  2. Quest for Longevity

If you like life to the point of wanting more of it; if you’ve found a way that keeps life’s struggles, disappointments, heartbreaks, horrifics, calamities, from beating you down, if you’ve reached the golden years And still yearn for more, platinum or palladium years,,, it’s not that you dread a physical death, far from it, as that is the next fantastical adventure,,, yet, for whatever personal reasons you may have,, continuing your current adventures in the physical realm remain attractive for you,,, this thread is for you. I started here in 2009, when 90+% of my breath had died. https://archive.org/details/taoisthealthexer0000dali Time for me to do a re-read and I wholeheartedly recommend ya’ll take a look at it. Da Liu never once visited a doctor and lived in good health ninety six years. Different strokes for different folks. There are a few that lived to 108+ while smoking cigars and drinking whisky; this method won’t work for everyone. Get in where you fit in. There are meditations and qigong that enable those in their seventies to feel like they’re seventeen. These gifts are bestowed, rarely, you don’t order them off google. The movie, The Green Mile touched upon some drawbacks of extended longevity. Always be careful what you wish for. I like the YouTube channel Physionic Here’s a sample episode I like Baguazhang with it’s Limitless potentials
  3. Quest for Longevity

At no point have I ever been concerned about death. I just want a clean healthy life while I'm here in the physical. Wind it back to 1926.

  5. Longevity

For a long long time. So yeah, a little bird chirped to me there is talk about TDB having a core of an older crowd. I chirped back to that little bird, stick around, you ain't seen nothing yet. Daoist Longevity Practices is definitely a thing. I'm sure talk will get around to Li Ching-Yuen. Let's start the thread by looking at DVD That's right Dick van Dyke looks at his 100 years, and he provides so many examples, lessons, thoughts, on longevity. If we imagine someone to have a positive outlook, ability to brighten up other's day, Relaxed physicality, ( if you need to see what song/sung looks like, look no further) Staying active, still goes to gym three times a week, to avoid stiffening up. And a sense of humor and a warm caring heart. This is how one gets Longevity. Yes, he is rich and that helps I'm sure. But being rich is not what defines him.
  6. What are you listening to?

I posted this 3 days ago in a thread about war, I've hidden. Thought I'd share here without comment.
  7. Longevity

Optimism, enthusiasm, positive outlook, nothing wrong with it. I like it. Still, whether believe or not, makes little difference to reality, functionality, skills, experience. Right on. My Christmas was playing with baguazhang energetics. Some of the finer and funner realities I've experienced, short of Spiritual realities. There is some overlap and cooperations. Believing and knowing, there is a difference.

  9. Martial Arts

On this site when we talk about martial arts, many may think of Asian kung fu or internal martial arts. Some may think of taiji treatises, baguazhang songs, xingyi quan poems, or The Book of Five Rings. Some May think of wooden dummies, iron hand & iron body training, even acupuncture points… Well, this thread starts off with something different.

  11. What made YOU laugh today/tonight ?

In today's world; discerning what is real or isn't, even concerning Santa is problematic,,,
  12. What made YOU laugh today/tonight ?

Maybe I had big pharma all wrong,,,,
  13. Spiritual warfare

I had thought of posting on this thread; about how, it's much more involved than choosing a side. Your short video shows that choosing a side was done for us, by Nature.

  17. Longevity

I think many/most people would agree with that. One person once, told me, 70-75. Because after that, they felt, it would just be un-needed suffering. I heard another one tell me, and they were in a quasi Daoist village, there was an old man, would walk into the village occasionally, the old guy said, he was 75. But the person telling me about it said "thing is. As a boy he remembered the same old man walking into the village saying he was 75 then. My take away; never admit being older than 75

https://www.sciencealert.com/dick-van-dyke-credits-his-longevity-to-one-habit-and-its-backed-by-science Can we really call "100" Daoist longevity? Not really, but it is a nice round number to use as a starting point. Anyways, DVD's advice is sound science; not only that, ask yourself, however long or short your lifespan is, do you want to be angry during it?
