a truly resourceful bum is never ever bored. i reckon we are just truly resourceful. i dont think we can get the views and replies to rival that dying thread, but our content certainly will.

gerard, who also plays bagua has spoken highly of another type of walking meditaion , maybe a vipassana type. if i remember, he said one had to go to asia to learn it. and obviously i like the nature walks.

how synchronistic is this?? i just finished reading jung's chapter one in his Alchemical Studies and he is asking the same question, if westerners can understand Taoism. of course his perspective is quite different than yours. but still a very intersting coincidence, i think. anyways , i always enjoy your writings aaron. ed>sp

three times in the past 24 hours 3 different bluejays have flown within 3 or 4 feet of me, then they hesitate while in flight right in front of me,and flutter their wings, they are not screeching or being defensive.they are not in attack mode, this has happened at 3 different locations.they seem calm. a 4th bluejay who was hoppong around some yard like a robin will looking for a worm, flew over the fence that separated us, hopped into a ditch that crossed the path i was walking and he waited there calmly as i stepped over him. no, i have never noticed this type of action from bluejays b4. i feel silly even posting this. but i find it highly curious

i have seen those titmouse. they are cool too. here the early morning crows were up to mischief again. back at my house i also enjoy the kingfisher and the crane. not sure whats up here becoz i have had very close encounters with bluejays, they are going out of their way to get my attention.

i continue to realize that it is difficult for any of us to have an understanding of some-thing without experiencing that thing. so, it is a challenge for us to explain about qigong to anyone who hasnt practiced it yet. many of us here have heard and read that the Taoist concept of cultivation is referring to Jing Qi Shen. i usually refer to Jing as our life essence, our vitality. healthy people have a strong 'jing' qigong can be translated as 'energy power' and qigong is divided into 3 parts; 1.Martial art qigong and there is neigong (internal power) and waigong (external power) 2.Healing qigong 3. Spiritual qigong qigong is an exercise to develop our energy power. energy is the middle dimension that is between the physical dimension and the spirit dimension. but qigong is closer to the physical dimension some think that shen gong is an advanced level of qigong shen gong is an exercise that refines and transforms our energy from the physical into the spirit dimension. so, both qigong and shen gong develop our energy the qigong energy is close to the physical dimension the shen gong is close to the spirit dimension the shen gong i practice is the foundation to the next level in spirit cultivation (immortality) in this process, the shen gong refines the energy and then it is cultivated by meditation that is based on Zi Ran and Wu Wei i have been practicing shen gong a year now, one year and in august 2013 there will be Taoist training to share this art if anyone wants to know more, feel free to PM me

the topic is very taoist, but i am in agreement with snowmonki about leaving it here in general discussion area. also, i wanted to bring Ge Hong into the discussion and how he relates to Taoist Yoga, or if he does? http://www.taoiststudy.com/content/zhong-l%C3%BC-chuan-dao-ji-%E9%90%98%E5%91%82%E5%82%B3%E9%81%93%E9%9B%86%E9%92%9F%E5%90%95%E4%BC%A0%E9%81%93%E9%9B%86

birds are amazing, when i see a mockingbird chase away a robin, or a bluejay slowly flutter as it passes 3 feet in front of me. or crows, sparrows, wrens, warbler, all the various ducks and geese here, when i am out in the woods and a grouse runs right up to me, well i can understand how a hungry pioneer got by sometimes lol and so many turkey, all the hawks and i have seen so many hawks this year. sand pipers, kites, plenty of gulls here too, even if i wonder how come they aint down on some florida beach? chick-a-dee, alot of bluebirds this year. those towhee, thrashers, hearing the morning doves and a whipporwill, and on and on, so many different birds and most of them will let you get close and personable with them. then on campus here there are peregrine falcon and i worry a lil about the other birds. still it is incredible to watch it in flight. i saw some huge off white bird last weekend way out in some rough wilderness. it was twilight and i dont think it was a crane, but it was that size. it was kinda freaky. MH, i am sure you are enjoying your birds very much. the photos are cool and you are kinda inspiring me to get a camera and capturing some bird images here.

there isnt much difference between the 1776 and 1789 revolutions and the 1917 revolution. in 1989, in romania , ceausescu was the king all were to get rid of the "king" and restore power to the people. in each case the people decided en masse to step into the streets and face the tyranny and its thugs. today the "king" hides in corporate board rooms becoz he is a coward who hires out mercenaries (police/thugs) to do their dirty work, and wise enuff to know that the people do hold the power(still, but for how long , if we dont act) time to step into the next age, one way or the other, and to which age do we step? one of ever increasing corporate power? or, one of balance? in 1973 blue oyster cult released their second album titled tyranny and mutation, sounds like monsanto to me, and monsanto was up and going strong then as now. "rinji news o moshiagemasu" "daishkyu hinan shite kudassai!" "godzill ga ginza hoomen e mukkate imasu!

i wont repost up the odessa step scene here, i did post it on the society sucks thread. i think what needs to happen, or what would be a solution, is; if genY the millenials can step up and become the next great generation. they will be the ones deciding if we succumb to corporate power or if the people can wake up and take back control and liberty. occupy wall street was the test run, we all saw as the po po wielded the night sticks for the elite. how shameful was that? attacking peaceful gatherers in a "democracy". occupy monsanto is the next testing ground. will genY step up and seize the moment and embrace their destiny? other generations past have had to step up, it is never easy. the millennials are the force that can bring change, if they choose. they have been given every possible distraction devices available by corporate world. everything hangs in the balance. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vrlTeoFcf-Q

i reckon this is effective and it also produces threads of substance here in the lobby. i accidently stumbled upon this.
