  1. Taoist Philosophy - Chapter 104

excellent words, where ever they come from.
  2. Hello everyone

howdy, always great to see a hardstyle kung fu guy find the softer path. good luck and keep enjoying.
  3. thread for off topic re-directs

many folks are aware of the I-Ching connection to the binary system our computers are based on. here are a few other things to consider , if you just have too much time on your hands. http://www.greatdreams.com/grace/1/17ichingcircle.html http://survive2012.com/index.php/dragons-dna-and-the-i-ching.html
  4. Time- what is it?

i like the model of the deck of cards dealt out on the table positioned in a figure 8. looping around and around, continous and flowing.could be reshuffled, but something about it still causes me a problem. and here in our everyday life we certainly have the present with its past/future attached all at once. we cannot assume this is a steady state of how it always is. i appreciate symbols, very useful like the symbols of mathematics. illusion is of no help to me. none what-so-ever. the oceans i have seen did have a beach or shoreline. yes they could be very deep waters spanning vast distances but they came to and end at the shoreline. or began at one. for me illusion is an evasive tactical ploy. it would be like saying our universe has always just existed or didn't have a beginning. one concept here that i have not discarded was this emergence that easy spoke of.
  5. Stupid Threads

is it subjective? if more folks are supplying non-stupid threads? there still seems to be alot of action on the other type as well.(if not more action)i do not draw any conclusion. if a thread holds interest for me (regardless of topic) i will visit it. some threads i visit for purely entertainment value only.
  6. Time- what is it?

does this ocean end/begin at the shore?
  7. Time- what is it?

Thanks MH i am sure to spend some time on that site.
  8. maybe a key ingredient to becoming a taoist immortal is to have a certain level of wealth. this will make it more dificult for me.
  9. Nei-Yeh chapter 3

this passage describes the 2 aspects of the material substance of things in the world (form). the transcendent or metaphysical(tao) and the practical or worldly(tool) it distinguishes between the metaphysical and the material or the social implications of forces that operate thru changes.
  10. Time- what is it?

cool, the figure 8 really helps. as opposed to it all just lying out in a field.
  11. Sinew-changing the Lazy Way

i like these trunk and r_v. so i will share one i do, i know it has been shared already by someone on some thread here b4. standing i rise up on the balls of my feet, wait for the pain to show up in my calves, then "sit" just on top of that spot. i extend arms straight up . fingers stretched, all joints stretched, rib cage stretched. one of its names is "standing wave" if you try it you will discover why
  12. Time- what is it?

kate asked "can I "reverse" mine and be as if none of the things that happened, happened ?" neither relativity or quantum mechanics rules this out. however there will be a multitude of paradoxes to deal with that would make the scenario unlikely. UNLESS one considers multiple realities. altho the laws of physics allows for time travel will Nature intervene to prevent it happening? this is still an open question.
  13. Time- what is it?

"everything happens all at once...all of it" time laid out in its entirety. a timescape similar to a landscape. with all past and future events located there together. no special moment of the present to be found or any process of a sequence of events? i am not saying this is false however it is going to be hard for many folks to comprehend
  14. Time- what is it?

capra really relates the physics he presents to buddhist thought rather than taoist ideas.
  15. Time- what is it?

right a deck of cards that is shuffled and re-shuffled. i will now use this example rather than my previous click & drag idea. hmmm depends on who i am talking with i reckon. but i do love a good poker game. OR maybe a concept someone could use to describe the mechanism of the I-ching 3 o'clock ? 4;19 woulda been nice. i also like kc's thought about the speed of light not being a constant ,it is a variable. here is an interesting thing (for me anyways) hg wells book about time machine came out 12 years before einstiens theory of relativity.
  16. Nei-Yeh chapters 4&5

The Way can thereby be halted. this one is hard for me to approach.
  17. What are you listening to?

i am imagining that i have my own bottle of raki and my own hookah. where is the shish ka bob ?
  18. Time- what is it?

way cool when apech and easy join in. when you stand in the now, are you at that precise moment in equilibrium where the measurable force of the past is balanced by the measurable force of future? Can the kick meditation also be used if we are looking in a mirror seeing ourself some fraction of milisecond as we were and not as we are? I got lost when " the sense of process rules" If kate could have asked a simpler question , like ,when did time actually begin and what was happening before that? We can all agree than time travel forward holds no paradox? you can skip the ad here in 3 seconds...we are familiar with the video referred to ?
  19. The Cool Picture Thread

    various light beings
  20. The archetype of the New Age

yeah. i may have to add him on facebook. Thanks again.
  21. The archetype of the New Age

ulises, have you read the red book?
  22. Time- what is it?

if you woulda only asked about hard time that einstein dude said sth about we are on a space/time fabric that can be warped by any object with mass. hmmm ok like black holes. so the current fashionable thing is ,if we not only warp it but also twist it? or can we just click and drag it and loop it back onto itself? the space/time thing is actually the 4th dimension. in 1943 there was that philadelphia experiment thing with einstein and tesla. damn that tesla was so freakin cool he passed on that year, strangely i think the classified documents(not the science part but rather what happened to the sailors) concerning much of the philadelphia experiment have been declassed, which is mind blowing in itself.
  23. Nei-Yeh chapter 3

"what is above form is called tao, what is within form is called tool"
  24. The archetype of the New Age

saddle up sister looking for the emoticon with the cowboy hat... this is a cool thread, thanks ulises
  25. Chinese law bans reincarnation?

i live in america and not under chinese law however i did wish to return as a giant panda , will i then be an outlaw panda? or not allowed to be any panda? are chinese lawyers court dockets further burdened by this?
