special relativity and quantum mechanics do not always follow such common sense approaches both have paradoxes concerning 'time' edit>> a journey of 1000 miles begins with that first step (to paraphrase laozi !

but did you read the book?

20th century science certainly allows for physical time travel both in einstein's universe and in the quantum edit>> the bolding of 20th and i will add even in the late 19th century right around 1895 when wells outlined einstein's 1905 relativity thesis was wells able to do this becoz he actually had a time machine?

you are the steward of off topic? i'd like to hear what karl thinks-- he may think time travel is socialism, idk. where is the time boundary line of the point of no return? or you are suggesting my bagua is no defense to dinosaurs? am i able to travel to the past and the future? or just one or the other? if i travel to the past can i effect changes in destiny? or just observe? is time travel a valid natural philosophy topic? i think it is did aristotle consider time travel? i hope sagan makes an appearance

the time varying thing time is personal, i think a taoist view could agree with that and for a scientists view being the same, that time is personal, kip thorne of caltech says the same thing i thought about starting a time travelling thread here in off topic is time travel fair play on this thread? or start another

thanks MS for your service and to the new mods and wilfred too. i think that catches me up i'd like to share why i feel 8 months is a good turn around time for the member to mod back to member experience. first, the risk of burnout to the valued member/volunteer and trusted enuff by the community that they were allowed to the dungeon to keep this place going.(while the rest of us leisurely carry on) i wasnt the first to sense the burnout risk. cheya, when myself and thelerner were being considered for mod duty, expressed the concern. and i have observed we do have former mods that for whatever reason stay away from our community. burnout seems a likely reason. and losing valued trusted members is felt by the community. second, i like the idea of having more bums involved in the process and a rotation allows for that. i think the rotation idea came from trunk, or him and? either way good idea. the more of us that are involved makes the community stronger. dawei already mentioned our diversity, so i will skip that this is a very unique community here long live the dao bums

give it up, it is apparent that even if the new batch of released wiki emails or the next batch due out just before the election, (to gain maximum effect, according to wiki) show that yes, hillary did lie to the fbi, congress, and the american people, or if any of these recent or past dead bodies turn up evidence pointing at the clintons, or that(and i think the proof has already been given) pay for play access was granted along with granting the desired results that bribes to the clinton foundation paid for allowing weapons to be sold to the worse of human rights violators so those brutal dictators may use the weapons on their own people if they dare to peacefully protest,,,, she will still win and be our queen for the next 8 years...it is a very bleak outlook and we are going to have to deal with it. assange was given a not so subtle warning today,, oligarchy has defeated democracy in america the election is rigged and was from the beginning all of this seriously taints obama's time as president as he enabled her at every step of the way

wow that is so off topic marblehead! this is a hillary and trump thread, exclusively. just like the entire primary process and the upcoming general election. here, in kentucky, it only takes 5,000 signatures to get a candidate on the ballot for the presidential election. jill hasnt quite made it there yet. this week i will add my name, hopefully get her on the ballot, and then, i would vote for jill. but then, i tend to vote as subversively as possible. well, i dont vote, but if i did,,and i may vote for jill just becoz,, speaking of subversive, and a commie to boot, and perhaps the most Liberal of philosophers the past fifty years or so, slavoj zizek has some stunning words for hillary supporters http://www.patheos.com/blogs/cosmostheinlost/2016/08/17/slavoj-zizek-theres-a-special-place-in-hell-for-clinton-consensus-supporters/
