  1. turtle shell just wanted to say i am with ya on the obamney. its rigged deal either way. crimes of the highest order. so much deception going on from all sides how does one see thru the fog that these fog machines are putting out there.
  2. i like the trigram joeblast. foreign policy does happen to be a major part of the presidents job and i feel that foreign policy affects our economy. recent example is the latest george bush, dick cheney, don rumsfeld, condi rice decision to invade and destroy iraq and the re-direction(criminal) (mis-use) of resources. this directly led to the state of the economy we are now in. again , consider the state of the economy when this latest group of criminals politicians took office and the state of the economy when they left office. it is curious that i have been asking reagan's famous question "are you better off now than you were 4 years ago? and even if 75% of those i ask say that they personally are better off than they were 4 years ago i live in a state that will go romneys way. the issues of public education, (and how i remember the latest bush wanted to be known as the education president,) and the issue of the environment alone tempt me to vote. evil always finds a way to tempt someone i reckon. personally i am way better off than i was 4 years ago when i was participating in a republican economy. and had my lifes work savings stripped away in a flash. if the republicans ever choose to run a true republican, well that might be different, even if i feel the time has come to scrap the 2 party system entirely. i trust the 99% more than i trust the 1% edit. some folks suggest that i am not being responsible in that i do not vote my view is it is ir-responsible to vote for criminals , thus putting me at least as an accessory to future crimes. i want no part of it

  6. Native Americans did cut and clear trees at times, even used controlled burns, yes they did and they showed early pioneers how to use slash and burn for farming purposes. how to build log cabins too.
  7. Do we Change? Do we Evolve?

of course we all have the ability to change. if one is not evolving then they are de-volving. there is no staying in one constant state. i have witnessed some remarkable changes in peoples attitudes and minds. (including my own)
  8. I'm not so sure the native americans were all we make them out to be. they were much more than that. perhaps one would have to be in Appalachia to understand. a bigger factor is their philosophy and way of looking at their life. to know and understand the forest one needs to experience the forest.
  9. added evidence to their wisdom. if they only took what the forest freely offered (naturally downed trees) they would always have plenty. chopping away seems to have arrived with the idea of taking huge profits from the forest without regard to any consequences during the 1870-1920 timeline. edit http://www.bing.com/...tucky&FORM=IGRE edit2
  10. out in the forest this weekend the leaves were gently falling and swirling, as i was circle walking trees were throwing some nuts at me. when i got up onto the ridge and looked out across the hill tops the level of resplendentcy was very high. it was like i was being given a privileged insight into secret workings of the Tao. i wanted to share a couple of quotes from a fellow Appalachian admirer of the forest, silas house from his A Parchment of Leaves “I had always found comfort in the leaves, in their silence. They were like a parchment that holds words of wisdom. Simply holding them in my hand gave me some of the peace a tree possesses. To be like that-to just be-that's the most noble thing of all.” “Maybe all the secrets of life were written on the surface of leaves, waiting to be translated. If I touched them long enough, I might be given some information no one else had.” the seasonal charm of the woods this weekend easily captured me and how may i try to explain what an enraptured person can see
  11. thread for off topic re-directs

thanks for sharing your perspective and experience gp. i realize each of us have very unique situations to consider for better or for worse. i know you have mentioned a mrs. gp and you run a centre and that must figure heavily into the equation. i dont wanna derail a sifu jenny thread as she has my respects big time. but this idea of her having a workshop there at this time washed out it seems. so i will continue for a bit. my short falling i reckon is of all the things to consider , i consider the money the least. whether i am spending or collecting. but thats me and i realize no others look at it like that. example, last year i roamed about the south, atlanta, western carolina, florida, and back to eastern kentucky as a roaming qigong teacher of sorts. no advertisements, just word of mouth basically, anyways i let folks "pay me" whatever they liked. we met at folks homes, parks, the beach, on some mountain, out in the woods, along some river, etc. for me it was very worthwhile to do. becoz i did it for the experience and for the experiences sake alone. to share energy and art. did i make money? i did make experience and lasting memories and networked connections. me and 2 road buddies toured the south sight seeing, people seeing, enjoying ourselves and the places and folks we met up with. if i woulda had money of my own to finance the trip and have it go the same way, that would have been worthwhile for me also. and i would have happily "paid them" i have often invited folks to come visit, asking nothing , well not money anyways. just to be authentic and honest, to themself mainly, very few have taken me up on this. my idea was just to play tai chi, baguazhang, qigongs, test energies, reveal to a skeptic that emitting qi and fa jin are very real, and have fun. go out into nature and i thought it would be cool to show folks how easy it is to forage in our forests here. just allow them to enjoy a change of scenery for however long it took for them to find their center or until they decided to move on. for me it is always about art for arts sake and the experience for the experiences sake. i look at it like the luxury it is and it is a gift i give myself. i couldnt imagine to place some $ price on it, as 299 would be ok or 372 being too much. i have seen folks on this forum and elsewhere charge hundreds of dollars(and more) for some of the very things i gladly shared for free. maybe if one pays for sth alot of monies what they get is better somehow? hehehehehe or they were after some certificate and not the skill, idk, it is curious. as we do accept things do change and my own schedule is quiet busier now than in recent times i am no longer able to offer so freely my time. i will continue to share art and energy and experience only for their own sake even if the circle is a bit smaller now.
  12. Sifu Jenny Lamb in the UK?

thanks gp for sharing your perspective and experience and insight about this. i dont want to derail a sifu jenny thread even if it seems she will not be having a workshop there at this time. but i did make a post in off topic about some experience i have had.
  13. Sifu Jenny Lamb in the UK?

There is no way I could justify spending that sort of money. you are saying it was best spent somewheres else? one year not so long ago i made about 2,100 that year and spent like 2,100 on baguazhang. i never thought about justifying it and if i did it would be like it was worth every cent. if i could see sifu jenny for 350 i would come up with the 350 vissi d'arte whats the latin term for internal?

  18. Epiphanies on power

it is a relief. i wish the truth be truth thread had not been tucked away in a pp log tho. i feel truth should be played to a larger audience. annie confirms? grandmaster p , i dont know if you are aware of it or no, but some brooklyn grandmaster p is going around rapping and using your name. no, not that one. this one hmm bronx brooklyn there is a diiference?
  19. Epiphanies on power

power is what we can expect when tao and te are successfully fused together te is tao within , entrapped inside us te is more virtuosity than it is merely virtue this inner tao, te , entrapped inside us , when presented with a situation the te interprets that situation and if done correctly and in the spirit of Tao , then power is expressed in real time
  20. Well THAT was different.

"Pity other people have trademarked it" i am wondering, they trademarked their system not a specific qigong right? coz how could someone trademark spontaneous movements?
  21. Epiphanies on power

a taoist cannot experience an epiphany???? " It's a Xtian construct refined in their enlightenment era." i suggest that darwin had an epiphany or 2 himself. ancient greeks for sure did have epiphanies , or else why would have they come up with the term? grandmaster p has never once experienced an epiphany?
  22. Yang Short Form DVD?

In 1989, after getting permission from my teacher, Abraham Liu, I produced what are as of today the most successful, popular and widely distributed instructional Tai Chi videos of all time (best-reviewed on amazon.com)--more than 9 million sold over the past 21 years. platinum 9 times over, wow that is great success indeed. i reckon i will check out the cheng man-ching 37 video. looking forward to it.
