~~~ SPLIT BY STAFF ~~~ Where is s the outrage over the DNC and Hillary rigging the primaries? That has to rank as one of the most heinous crimes against democracy. So, talk about Trump, I reckon. If the Democrats would clean up their own mess, there could be a chance to win the mid-terms in 2018 or the 2020 Presidential race. By refusing to rail against Hillary and the DNC you're pretty much handing Trump a re-election. So keep bitching about Trump and give Hillary a free pass. My comments are aimed at the Democrats on this thread, not towards windwalker.
It's pointless to be right in most cases anyhow. Leucippus and Democritus were right but were out-argued by Aristotle. So, it took humanity and science 2000 years to overcome that. Here on TDB, we can argue that war is wrong and if by some unprecedented occurrence all bums on that thread agree. So what? It's not like war is going away. I've taken a break or two from the site. And I expect to continue here as long as it remains possible to do so. There is a sense of community here that I doubt can be found on any other site. Excepting maybe a Mormon site, I saw where someone brought up Mormons. They probably have a sense of community but will you find the quirkiness there that one single bum embodies? You won't. This place is special. TDB is a refuge, a sanctuary. It gets rough and tumbles, sure, and when close held notions get seriously challenged, it takes a toll sometimes. This week I had a knee give me fits, I stepped in a hole while walking to town. Each day it got worse, and I ended up having to eat about 40 of those black tea pills a day and pouring jow straight out of the bottle on it. I had been humbled and forced to walk like a normal person, not like the bagua bum that I have become. It is a painful experience and one that I will get over. I could cry over it, I've come close to doing just that. I have to take a break from my circle walking for a bit which gave me time to think about other things, which led me to battle with nihilistic thoughts. Politics is frustrating for us all, I am sure. Reading about how the Pacific ocean is a dead zone and how all of the environmental laws have been overturned for more fossil fuel are types of things that could crush me. Luckily, there is a treasure trove of great threads all over the site. Many long forgotten and gathering dust waiting for some random bum to come along and knock the dust off and rediscover the magic. Even share it and/or add to it. And who put those magical threads there? Bums did. When it comes down to it and all looks bleak, I want to be in the company of bums. It doesn't matter if we agree on politics or not, or if we agree much on anything. We're bums. Luke, you're a bum. Rails you're a bum. It's us bums; it's us! Joeblast if you're reading this, you're a bum too.
I do want to mention that my previous post is not speaking to the merits of gun control or gun access. It addresses the reality of the situation. We live in a country that has more guns than it has citizens. That is a fact. They are not just going to vanish just because some people decide hey these guns were a bad idea. I respect that TDB is somewhat of a spiritual forum/space. However, we cannot ignore unpleasant realities. Hey Rene, how is the mod thing going?! Hang in there!
From my taiji perspective, It could be the relationship between this world and the "other." Transcending of consciousness from one dimension to another. The play between yin-yang is evolving; Jing is where the materialist is, and Qi actualizes all the possibilities between Heaven and Earth. It isn't about the root or the head; it is the relationship between the two. Those that are conscious of Qi dimension can subtly direct their life flow. Still very mortal with some awareness, still affected by entropy. Look at Rene's archer, resting in silent gratitude, residing in the heart, ready to transcend entropy and become self-determined. The inner state appreciates and expresses in actions, not words. The heart understands the importance of the archer's accuracy. It is the parent and child of ten thousand things.
With a reported net worth of 95 million, he didn't need the money, yet kept playing till the end. He must've liked what he was doing. His last gig was at the Hollywood Bowl (and is included in this post), seems fitting. How many sang along with ol' Tom, quite a few, I reckon.
Mexico city -- earthquake -- Liminal Luke, check in please?
zerostao replied to Taomeow's topic in The Rabbit Hole
The earthquake I referenced was in the 90s and possibly could have been in Mexico? I liked how the thread prompted me to have a cool memory of dad. There was a well-trusted reporter covering the lights, and he was saying ufo. And my thought too until dad mentioned the coming earthquake. He went with the piezoelectric activity due to the tectonic movement theory, and it seems he may have been correct. And yes/maybe with the one in Kalapana although I was thinking Peru in the 70's. I can't help you with earlier than that. In the 70's it was easy to think ufo, I mean they were everywhere. The lights from your video in Mexico City look very different than the ones I remember. The link I posted mentions the piezoelectric idea, and it may not be the prevailing idea, but it is building up a track record. -
Mexico city -- earthquake -- Liminal Luke, check in please?
zerostao replied to Taomeow's topic in The Rabbit Hole
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Earthquake_light once(years ago) there were mysterious lights over peru and many were saying it was ufo related. me and my dad were watching the news about it, and my dad said "don't be surprised if an earthquake hits there soon" sure enough a major earthquake hit in a few days. cool that bums check on bums when we hear of disasters hitting. maybe 3 years ago there was a gal from the philippines that was posting regularly , about escrima and some esoteric martial "passwords" there was a major typhoon hit the city she lived in and she hasnt posted here since (that i am aware of) also, since we have heard from luke, ok it's time for someone to 'fess up, all of these floods, hurricanes, fires, tigers roaming interstates etc whoever is playing Jumanji, cut it out -
there have been a few changes to a lyric here or there over the years, the 1970's changed to 20th century, then to 21st century. when dolly or emmylou sing it, "felt like i could cry" instead of "felt like getting high" the essence of the song/message remains true. over on the famous philosopher thread there isnt an option for uncle neil or auntie emmylou. anyways, here is a remastered version of the original, good to go to the beginning of a lineage when one can, i think and yes this thread was extraterrestrial from the start, look at the OP's name, kinda a big clue lol
Which famous philosopher do you most agree with?
zerostao replied to phil's topic in The Rabbit Hole
I got Empedocles but i had high importance on hexameter verse. Apparently no Buddhists have taken the poll, I haven't seen Schopenhauer on anyone's list. or Rousseau, Voltaire, Descartes, nor any French or any Huxleys. and no Hegel. good grief -
Here is how we're going to look to any space traveling beings even two hundred thousand years more advanced than us, let alone a billion.
