  11. We Are Tao Fans!

i think when i said this i desire that which i have and nothing else it speaks to my contentment and to my desire if i said one who is in harmony with Tao desires harmony with Tao // it doesnt matter. if i said one who has understanding with Tao further desires understanding with Tao it doesnt matter either i used my examples to illustrate the point of how can one want what they already have desire is not a bad thing if what one desires is a good thing really i used that form of lingo to try and reach out to these stubborn philosophical taoists hehehhe (playfully) dedication? i aint got a clue. i am totally absorbed in the way of Tao what can each accomplish? who am i to set any limit, i really dont see any limit to be honest, how can Tao have limit? edit>>a kind tao bum sister turned me onto this well over a year ago
  12. We Are Tao Fans!

oh, you never ever never ever need say sorry in my direction. i thank you for all your wonderful insights. i rather think myself quite contented already even if i further desire harmony with Tao.
  13. We Are Tao Fans!

of course it is best to rub knees and ankles as we walk the baguazhang circle..... every one who desires, desires that which they have not already, and which is future and not present, and which they aint got, and are not, and of which they are in want of..... would one who is great, desire to be great, or one who is strong, desire to be strong? anyone who is anything cannot want to be that which they already are? yet, if anyone being strong desired to be strong, or being swift desired to be swift, or being healthy desired to be healthy, in that case they might be thought to desire something which they already have or already are. i give the example in order that we may avoid misconception. the possessors of these qualities, fans, must be supposed to have their respective advantages at the time, whether they choose or not; and who can desire that which they have? like i am well and wish to be well, or i am rich and wish to be rich, and i desire simply to have what i have—to him we shall reply: ‘you, my friend, having wealth and health and strength, want to have the continuance of them; for at this moment, whether you choose or not, you have them. when you say, i desire that which i have and nothing else, is not the meaning that you want to have what you now have in the future? desiring that what we have at present may be preserved to us in the future, which is equivalent to saying that we desire something which is non-existent to us, and which as yet we aint got .... every one who desires, desires that which they aint got and which is future and not present, and which we aint got, and is not, and of which we are in want;—these are the sort of things which our desire seek? so dont both Tao fans and taoists(proper) desire the same thing?
  14. DGS's Dizzying DVD Collection

okie the snake vibrating palms and dragon whipping palms , and like trunk said they are both on one dvd. prices always change, so check with DGS b4 ordering, way back when i got mine even if it was on one dvd i paid 216. and i hesitated alot about posting on it here, but what the heck. i dont mind that other baguazhang guys from other schools aint so much for sharing their goods. what are they saving it for anywayz?! those of you on here that have shared i thank you sincerely very much. thanks to DGS and lao xie for all of his attention he has generously shared with me and strangely the more i give out the more i recieve, so workz for me. hahaha simple straight forward presentation of the material and very useful like sifu ray just said "function depends on what you want" i like that, i may have to get a sifu ray dvd soon

  16. We Are Tao Fans!

" regarding proper interpretation of the lingo" i look at it like whoever wrote whatever, be it lao tzu or chuang tzu or anyone on this board or in china or anywhere. what they wrote is their take on it or their thesis which is based on their experience and subjectivity. and you cannot base your life your path solely on what they wrote. you find your own and trust your inner voice or your guts over what anyone else said or says. what these great sages said resonates and rings truth thru-out these ages becoz for them it was wisdom and truth and may point you in a direction, ultimately we are responsible for our own way down our own path. when someone makes such a strong case that supports their thesis we do take notice , but find your own thesis and make your own case for it. who cares about appearences or others perceived validation. validate yourself. edit> dont put yourself in someone else's box
  17. We Are Tao Fans!

" just don't have the taste to see it thrown away for commercial purposes," i agree ten thousand percent being cool or not cool, idk seems far less substantial than clouds and far more subjective tao fan is cool in my book, i am always up for going to the next tao concert and may see some pink pony dude doing horse stance, one never knows haha
  18. " no split of a cool observer and the things he is observing" and many who subscribe to this also think that while the thing is being observed it wont age becoz of that, which makes little sense it is true that a very rare rare few ever die of natural causes Taoism emphasizes proof yes yes "Life and sentience are properties of the universe" the source of the universe and its properties comes from the Tao "Being one with the tao is called being dead" been reading sartre?
  19. We Are Tao Fans!

i dont reckon it would be for sale at any price and yet it is priceless edit> i like this "You live your own dao based on the circumstances presented, as does everybody else, why do you need the arbitrary line describing with a label who is or is not "valid" as a Taoist?" i think that if you use wu wei and ziran to navigate the circumstances-then you may be(at least) part taoist
  20. i acknowledge that Taoist Immortals and other Immortals exist
  21. We Are Tao Fans!

  23. Taijiquan Styles

"My teacher is very interested in baguazhang and plans to focus on it in the next few years when he has more money to train. Currently his focus is on his spiritual development." funny how that works out and seems to be "Bagua is a great compliment to developing that agile footwork as well." it is a different type of rooting tho, walking while remaining rooted is fine art imo edit> "Sounds like you have a good teacher!" sounds like both of you guys do have good teachers be thankful
  24. King Arthur - Daoist, Alchemist & Bender

"King Arthur is a fictional story." myth and legend may or may not be fictional. most have been found to have some factual basis. challenging is great and so is re-challenging. we can safely all agree that even our official "history" could be labeled fiction. as it was written with propaganda slant for many reasons. sometimes the legend is more credible than the history.
  25. Tao particle

i have always wanted to visit romanina maybe teach english there. travel to the unchanged villages that time forgot. visit the forest and carpathian mountains. you understand wu chi and yin yang, right? Tao might kinda be like there is all of those things in heaven etc that you have mentioned which is here in yin yang and then over in wu chi is something even greater. and harder to define.
