ok, sounds great. and i am here to learn. so i do not worry if what i say here may not be totally accurate. as i am not any authority or expert. i contribute to the conversation with hopes that the conversation develops and something is learned. i realize there is a tai chi and then there is also a tai chi chuan, 2 different things. tai chi comes from wu chi. tai chi gives birth to yin and yang. yin and yang in tai chi chuan> how i look at it. can be yin is a meditative and yang is the movements of the form. yin may be bringing the qi to the ldt and yang is the physical expression. there is a coiling and an uncoiling. edit>this topic is the ancient songs and poems which are all written in chinese. so it is appreciated that someone who knows chinese , like a ChiDragon and the others are willing to contribute to this thread. what i have is handouts passed to me from westerners and some books that have been translated. a few that i like have come from yang jwing-ming. edit> ok. after looking at a couple or replies i see where i erred i will corect.i added the chuan before the "how i look at it" i hope this makes more sense?

it is my understanding that the changes have no consciousness. and i agree that we cannot say that the tao is without consciousness. edit> Mh, i am pondering the new thead you suggested. may take a bit before i decide.

anamatva, welcome .i am certainly enjoying all of your posts and insights. thanks for sharing. the reason i highlighted this post is the "existence is suffering " thing. i admit i have a very limited knowledge about (B word) but from the general discussion area i have seen alot of thought , that there is no existence but yet there is suffering. for me this is hard to relate to. one reason i have chosen the taoist path over any other is becoz it details many options for better health and longevity. and for me it seems that the bguys need to be quite intellectual and that leaves me out. my idea is i am trying to get to a place where both object and subject vanish and there i feel a unifying connection to everything. imo there is spirit. within us and all around us and in everything. or maybe it is just awareness. imo they are closely related.

you are welcome : i do meditate on these and the others i will add. yes, it does span across martial arts. but martial arts were my first step in evolutionary process/taoist alchemy. Harmonious Emptiness, thank you for your(excellent) thoughts on these. i also look forward to some others who may offer more insight to this. not to mention ChiDragon, lienshan, dawei, Stigweard, steve, by name but they have been active lately. of course many others on this forum also know so much more than me about this. i am just trying to get the discussion going also i thank devoid and whoever went and found this thread and brought it to taoist discussion. EDIT> i think they come from Jiang Rong-Qiao(the Motherfists of Xingyiquan) and Ling Gui-Qing( the Illustration of Xingyiquan) but also i think they are taken from Marshall Yue Fei. i would also like to see anything on these from Sun Lu Tang

The One Qi of Xingyiquan: Taiji was originally misty and turbid, no shape, no Yi. but there is one Qi within. this Qi circulates in the universe, nowhere cannot be reached. Living things then originated. named "One Qi" and also called the "Pre Heaven Real Sole Qi" edit> it is called Pre Heaven Real Qi becoz it existed before heaven and earth were distinguished. Fom this Qi, the 2 poles (Yin & Yang) were generated and heaven and earth began to divide. since then, Yin and Yang were distinguished. Men were also generated. therefore, the Qi, as a matter of fact, is the root of man's nature and life, the source of creation and variation, the origin of life and death. If men are able to nourish Qi (Yang Qi) and protect it without loss, then long life. If men abuse it and lose it and let it disperse and dissipate, then they die young.

wuji song: man is born in this grand space, no fighting and no competition. this place which the Yi can reach is complete. there is no blemish or shadow that can be found. the wuji song of xingyiquan: One misty Qi, cultivate it internally and externally. Jing and Wei rivers not dividing is the natural source of the Tao. Empty and natural. condense your Shen and remain calm. Converting into nothingness and returning to the origin come from this.

not sure if i gave you +1 for the post or for your new title either way does it really matter. i thought i had invented while away the hours watching clouds and lazy

i always say to that dragon if you C ME bring me a corona -
:)ChiDragon, " 1. We were talking about emitting Chi 5 to 10 feet away which an ordinary person cannot do." ok, well yes that is a difference , i am at 3 feet range. "2. You can do a google search on ATP." thanks i also feel that certain herb use can open one on the inside. what do you guys think?
-
ChiDragon, can you provide a link to your ATP thread? also on a side note imo/ime one does not need to be a qigong master to emit qi. evryone has ability to do it. some will emit much stronger and smoother qi than others. i think maybe becoz i live so close to nature maybe why i experience this quicker than it seems others do? idk, but it is not a master level accomplishment just to emit and absorb qi.

Thank you for the Taoist discussion forum!

Stig, good to see you here. "I believe it will provide and much needed vibratory input to the overall site." this is one of those , i agree with you 100% SereneBlue, "There's something else I like about it." "I do not have the money to visit a Taoist temple in China. Nor anyone where I live that I can apprentice with like a Taoist priest or lineage. That means a lot of what I learn is going to be a DIY approach which means I'll be relying on a forum like this one to learn about Taoism. Especially Internal Alchemy Taoist practices which is where my main interests in it lie." you are certainly not alone. i live in rural kentucky. i am very lucky to have some kung fu bros that have evolved more into the IMA but collectively we are doing the DIY. this site also benefits a few that never log on here. it has been my experience that the more i share freely, in return more is freely shared with me. a very remarkable experience so far. -

"Why did you even bother?" yeah you got me there without a doubt i am generally indifferent to the whole thing. " to try and influence the mod direction in a positive way. Obviously I still am " well, thats cool. and its not like you have basically disagreed with every move they have made the past couple of months.. "So is anything broke?" not from my view, but , you do know more than i about it " I have been on both sides of the fence and I know " "Aye, I resigned because I couldn't in all conscience actively support the directives given to the Mod Team at that time. " something has changed? i will give you +2 for this " Why did you even bother?" as it is correct that i dont care. it would be more enjoyable for me to talk about tai chi, chi kung, etc, so i will go back to those threads. "Someone challenged me at the time that the true test of whether or not my self-importance was attached to the role was to be able to resign from the position" seriously? -
