These are absolutely valid concerns. I hope I addressed them sufficiently in my above post where I quoted your initial post. My guess is that you are not alone as a member here, wondering if some horde of attackers are fast approaching. I expect us as a Community to cross those bridges when faced by them. I remain open minded towards bridge repair and if we must burn a bridge here or there, may it be to light our way.

Over on Original Dao, they have a similar set up. We considered their sub-forum model before we installed the same idea here. So, this will be an area we need to closely monitor. I appreciate you speaking up on this and it is something that we need to be aware of.

Sometimes, civil wars end. It is always a difficult challenge to remind one another the things we share in common and to look at those qualities rather than the things that can potentially tear us apart and have indeed torn us apart. @ralis you are an Elder among us in many aspects. You have never wavered in defense of the ideals you believe in. You have fought the good fight. There come times when an opportunity for Peace presents itself. Those rare opportunities should not be rejected. With the world being in the state of ever expanding hostilities, any step towards Peace carries weight. In the past you have asked me to be fair and I do try. Now, I return that same request to you. All we can do is try, the alternative is to not try. Here on The Dao Bums we never not try. All I ask is for you and all bums to give a fair try. This shows how fragile online communities can be. We here on The Dao Bums are fortunate to still being up and functioning after a few serious existential threats that we have experienced along the way. The way can be rough and rocky mixed in with slip slides and quicksand. For those out and about wandering looking for a place to rest and enjoy discussions on the way, and understand that being here is a privilege, I say open the gate. I've had times when I prefer to not be indoors, lighting at the same place. I've been in the wind element and it is healthy. That eating thing, if it is not directly, can still lead to bad habits.

I was a born beatnik, boomer middle class generation, they (we, in my case) were in a unique advantaged US economy, those days are long gone. No amount of nostalgia or angst will cause a return to that era. Sell out to the corporate Industrial complex ?, just make sure you didn't sell yourself short, that still applies: I chose not to sell out, and in some instances, but not all, have limited financial returns due to my choice. I savor the most I had any choice, because far too many have none. I made the right choice for me. And the door is always? open, if I decided to strike some deal. So far, I haven't felt I needed to.

Bingo !! This is the type of post that pushes the envelope towards moderation. And I am only one mod, to be sure, yet one that tends to act a little quicker and perhaps “somewhat unpredictable” It is fine to question everything. Being a skeptic for skeptic’s sake is fine. State that you see no value in a particular system/style/school if you feel you need to comment along those lines. However, with this post, and from what I’ve seen in limited readings of your posts from other threads; you have crossed a line or two or more and are in violation of the rules IMO also IMO you are in violation of the spirit of this forums rules. And that from my perspective is a more serious matter. You will be sanctioned, handed restrictions, which I will post a bit later. I need a little time to think it over, at least three minutes or so. perhaps another mod will speak on this, perhaps not. I will detail the issues that concern me on the subsequent post of mine. I try and keep it friendly, so a bit of advice. And I will share that I myself have been sanctioned in the past due to a post that I made on. Mo pai thread a few years back. My free advice is try to avoid any knee jerk reaction. There is no need for you to try and defend your post. Stay relaxed and absorb the sanction. Learn from it. Adjust in a positive fashion after reading my next post on this.
