there was a ppf created for drew and his attention brought to that in hopes he could take the hint. the fukishima and bow hunting threads at least are in the pit and not in generaL discussion or off-topic. at the time we created his ppf, there were a few other things going on and it got put on a back burner. that does happen here.we'll see what other mods think about this.

this morning was the closest i have ever been to a bluejay. we were standing within 3 ' of each other by a spruce tree. you would think at some point some bluejay woulda swooped in on me sometime , but they never have. altho a couple of times flown perilously close to the windshield of my jeep.......... stosh, great call on the merganser, on further digging i found this and yeppers its the bird

not a merganser, it was more kingfisherish than duck, but it is ducklike and looked to be one smooth water fowl. but it isnt a regular kingfisher either. i hope to catch it with my camera this weekend when i return home. head looked similar to a kingfishers but not exactly body in flight looked like a mini-duck

yesterday a couple of interesting bird encounters. one of the cat birds came by fussing at me in front of my company even. i know the cat birds might be upset about my neighbor((who doesnt even live there)) cropping way back the hedge on our property line. the cat birds had numerous nests in the upper parts of that hedge. there is still the back line hedge and the other side untouched, but the cat birds moved on. i explained to this upset bird , who it wasnt me that did the cutting. the bird left on a -yeah whatever type of note. i did see a bird that resembled something of a king fisher and miniature duck cross?

deci, in a ppf, people can reply if the originator/mod of the ppf has not locked the topic/thread. if the topic is open to receive replies, then the originator/mod could choose to allow the post to stand or to hide it. the originator/mod can also hide entire threads and later could choose to have them re-appear. you could open a ppf just for the purpose of test driving, pushing the buttons etc my idea is to allow these same controls that exist in the ppf already to be extended to the contributed articles area. i also want to point out that this is an idea and in the initial idea stage, i opened this thread for input of criticism or ideas about this idea. i posted here in tech support becoz , this is where a member can suggest or ask about features on The Tao Bums site. any final conversations on this idea will take place in the area where mods , engineer, and technicians, sean and trunk would be involved in.

when you bring her into the conversation, isnt it considered polite and attentive to inquire about her? speaking to the op, i reckon it depends on what you are calling enlightenment. dissatisfaction could be viewed in certain instances as a virtue. i do not see how moping and bemoaning could ever be a virtue. if you discard your high connections and your wealth and embark on some worthwhile journey relying only on yourself and what you have learned with your well-educated studies and from your spiritual teacher then maybe one day you will find your empathy. any thoughts?

" i am not trying to over work the technicians, so this is encouraging news. there would be some organizing of the articles already in CA section? i like the idea of a ppf style mod system as opposed to anyone modding an article that they did not create. part of the reason this discussion is taking place is that the ppf's are hidden from public view and the ca's are in public view. i know this has already been mentioned but it is a major point of consideration. also an article could be about anything and not just a personal practice. i understand that ppf's are also used for things other than personal practice--but there is a reason we place our posts in a ppf, one of those reasons is the not in public view thing. articles not wishing to be publicly viewed could be placed in a ppf and articles wanting public view placed in a ca section, so the only change is granting protections that are already given in a ppf to the ca section. i know i am being redundant- hopefully for the sake of clarity this new idea could be a way to allow less stewarding and less modding, just sayin
