sharing random thoughts out loud for the entire world to hear is cool stuff?! appearances and reality, 2 different things often times. assuming is usually not the best idea. those who assume and just take a quick look at the surface miss the deeper meanings. or the deeper random meanings

send a few lion girls to my neck of the woods. just to play some lion baguazhang of course

yawn. i am not yawning becoz of lack of interest about this thread. i am yawning coz i think it illustrates a type of baguazhang song. a yawn is relaxed and still holds a certain tension.at the same time it is a nice stretch too.and from this relaxed/stretched/tension of a yawn one could emit a fa jin. a good yawn just feels good.

folks need to stick together. and in many smaller simpler communities they are very tight knit and folks do look out for each other. those that were strong and lent a helping hand to others in their moments of stress, illness, bad luck, and other challenges that were difficult to face alone,,,,well it is hard to forget those folks that helped when they come up against their own special challenges. i do kinda use the concepts thing myself and it does help me. i dont have the concept that i am in any competition tho, with the exception of against myself. @edit> apech , good luck with that

i am sure you are aware of timisora around christmas 1989 and the efforts and sacrifices of the people to topple a tyranny. too often in some places these efforts are forgotten and a new tyranny springs up. usa is not immune to this either earning the freedom is one thing , keeping it is another challenge

"I am sorry to ask such troubling questions but how can someone change self if it is not known ?" never apologize for asking questions. you are asking good questions. merlin once said "it is the doom of men that they forget" hopefully in romania they will never forget christmas eve 1989 edit>one source of inspiration to me has been tristan tzara

I would respectfully add that Song is also an important quality throughout the waist and spine. In fact, I think there are aspects of Song throughout the body at the same time as aspects of Jin. It's not either/or - it's both, varying in degree depending on the circumstances at any given moment very much agree. i think for the bagua player there needs to be a special awareness of song/sung? with the hips and shoulders. it is surprising to me how many folks dont seem to know they can use their hips and shoulder blades.

yup i am an experience junkie who experiences Tao. existentialists like action like you say and they also appreciate the value of non- action. knowing when to choose one or teh other is both existentialist and Taoist.higher art knowing when to when and when not to.looks like same approach from this neck of the woods.

i think the quote from fred that i posted 18 sept. kinda reveals that he certainly is. camus is an interesting fellow. his idea about anyone desiring clarity and meaning in this world as being totally absurd or sth like that. anyways this post modern world we are in as dickens would say, is the best of times and/or the worse of times. for those of us luckiest enuff to have found a bit of Tao in our life, well we are lucky, i reckon. i agree with camus' view about being able to claim being truly and fully existentialist is problematic due to other various forces we contend with find harmony with. however for playing in these lower dimensions, the best we can try , i thinks, is the existential way.

very existential of them, dont you think? that is why i asked about wu wei being totally compatable with existentialism on the other thread,

i will give an example: the boxer known as jack dempsey certainly displayed an internal game. did he get it from internal training or did he get it from external practices? that idk. but it is obvious he was issuing internal force with his punches ed> there was alot of coiling /un-coiling and yin/yang going on with dempsey

the first 36 songs are to be pondered over, chewed on , digested the first 3 or 4 years of bgz practice. there are also other bgz songs not from dong hai chuan. and dong hia chuan also has another 48 songs to be looked at, absorbed, after the first 36 are comprehended. there is mention of song in songs. it may not call it song tho.

"Ed - My sig expresses a fundamental paradox of existence" i have always liked that sig alot. not sure who ed is, but speaking of paradox, is wu wei compatible with existentialism?

animals natural instinct is to learn by playing. sorry to hear about your harsh childhood mine is (hehehe) was? spent playing and learning. practice is boring, serious or not. play is great fun and like mythie mentioned it is play becoz of the joy. maybe chidragon practices joyfully? if so , keep on keepin on easier to play when relaxed, right? right! i wish someone(qualified) would start a thread about the similarities of the internal martial arts anyways put me in the camp of the taiji player rather than the taiji practicer
