It is interesting that a bum recently laughed at one of your posts and was threatened with being banned. and here you are laughing at another bum's post. Math is funny in a lot of ways. Somehow you are able to pick and choose which mathmagician is correct over other mathmagicians that hold an opposing view, that is interesting too. I wasn't even aware that you have a PhD in math. You do , right? apologies to the OP for my single post, I just wanted to make a single point and will take your advice and place a bum on ignore.

Teachers who accept money vs. teachers who teach for free
zerostao replied to sillybearhappyhoneyeater's topic in Daoist Discussion
I am not asking anyone anything. I don't need to. I am not looking for a student, and if I were, they would have to be open-minded and sincere. For me, those are the two indicators of success, and without those, it's just a waste of time and energy. I don't even care about money; I do care about time and energy (your's and mine). If you review your posts and mine, you're the one making assumptions, not me. Nothing wrong with critical thinking at all and why would a "guru" object to that? You're assuming that they would. You're new on the site, and I'm just helping point you in a direction that you resonate with. That's all. We shared a little time and energy with each other. Again, best wishes to you with your search to find the right school for You. Ignore or explore my recommendations if you like, it doesn't really matter to me either way. -
Teachers who accept money vs. teachers who teach for free
zerostao replied to sillybearhappyhoneyeater's topic in Daoist Discussion
Like I said, it is damn hard to find a student who has an open mind and sincerity. I think the Taoist Yoga and/or mo pai schools would be happy to add another student such as yourself. my Wu tells me that you're a perfect fit for either of those. Best of luck to you as you progress along your journey. -

It is equally hard to find an open minded student who has sincerity. -
About Taoist Yoga: Alchemy and Immortality
zerostao replied to andrew1139's topic in General Discussion
may be one or two dao bums or may be one or two people that ever read the book and followed its practices (and had access to information not hidden by this book)? we are talking about this book? yes? https://www.amazon.com/Taoist-Yoga-Kuan-Charles-Luk/dp/0877280673 which is translated by a Buddhist and not a Daoist and I am not saying the book is worthless, it is written in a Q & A format and many of the Q's are not provided with A if we read the countless threads on TDB regarding this book, it becomes clear this is a difficult book to endeavor may be the OP start another thread and ask for book recommendations -
About Taoist Yoga: Alchemy and Immortality
zerostao replied to andrew1139's topic in General Discussion
Since you asked for an opinion, mine is if it does work and it could but I doubt it works in one (or several) lifetimes. There will be bums come here and sing its praises, its their opinion as well because none of them have achieved what that book (claims to) offer. The opinion is free, take it fwiw -
ya man it's okay. we're all vulnerable in one way or another.

When China supplants the USA as the lone world superpower sometime between next month and 2050 99% of liberal morality will have vanished, and the left will long for that old tweeting liberal orange dude with the wang haircut. But the economy (Chinese) will be booming, the remnants of the USA may be receiving foreign aid from Africa.

What have I done to you? What have I done for you?
zerostao replied to Taomeow's topic in The Rabbit Hole
I am trying to imagine being away from the forum for an extended time, returning to find Taomeow gone, wow. Somehow, it all started at a dialogue between her and me; I still can't believe it went down as it did. I took a six week or so silent protest (perhaps 6 months would have been more appropriate). Only a small handful of bums openly expressed support for Taomeow. For the sake of trying to heal, I don't want to mention the other rudeness she was subjected to. Other than sean, it is hard for me to think of a member who has given more to this site than her. Brian, it is good to see you again, you have been missed, I wish your return didn't have to find this unfortunate situation. -
That seems like an odd thought, why would you think that? I highly doubt she is sitting around fretting any about this site.

Thank you!

The Neiye is about breath, meditation, qi cultivation and the cosmology those are based on. The title breaks down to basically to internal work.

Xbalanque and Hunahpu are the Mayan twins. Anyways, Lemmy is cool and all--- but so many have covered that song. Somewhere exists the original. Yeah, Kipling. Don't forget Shelley, Byron, Coleridge, some dude named Milton too. They all had something to say as did The Bard. But when Marlowe put Faustus on the stage there were widespread eye witness accounts of actual devils appearing on stage. " The powerful effect of early productions of the play is indicated by the legends that quickly accrued around them—that actual devils once appeared on the stage during a performance, "to the great amazement of both the actors and spectators", a sight that was said to have driven some spectators mad." IDK, Lyle Lovett says the devil drives a coupe de ville around Nashville dispensing little pills. Can't say if the dude is real or not; he continues to make appearances in literature, song, poetry, it's like he has a good pr man or agent. It's like he struck a good deal. edit>> Charles Bukowski shared a jail cell with him in LA, I think the story goes.
