for sure a day without dancing is a wasted day. and not only had he been possessed by zarathrustra he may have had a wee bit of buddhist in him "To live is to suffer, to survive is to find some meaning in the suffering. " FN very spiritual dude this freddy

nietzche (uncle freddy ) was a zorastrian and was even possessed by zarathustra. niettzche just added some updated text to the gathas. this being possessed by the spirit of zarathustra is a bit uncommon but not completely unknown. other known persons that are known to have been possessed by zarathustra: voltaire, pliny the elder, yeats, cervantes...... here i will offer some quotes. (as we all know that a quote is proof sufficient to prove anything) "'That's exactly it,' replied Don Quijote, 'that's just how beautifully I've worked it all out" "A witty saying proves nothing." voltaire "I am of a healthy long lived race, and our minds improve with age. " yeats. wow yeats knew of taoist immortals, obviously tho becoz he had been possessed by zarathustra "In these matters the only certainty is that nothing is certain." pliny the elder "Anyone who has declared someone else to be an idiot, a bad apple, is annoyed when it turns out in the end that he isn't. " nietzche

i understand snowmonki. i am not contending anything with anyone. i am speaking of my experience not anyone elses. and as far as even the mind of no mind goes i have had glimpses of that. would i call it a quantum event? maybe i would. but the word quantum for some is a charged or loaded concept. personally i dont have a problem with it. i totally understand and have experience that some of these experiences are hard to put into words and they need to be felt. and the feeling only comes after a time of practice/playing with it. i have been very consistent about this since my arrival on TTB. to be sure baguazhang is very rich in this very thing. for example how am i gonna sound if i am telling a fellow player that if they are to walk in this particular way, after a time of practicing/playing this type of walking that they will be floating ? they may look at me as being completely bonkers, right? edit> maybe i need to always include a smilley face with all of my posts. i understand that typing words and sending to someone we have not met in person can be recieved in a manner that was not intended by the sender. i understand that there are bums here with a much higher level of understanding in taoist arts than i have and it is fantastically wonderful that we have the opportunity to exchange messages with. i like to question things and in doing so i am not challenging anyones knowledge. quite the contrary in fact.

@-K- "I don't understand quantum anything" i dont think anyone does to include heisenberg, dirac, schrödinger, for sure einstein didnt have a clue about it. and how could he know if God played dice or not? this problem of infinity is what the geometry thread is looking at now. quantum physics, cutting edge brain science, nueroscience, quantum geometry are not exactly coming up with the same view. many paradox exist (quantum and taoist) my favorite being mind of no mind no edit i was gonna post a project i had helped with. but it isnt neccessary.

interesting outlook " Quotations, as I use them, are about the message within the quotation, not the profile of the messenger." for me in regards to language , it is more important who said it and how it was used that gives the truer meaning. not some words. words without the spirit of the messenger are lifeless. imo thelerners question of from what circumstance did this come ? is tantamount.

and i still reach for the way to comprehend between our thoughts and the thoughtless, the nature of the questions put to nature can therefore be quite different the idea here is that the action of the projection that is associated with a thought will actualize a pattern of brain activity that will dynamically evolve in such a way as to tend to create a subsequent state that is likely to achieve the intention of the thought . the natural cause of this positive correlation between the experiential intention of the thought and the matching confirmatory experience of a succeeding thought is set in place during the formation of brain structure, in the course of the person's interaction with his environment, by the reinforcement of brain structures that result in successful pairings between experienced intentions and subsequently experienced perceptions.

intuitive is not intellectualizing "Visualize it to make it "apparent" then "let it go" to make it "solid". there is no solid

the question thus arises as to what is `really happening'. to use the more basic principles of quantum physics, which bring the observer into the dynamics, adherence to the quantum principles yields a dynamical theory of the mind/brain/body system that is in close accord with our intuitive idea of what we are. in particular, the need for a self-observing quantum system to pose certain questions creates a causal opening that allows mind/brain dynamics to have three distinguishable but interlocked causal processes, one micro-local, one stochastic, and the third experiential. when is the critical limit passed? intuitively we know that our conscious thoughts can guide our actions.

and you understand it too, right!? "chaos, supreme unknown, primordial, blend into wuji state" yin-yang,5 elements, 8 trigrams, anarchy and what i mean by this is to avoid the artificial and the structured. for me real harmony with tao is to withdraw from the structures of society and experience the natural rythmns of the universe. chapter 25: there was something undifferentiated and yet complete which existed before heaven and earth soundless and formless, it depends on nothing and does not change. it operates everywhere and is free from danger it may be considered the mother of the universe. i do not know its name and call it Tao. all of nature has inherrent harmony and balance in natural process. the greatest human good is to be in harmony with the Tao people do not get into harmony with Tao by following structured rules or propriety but rather by wuwei. wuwei is after all how nature itself operates. passively, quietly, and in natural rythmn. trees gro, rivers flow, winter turns to spring. we should follow these patterns of no action and non striving. to find harmony and to flow with Tao withdraw from the rat race. the softest overcomes the hardest. do not use violence or agression do not seek reward and status. live spontaneously and without rules or plans. stay in equanimity. be free. chp 16 one with nature , he is one with Tao, one with Tao he is eternal and free from danger thru-out all his life Tao encompasses all forms of existence without distinctions or dualities to be in tune with Tao is to transcend ordinary judgements and emotions to attain absolute happiness then understand the real nature of things be like Tao and embrace all things this is a process of change and transformation. do not react to these changes with pain or pleasure accept them as a natural process and be in harmony with them read chp 6 living with Tao frees one from the limitations imposed upon by the normal conforming conventional life doesnt chuang tzu tell us of many miraculous transcendences we could acheive? Qi is the primordial breath which comes from Tao i have never read anything but lao tzu , chuang tzu, the nei-yeh, and the I Ching so maybe i am limited in my perspective and the only thing i can say about belief is whatever your excuse is or has been -stop believing it

" To state categorically that "the mind is not involved" is inaccurate, IMO. Intent is a manfestation of mind. It is a very specific manifestation certainly, but not independent of and unrelated to mind. " this would be my understanding as well. even if we talk about quantum physics , attention, intention , and will cannot be discounted. IMO

zerostao replied to fallintounity's topic in General Discussion
i am certain i spoke no harsh words. here i get a little confused tho "For me to cultivate power all it takes is looking out into the world and how foolish the 'enlightened' think they are-- then the heavens shine on me- " added with "and unfortunately, money is the only answer" -
sounds very jeffersonian to me
