at first i kinda had the idea similar to what Stigweard had (if it aint broke, dont fix it)but after reviewing a few threads, i do see how it could be useful to have some 'taoist" discussion area. i try not to label myself as anything particular(ist). i wouldnt want to ask the mods to take on further duties but if they are volunteering this idea, then sure.

the dream trauma thread is interesting but i don't know any of the terminology or have ever studied any of it . i do use the terms dreams, dreamworld, and my concept of astral plane. lucid dreaming? maybe i do that sometimes but i never looked up the definition for it. i also make a clear distinction between dreams and spirit world but sometimes they intermingle. a few of my kung fu bros here and i have shared dreams many times. it still continues. i have also had this experience with others from time to time. i never thought too much about it but just thought it is a curious experience.

sloppy zhang "But we CAN make a video which shows what is happening to their body as a result of that. And, depending on how far said master is willing to go in the demonstration, and how much punishment the young person is willing to take, we may be able to extrapolate that out to how a fight would go between them." nope we cannot

Gerrard, would you say there are diferent levels of fa jin? for example if someone had a sorta clumsy fa jin (relative) to another with a more refined fa jin, could the more refined guy use the clumsy guys own fa jin against him? is there a difference between fa chi and fa jin? for the record i do believe fa jin exists and can be used. i have no reason not to believe that steve f has usable(relative)fa jin. and i liked his posts. i know i went off topic as the Op suggests this needs to be somehow proven under controlled settings. i disagree with that but that is just my opinion.

good point, i recently found out that not everyone likes country! but for me , whatever gendre(did i say that right?) of music, the commercialized, over exposed "songs" i get bored with quickly. there are rare exceptions. but if i happen to like a song or not doesnt have anything to do with its popularity. -

"However, it is not admirable to get stuck in one way of being and not ever adapt of change" listen to what you are saying here "in 1993" i might have been listening to hip hop THEN wu tang and tupac there was a renaissance of sorts going on then. these guys were hard. i just dont sense that out of hip hop anymore. "as the girls flock to me with my Rocowear, Phat farm, and bling." if that is what yer into, go for it. Rocowear? i aint got a clue dude. bling aint me, to each their own, right? if we were all the same it would be kinda boring for all of us. i am in my comfort zone being with the hardest leanest meanest<<that is a party -

All I have to say about that is...Hip Hop is every style of music, and can hopefully adapt to any time and place. Hip Hop is the original and true Electro music- really? then here are your hip hop pioneers these next euroguys started playing with this in '69 which led to the de-evo-lution but why should you care if " has overtaken Hip Hop as the most popular genre" if you like it , its fine by me. but there is danger in being in the great flock /herd mentality. unless you wanna be a sheep. and suggested reading is the lryics to the following http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j5mJQGMqJvw technology is making ya'll week and strengthening the hand of the overlords http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tCvMKcNJCAY i hope you understand my final here as some of us like it RAW and refuse to ever cave in to a herd mentality, we will never be broken we are hard and dont bend over for no one no electrico BS here. but since hip hop is every style of music then i know you will appreciate -
synchronicity? a former active member bum asked me to put this on a mco thread. he said he had said that he would do a video of this for TTB . looks like he is doing fine. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7cNmHOoCoP0 i do feel micro orbit is beginning level. do i think it should be one of the first things learned? nope. but it is beginning level. i am comfortable with the fire path which i worked with first. i didnt know about the water path until later, but it came easier than the fire path. the wind path is the reverse flow micro orbit? if it is, then i have had a very few of those that happened on their own. i have never tried to initiate a wind path micro orbit. there is a thread about the wind path by Encephalon i woulda provided a link for here. if i knew how i may add it later. edit> i do the reverse breathing. never force energy or breath. i cannot advise anyone over a computer screen to do RB. but if you were here in person...

http://www.nasa.gov/home/hqnews/2011/aug/HQ_11-252_Herschel.html yeah , confirmation for those who always need a scientific confirmation. it is still understood the incredible hulk does not need oxygen to breathe in outer space david banner david banner http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Nd-MK4ESao who i'm is? so i went to hang out with a couple friends today in there? their? they're? shop. made more sense than going out on the lake on a day like today well before i knew it , they had me wearing a lightweight welding jacket and hood and gloves. handed me some 7018 sticks and pointed me to a miller(not a high life). so overhead position with hot bits of matter dropping down on me. but watching the plasma action most likey burnt my cataracts out if i visit tommorow i will take my own suede jacket and experience the dropping bits of hot matter and know how a planet must feel when small meteorites fall from space. or i may go to the lake. take my chances there. -

reincarnation blues.the only way to evolve to higher levels is to continue to cultivate. taoists enjoy life and value life. i do not judge. with a calm and a pure heart tao may be attained. it is a natural expression of harmony of tao.

i am not a medical qigong expert(or any expert) but i think the short answer is, the top burner does spread qi around using the functions of lung and heart. middle burner turns food into nutrients, functions of stomach and spleen. lower burner filters and eliminates waste with large intestines, bladder, kidneys, small intestines, and liver.

for me chapter 33 effectively summarizes the entire TTC as it is emphasizing self awareness, self-control, contentment, and (instead of ambitious i would say) aspiration. manitou made an excellent point about the danger of looking at the faults of others and not seeing our own. and i will repeat> i am surprised there was so little discussion about it. i will discuss with myself for my own benefit as i find this chapter to be that important. "knowing others can only be considered being intelligent, knowing one's own character is to attain true clarity of being" how did Lao Tzu value intelligence as compared to how he valued clarity? the more time we can spend learning about ourself and cultivating our character is attaining a higher realization. "winning over others is strong, winning over oneself is true power" i have always said the only person i am competing against is myself. it is thru introspection that we can (and it is difficult and that is why it is called "true power") remove our undesirable traits, selfishness , lusts, etc "being content is being wealthy" when i was "rolling" and had money to burn, i still was not satisfied, i wanted more and more. i certainly did not have happiness becoz of my status. i was even a bit greedy and always wanting more. now i am happy with what i have. i am content and in being content i feel "rich" (just playing baguazhang at my leisure makes me feel very rich ) it seems that things just come easier to me now i dont have to be in an agressive pursuit. and i certainly appreciate more what i do have and what folks have done for me. "to persist is to have inspiration" realizing just how profound the tao is and being active in having goals to come closer to attaining the tao. and remember that the higher the goal is proportional to the more obstacles that will be encountered. it is thru persistence that we acheive our goals and this provides inspiration to continue to do so. "not deviating from the tao is everlasting" all things come from tao. we must adhere to the principles of tao to survive. deviating from the tao results in deteriorization. "death without perishing is longevity" we live and we die , this is natural. what is important is to establish the true value of existence- the continuation of the spirit. only the spirit that is in unity with the tao is everlasting.(true longevity)

i agree with you about Te. i look at it as our actions to stay in harmony with Tao. for so many there is alot of confusion about Te. you see it clearly. when virtue is lost and we fall out of harmony with Tao then disaster is sure to follow. my thoughts are with you. stay strong brother.
