  1. Seth Ananda needing to be banned

i'll step out of the conversation. i actually despise any form of politics. Mal did ask for feedback, i said my piece. one thing tho, i never speak viciously about anyone in PM's , if i have sth to say i say it out in the open.
  2. Seth Ananda needing to be banned

"That was Simple Jack's post to me on the first page. Calling me "guy" and stating one method as inferior to a Buddhist one." being called "guy" is so bad? and one can call anyones method inferior, correct? "Now that is a hard thing to moderate. " damn , again i am glad i am not a moderator
  3. Seth Ananda needing to be banned

i usually enjoy seth's posts here. as seth has said he doesnt want to join another buddhist forum becoz he likes the tao bums. imo seth makes insightful contributions here and i like to hear his views and experiences. he has a genuine good sense of humor. having said that, i dont understand how anyone can feel they are justified to hurl personal insults here, the rules are fairly loose to start with and how hard is it really not to personally insult someone. considering how many times we continue to go over this one issue it really is imo unexcusable. the other interesting thing for me in this is i have seen seth publicly call for others to be banned and he has done so more than once. so it is especially hard for me to understand that seth is hurling multiple insults at a fellow bum. do i want to see any bum banned ? no, i do not. do i want to see bums personally insulted? no, i do not. i personally miss starjumper7 on this forum but i certainly do understand why he was banned. i think starjumper was suspended more than once before he was finally banned?
  4. Do I smell a third world war?

i think what we have been seeing is just the brush fires that will lead to a bigger badder type of thing. i really dont see how such a thing can even be conducted. wmd in alot of camps, no one will be able to send any large army out onto the field. its gonna get messy, upclose , and personal. no one will be unaffected.
  5. tulku (brother), imo what lao tzu was saying to us is in essence a philosophy of being natural. chuang tzu is telling us that our existence is an integral part of limitless time and the cosmos. and we are constantly interacting. dont use another's standard for yourself. those other higher masters found their own standards. unique and meaningful to them. if your standard to find freedom is to clear away from your dependencies, the ones you have created for yourself, your self-created pit of bondage. if you are convinced that you have an over-dependency in your daily life of material things, vices, emotions, knowledges, politicians, etc , then by all means step out of your bondage and into your freedom. after thousands of years the taoist thought includes a way for the layman to find better health, keys to longevity, a better quality of life that includes everything from philosophy, to government, science, and technology too. and yes, it also has exercises and training for those individuals in search of higher spiritual realization. the profound nature of the tao gives its seekers different insights as they think, approach, and continue with their own unique stages of realization. tao encompasses all and is unlimited. tao is a universal truth and it is everywhere. tao depends on ones current experience and understanding. i wish you safety on your journey. i doubt you have been to the mountain yet but i realize you are thinking about it. i like your idea about the small village and the forest better. even then i recommend starting off on the fringe of the forest before venturing in too deep. dont worry about healing us. we will either find our right path or not. more important for you that you heal yourself and find what you seek. and i had been looking for a place to put this i used to have a tortured soul myself. tulku you are an interesting one. best of luck to you brother. edit> imo taoists do value and enjoy life. all life is precious(from the kung fu tv show) a taoist seeks ways to live a long healthy , happy life.
  6. TaoBum Love

    love a bum

  8. Immortals (Xian Shi)

some thoughts by Ge Hong from the Han dynasty. http://www.kheper.ne..._and_magic.html http://www.kheper.net/topics/bardo/chinese.html and "However, I was thinking to mention about the similarity of Taoist Immortals to the Native American's Shaman Ancestors Council which is very similar. Basically, the same idea, that all the greatest shamans join a council on the other side and continue to help in the same way as Taoist Immortals: guiding, influencing, teaching, etc., appearing in dreams and visions." it was/is my idea that someone did bring this up on the cherokee immortals thread. placing it here is just as good.
  9. Ming Men

http://longmenpai.wikitip.info/2011/08/ming-men/ "In Taoism, this is a very important centre, for it serves as the junction with the Belt Channel, which encircles the body horizontally, and is activated during higher stages of Taoist practice." http://www.kheper.net/topics/chakras/Door_of_Life.htm
  10. A Sharing of Culture and Spirit

"a change is coming" some Native American legends suggest that we choose spirit guides before we are born to help us through the trials we will face in life or show us the paths we need to follow. you can tap the wisdom of these guides to improve your life. learn the "language" or symbolism of your guides and increase your communication with them every day. when you discover one guide, you are more open to discovering others. you will find that certain guides come to you during different times. some may come only arrive in dreams, some when you need them emotionally or spiritually and others only during times of grief. http://spiritalk.net/ "our life is our song. let our song bring joy" Two Feathers http://www.youtube.c...feature=related when there were no clouds in the sky, it was believed that the spirits were in council somewhere in the realm beyond mankind. during that time, the spirits talked about ways to guide their people. sometimes, these council meetings resulted in new gifts for mankind. other times, a less pleasant result would occur. some Native Americans believed in one universal and unifying force called the Great Spirit. Mother Nature was a hugely important part of their beliefs, and was worshiped as the ultimate giver of life. they knew that every living plant and animal has its rightful place , and each has unique skills and a spirit of its own which helps it to fulfill its role on earth.
  11. Reverse Abdominal Breathing

ho hum er i mean hen ha CD " RAB is not feasible for someone who is in constant motion." i use reverse breathing while i am playing baguazhang and i am in constant motion. and "When one is in motion, it would be difficult to control the breathing while the energy was being used elsewhere. " nope , not at all. second nature. think the caligraphy brush that never leaves the paper. effortless and smooth. art.
  12. Thunder Breathing (first level)

ralis, do you have experience in thunderbreath that you would share? looks to me that is what jaysahnztao is asking for here.
  13. Thoughts, like blowing leaves

there was a moment in time when in a grove who's leaves were stirred by a gentle wind that late autumn and the leaves in their most glorious colors seemed suspended between the tree tops and the ground just floating free and easy i didnt even notice the blue sky and the white fluffed clouds just the play of the sunlight and the brilliant leaves the grove had turned into a kaleidoscope
  14. something's up?

i thought hindu and buddhist did that sorta thing?! a butterfly can dream they are zerostao however i will concede somethings may be "highly unlikely"
  15. something's up?

well i woulda responded to torus' post , if it hadnt been edit/deleted before i logged on Mh, "Impossible" hmmm, there is nothing that is impossible i liked post #21 by steve, way to go steve R_V "U got the graphic of the graph? I wanna see. " i have seen the graphic graph. the date on the graph that almost corresponds to how low it drops 12-21-2012 is in the yeard 499 ce. (rome officially fell to the barbarians) "My solution: don't get married. " i am with ya on that one, sister Mh(again) "And let us not forget that the Mayan civilization destroyed itself" nope they did not, they vanished, there is a difference. anamatva "everything rises and falls" yup sin' cosin' "they predicted it beforehand though. " very astute of them, right? witch " because the number of sightings and serious people talking about past evidence is definitely on the uptick." i am hoping serious people can lighten up and not take themselves too seriously. all thru-out history is evidence of sightings/visits. it is is carved into ancient rock petroglyphs, painted onto renaisance art, almost every single native american tribe has stories of star ancesors, it is just these obscure mayans were a little closer aligned to them, is all. i have a friend who was stationed at wright pat from 59-78.......well that is best saved for another thread. edit> party time
  16. Sifu Chris Matsuo

turkish, my focus with DGS is on baguazhang, internal iron palm especially bamboo palm and vibrating palm. as far as the reiki , mudras, etc i am not qualified to speak.
  17. something's up?

i think somethings been up most of this year. japan earthquakes, still going on btw. record rainfall , viscious tornados, record heat, east coast earthquake, boston hurricane , there is a thread somewhere around here called supermoon in reference to the supermoon effect we had march19 and the influence is still lingering. still not out of the woods yet either. september and october look very interesting too.
  18. LaoZi's "De"

yeah, i reckon it is like you say and i reckon it is also something to be increasing Te as well. i have mentioned about that in other threads. so i wont speak of how cultivation of Te has it rewards in the tao here on this thread.
  19. What is Light?

Vmarco "no subject, bar none, is greater than the subject of light" i agree 100% and that is why i am a little bit let down at your last contribution to this thread. while the name dropping of tesla, leonardo da vinci et al is fine , it lacked substance. the names i dropped i also added the ideas that went with the names. apparently you hold Drunvelo Melchizedek in much higher regards than i do and you hold maxwell and hertz in less regard than i do. the equation i offered i gave an explanation of as well. i am still waiting your explanation for your inequality. i am also wondering if this tesla/russell meeting is even verifiable? when , where did they meet? are there photographs of the 2 together? your commentary on owls , however is remarkable. and then this " And, although this thread is not extensive, it already contains more information about light than you could read in every science book ever written." edit> i will keep an open mind until i read the book. i am hoping it is a worthwhile read. i will post again to the thread at that time.
  20. What is Light?

  21. LaoZi's "De"

ok, i cant take credit for this, but when i heard it, i was like, yeah. Te is a piece of the Tao that is trapped inside us. our work is to un-trap it and reconnect back to Tao.(power of the universe)
  22. Real Taichi

yes excellent post and i understand. i am also speaking to a wider audience here that has never experienced a small circulation or a grand circulation. there are folks who are critiquing tai chi chuan that do not understand the concept or an existence of a dantien, for example.
  23. Immortals (Xian Shi)

i had the good fortune to hang out the last 3 days with lazy cloud(his birthday today) talk of immortals came up naturally. he has me to ask this forum if anyone knows how Lu Dongbin is able to change his sword into a beautiful woman? lazy cloud says he knows how it is done. also my question is , do ya'll consider Zhang Sanfeng to be any type of immortal?
  24. Real Taichi

if your taichi allows you to acheive martial grand circulation, it is a real taichi, right?
