perhaps trying to express an experience of enlightenment would be hard to put into words. maybe one could try a metaphor but it probably will not come close to describing the experience. i tend to think these are tranistory by nature.

my opposite view in response to Otis' opposite view. obviously only a scientist using the scientific method(especially ones from the western world) could be expected to define the one absolute truth. after all the scientist's senses are keener, his brain faculty far superior, his experience and thoughts about his experiences certainly have a higher quality than anyone else's. even if they are philosophers or from any spiritual group. i wont even mention poets or artists as they are obviously inferior to the scientific mind. to think that someone could catch even a brief glimpse of some spiritual truth by listening to their own inner thoughts , or mind, or even a collected conscious is quite absurd. how can one trust themself anyways? unless they are a scientist! besides scientist never hold any personal bias that would cloud their vision. edit> oops sorry about the edit but i would like to add that it is certain that discerning the one absolute truth or the many truths is well within the capabilities of the scientific method.

Otis! i do hold the opposite opposite view. but only if we take Buddha out of the premise. as i am not qualified to speak about or of Buddha. but if you can expand your premise and include any mystic approach to this- your opposite view that intuition gives a better insight than scientific method. then i shall play.

Should I go to this year's Rainbow Gathering
zerostao replied to Audiohealing's topic in General Discussion
you are having a gathering?! how nice next time take a tent or a hammock at least. trees wont mind you hitching up a temporary hammock. i always take my own drinking water. gathering of rainbows all that loving light. once i was roaming around the woods , not far from my backyard. and these dudes with tie-dyed gowns were out there and they said to me "welcome home" i was like yeah , but who the heck are you? then they asked if i happened to have any peanut butter on me?? anyways i unwittingly stumbled into a rainbow gathering such is the way with serendipity. there were the naked folks running about and there were entheogens. at one moment of time they were calling me "the keeper of the stash" on the way out i encountered more folks i wasnt use to seeing out in the woods and these guys were wearing police uniforms never know what adventures await -
i was looking at a recent thread and looked back to this one. to add this ; how can it be known? to name it is presumption. it can only be spoken of in negatives. it is not this, it is not that. it is the fathomless abyss. a wilderness where no one is home. yet in the negation there is vast affirmation. in the nothingness everything is contained.

i always skipped debate class i know it shows, right?! but if i were to debate an idea or issue i think it is only right to fully examine the opposite side before i made any statement. so i have already gained some value from this thread. thanks. i found this from jung "true opposites are never incommensurables; if they were they could never unite."

How did Humans and so-called Cavemen interact in Pre-History?
zerostao replied to Immortal4life's topic in The Rabbit Hole
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neanderthal no shell casing found or bullet or weapon? motive? suspect? case dismissed. beside neanderthal man was superior to us anyways. the ultimate surivor. their mysterious mass extinction is due to them all inner cultivating to the level that they all became immortals and rode off on dragons. edit> http://www.esc.cam.ac.uk/research/research-groups/oistage3 http://www.admin.cam.ac.uk/news/press/dpp/2004112403 -
not really giving my thoughts on this particular chapter. but rather to the entire idea of a parent's TTC i have been thinking alot about unity lately. the unity of the family is a super cool(sacred) unity.

Genetically modified cows produce 'human' milk
zerostao replied to DalTheJigsaw123's topic in General Discussion
there has been alot of this type of work/experiments/research going on for awhile now. first there was animal with different animal genes and then someone came up with the bright idea to use human genes with different animals. i am sure these folks doing the research have the upmost integrity only for the useful benefit of the planet in mind. i am equally sure they have used every known safety measure possible in each and every project. interesting times, isn't it? coming soon to a location near you>> scenes from ancient greek mythology. -

just about to leave the library today. when a pickup truck pulled up with a woman and 4 kids. she explained to the librarian that she was new in town and they didnt have any food or a place to go etc...she asked if there was a place here locally that could help. the librarian told me to "mind the store" so to speak and she went to buy these folks some groceries. so hey, for the moment i am the librarian. cool little town it is.

teas are great. others here are much more knowledgable than me about teas. gerard has a nice thread about tea. herbs>> GOGI BERRIES, well i guess they are berries my translation is GO QI ginseng, garlic, ginger, fo-ti, hwang-ching, lotus, mustard, yarrow, and of course mugwort which is used in moxibustion. Li Yuen used gogi berries, foti, hwang-ching everyday and he constantly promoted reishi mushrooms.

Aaron, if it is just for debating practice, why would it have to be serious? anyways i disqualify myself as i am all about the unity of opposites. but this thread of yours is a cool idea.

lemon, persimmon, watermelon, olive, pear, papaya, apple, grapefruit, orange, banana. tangerine. sweet potato, taro, green onion, watercress, cucumber, red pepper, tomato, onion, carrot, radish, cabbage, spinach, celery. beans and tofu. pearl barley. also it is good idea to use the 5 flavors as they relate to the 5 elements. and used in balanced moderation to avoid excess. tortoise, turtle is not just for divination anymore almonds, clams, oysters, you didnt ask about herbs so i left them out. edit> but i can mention mushrooms, i reckon ALL edible and medicinal varieties. and with herbs there is a synergy effect; where when you combine , usually you get enhanced results.
