  1. Tao 101 - If you could recommend only ONE book ...

    i looked at the books listed. i would suggest for beginners or anyone "THE TAOIST HEALTH AND EXERCISE BOOK" by Da Liu. sometimes it is pricey on used book sites but if you have patience it can be found at a reasonable price. all Da Liu books are a good read. My first taoist book was Da Liu's "TAI CHI CHUAN AND MEDIATION" in the footnotes other great books get mentioned as well.

    hi, my taoist path is a new one. beginning about a year ago. when my breathing level was in the range of 100-200. and western medicine was of no help. an older friend of mine suggested"chinese breathing exercises" so , experimenting with various qigongs and also herbs. by spring i was up to 150-250, summer 300-450. and now 500-640. during my research i read amazing accounts of taoists, tcm theory. taichi, baguazhang, i ching. etc!!! pantheism had struck a chord with me earlier in life . it seems to me taoism has similarity. anyways, i look forward to continuing learning.
