if i had money, i would buy Liao's entire library. for the most bang for the buck, i agree with lifeforce. xingyi is a simpler system and gets one to IMA level quickest. here i am a humble bgz player giving endorsements for Liao's tai chi and xingyiquan.

so i have been back on campus for a couple of days, yesterday the crows were up to mischief and alot of other birds were pissed. you had birds of various variety chasing a crow here and a crow there and in the meanwhile you had a couple of crows who were waiting hidden and ready to go into the now ungaurded location my first day back on campus i was walking around and a thrush jumped into my shin, not sure why, then he flew a few feet away, maybe a bit embarrassed ? as we exchanged glances, he was kinda saying oops, sorry bout that. very gentle and tame birds on this campus. the robins and sparrows would probably almost let you touch them..... but this morning i was drawn towards a cardinal that was singing more beautiful than any cardinal ever, sure there was that mockingbird the other day showing off his singing skilz, but this cardinal, and when he noticed i was focused on him, he flew away a few feet and then continued. how i wish i had a recorder at that moment. he was singing exquisitely and extraordinary. it was piercing in the most delightful manner. all the other birds were quite, most likely , like me, listening in awe i am proud of my campus, obviously, altho, i wont be attending grad school here. i do have one more year to appreciate the beauty and the birds. http://www.eku.edu/news/university-earns-tree-campus-usa-status

How come all the video, online, forums, books, etc. learning?
zerostao replied to BaguaKicksAss's topic in General Discussion
depends, i do have an online/video bagua teacher, and i know bagua teachers locally. of course i try and benefit however i can find it. the video instructor does review and make corrections when you supply him with video. books i think can lead to a deeper understanding, once you have the experience to understand. an advantage to the video, is that it is always ready when you are. if i feel like looking over a form a 4 am, it doesnt mind being played. when i began my bagua journey just over 4 years ago, i began with local teachers and video teacher at the same time. having more than one teacher can also have drawbacks. initially i had the snake step down great, until a local teacher told me that i should never step like that. and then a year later he said, it was higher level. i was a somewhat seasoned m.a. b4 i began the bagua, and i had tai chi experience, so, in a way i already knew the style i was after. and i follow a path that feels right to me, regardless of others opinions. i do enjoy watching a wide variety of IMA and see so much beauty, depth, wisdom contained somewhere in all of them. you are lucky to have found baguazhang in this lifetime. you are also lucky to have found ttb ; ) there are on this forum wonderful bagua players who never post as such and remain annyonomous, occasionally one might receive a pm that shares great knowledge. -

ha , you dont have to be lacan or derida to know all of reality is linguistic based. qigong is high level technology " I mean the real wealthy in the U.S. do not use actual cash money because then they might have to pay taxes." i must fall into that category, coz i dont use cash or pay taxes. wealthy aint got a dang thing to do with money, anywayz. redundancy is useful but the realities still fall upon(unwilling to listen) deaf ears. no matter how often ya slap some of these guys across the face with missile/penis , they still just dont get it. pfl, define spiritual scene edit> one can apply to attend the school of consciousness and transformation for 981$ a unit ha been watching a group of crows working as a team today and had all the other birds pissed,,,so really i aint saying ha ha its more like ah ah, i dont find nde or obe all that useful...trance , definately a no on that

pfl, i think ur 2 latest posts reflect my wonderings about the next great generation. only one chomsky in a generation is not enuff. corporate greed generation needs to fade away. bill gates owns 500,000 shares of monsanto, and so forth.

will the next great generation please stand up. is it genY ? all those photos they are taking of themself, maybe the clue?

seems like the main activity of the govt is to investigate itself, and no wonder.

added a few more horsetail behind my hedge. a well meaning neighborhood kid weedeated those i had from last year lol and as i was out collecting water in the cumberland national forest, i also took a baby mullein and added in my backyard,in a designated bricked in flower garden lol http://www.herbcraft.org/mullein.html http://www.livestrong.com/article/159004-mullein-for-the-lungs/ a couple of weeks ago i almost stopped and took a small redbud tree , they were so gorgeous at the time, but i didnt, when i got home , after a couple/few weeks away, the old hollowed out crab apple tree in the yard was blooming magnificiently, i didnt need the red bud after all. still dont know what to do with my fig, it is vigoriously going strong, for now i will leave it in its pot, until i decide if it can make it in the appalachian climate

yes, of course, its starjumper7. and i am thinking that Taoist wizard has certainly done his homework and found and landed in a very good location. i dont know how often he has internet access, i hear from him maybe , every 6 months or so. i think it is great that he has extended an invitation to all of us Tao Bums. some may say that he talked a big talk, well, he is walking the walk http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vilcabamba,_Peru

as much as i have enjoyed the birds (and squirrels) on campus,,,,,, when i returned home yesterday. it was a birdfest party, such singing and energy. there was even glimpses of Tao peeking in all day. the cardinals were flying thru the fron t porch even as me and 2 neighbors sat there the squirrels were also not to be outdone and , there were several comments about the squirrel antics yesterday. i didnt see any crow until i went to decorate some gravesites, 2 watched me tend to the sites

thanks for sending the healing medicine my way. the foot is healed 100% and yesterdays barefoot bgz in my own backyard was fantastic. there is good medicine here on ttb

ironically the bagua celestial masters have decided that i should injure my left foot. this reinforces my case about the importance of stepping. i stil have my iron palm , but at present it is gonna be hard to use it. hey you, over there, step over here so i can strike you! its kinda like north korea , i think, sure, they have a nuke in their arsenal, but do they have the proper delivery system? if their opponent can easily intercept, what good does it do? i wish i was dancin' instead of hobbling. and to a bagua dancer, it looks like everyone else is hobbling, hobbling aint cool

i am a little slow getting back to this. i had finals week here, exorcist_1699, your postings here on this thread correlates with the view of Taoism that is given on the basic online introduction course, i have promoted on my Xiao Yao Pai thread. for the bums here who did participate in the online course, which is only an introduction, i would direct you back to lesson #4. exorcist_1699, i do not mean to use your thread to promote my clan. as you are aware, these concepts of immortality are not so simple to explain to the uninitiated. and you seem to be a very rare Taoist that is actually willing to have an open conversation about this. i appreciate you greatly for that. and i agree the emphasis is on proof.

it is a good video gerard. that master is focused and rooted. i reckon my "dancin" metaphor was taken a bit too literal. i was trying to illustrate how the footwork is far more important than any iron palm. and i dont know any bgz palyers who do not have iron palm and it always comes back to the walking. and how , when one reaches a certain level of walking, it becomes effortless like a dance. fa jin is one thing, fa chi is another, and fa shen is yet another. energetic awareness and my health are what i am happiest most about with my bagua play.

now we can begin to transition from the first trigram to the second

the crows that live 'round my house are rather large. nothing like the crows i see in the city
-
for any Taoist IMA, especially baguazhang, it is the graceful dance. if onlookers are mesmerized that is cool imo

last semester in the post modern class we watched North by Northwest and Vertigo. it is curious about the level of mention, or lack of, with NA and the cougar. the cougar must have been heavy on their minds. and there were some very large cougars in the eastern woodlands upon european arrival.

" during deep meditation or deep dreamwork, a 'dimension' where I couldn't be sure if they were real or my own creation." i can relate to this. and it is one of the benefits,( having that level of discernment), of my initiation into XYP of TSM. in TSM we have no gap between us. even with the GM.this is a basic characterisitic in TSM. we are all equal human. this is also an implementation of 'Xiao Yao' "maybe starbucks if they're coffee drinkers, otherwise Teavana" lu dong bin met a Taoist immortal in a pub. "Probably not over the internet" i reckon Taoists stay current, so i wouldnt totally rule anything out. maybe you wont meet the immortal on the net, but maybe you can find the access. after my initiaon last june, i look at everything differently now

native american folklore speaks alot about the crow. joy harjo thinks crows are here to observe us and report back to maker of breath on their observations. they certainly do observe us. one tale is how when the time came for us to become human, crows also had the opportunity, but they passed, they were content being crow and know they have an easy existence. i have not seen hitchcock's The Birds http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GWR2sRiWrlw
