"You're kidding right ?" i reckon it has been awhile since i posted my disclaimer, that unless i say "i am serious" in a very serious tone, then i am kidding around here. "around 1900. It's why the USA is dying " very slow death, maybe the morphine drip is placebo? if usa is dying financially? where does that place everyone else? 6 feet under already? i remember radio free europe i have posted several carlin and pink floyd videos on the forum. but rosie the riveter could probably kick george in the butt and make him like it. "Your government feed you with the somatic illusion of prosperity" they are good at it, in fact the illusion is so strong, i am able to book a flight to basically anywhere on the planet and go hang out whever i chose. my limits come from the other nations saying how long my visa stay is good for. being here in the backwoods of appalachia, no reason to leave, its bountiful here to the extreme. friendly folks having good times living the good life. apple pie, chevy, you name it, we got it. even ray bans from china! so yeah 1900, we learned our lessons with the coal and railroad barons long ago, no need to tell us how evil capitalism can be. counties here go by names like bloody harlan,,,so pretty much everything going on elsewhere now, we've already been thru. that dog dont hunt chear no more. we are 'other' back on copperhead road we make our own shine, smoke, wine, grow our own food, houses been paid for 50-100 years earlier,, i am sure the evil empire is alive and well and up to its old tricks but here all that really is on our mind is where to find that 90 year old 'sang and in summer usually romance, or fishing on the river or boating out on the lake. o brother where are you from? your english, is it your first language? seems a little broken sloppy, but high haint no professor, i gotcha, its all good in the woods.

fifty years ago today LBJ signed into law medicare and medicaid, maybe that is about as close as usa has come to socialism?
-
brian the lion, i am so glad you are not cecil the lion rip anyways back to laughter
-
america always has had a great model socialism in place if you are rich for everyone else--you best be a rugged individualist
-
agreed. how is crony capitalism any different than feudalism? on both---it is an elite group of barons (or macaronis) benefiting receiving 90% of the capital while everyone else is sent to serfdom. with socialism,,again, i have no idea what that means, except it is an alternative to crony capitalism/feudalism, i really do not see how you are calling socialism neo-feudalism. or why the neo? it is straight up feudalism we have in place now, same as it ever was except for brief moments of history when people rose up against the oppressors. i can accept that you are fine with the current system that works wonderfully well for the koch ssuckers and not so much for working families. and i find it ludicrous how gendao continues to bring up family this and that and at the same time is fine that in america 1/5 of children live below the official poverty level. like karl says-- capitalism is capital and socialism is people. the current supreme court supports capitalism even to the extreme--saying money is people and free speech, despite the obvious blatant contradiction in such a statement. i think my position is well known, i am for people. up with people and to hell with macaronis. i have a feather they can stick in their....cap btw, today the imf told europe to crank up the printing presses, europe is sinking fast. there is a indian middle class waiting to be created. i kinda anoticed as well how several european countries are increasing their military spending to unprecedented "peace time" levels, crony macaronis need fed and no matter how full their plate they have a ravenous appetite that cannot be satisfied. there is only one announced candidate in the us that would actually slash military spending and he happens to be a socialist. edit> cap

becoz, i look at feudalism as what is being practiced by the corporate oligarchy of the multi national corporations in collusion with the banksters and current politicians all espousing capitalism in the so called free trade model. the only "welfare" going on is this arrangement is provided to the multinational corps thru the export-import bank.
-
idk brian, i dont see govt going away. and if we are to have a govt, which we do and most likely will continue to have in place, then, i like the idea of a govt that works equally well for the welfare of all, rather than the few billionaires.

i hadnt even thought about that. for my own benefit i like a harmonious balance between physical mental spiritual kinda like a jing qi shen shu tai chi wu chi taoist idea like Jung understood
-
were? used? you no longer practice or cultivate? did you ever have a physical component to your practices? my idea , crude as it is, is that meditation/mind stuff needs to be balanced with a physical practice such as tai chi or bagua, otherwise can get too caught up in the head and maybe a little unbalanced
-
karl do you do any daoist cultivation or practices, in your many posts, that i have read, i never have seen this mentioned. apologies for asking what you may have already posted somewhere else. edit>spelling

thanks cobi for starting this thread, a thread that i look forward to participating in, that is not in the off topic section! lol Jung was a brilliant trailblazer of mind idea ideal and saw the value of eastern wisdom thought philosophy cultivation. studying and commenting on it, making it available to a western audience. the golden flower, the I Ching, etc for purely Jungian ideas, synchronicity, the collective unconscious, shadow, syzygy embedded archetypes, for starters. i mean who does not recognize fuxi and nuwa as syzygy?

greeks? i like iceland's approach. you are quite the collector, karl, my advice is quit reading plato, aristotle and rand. keep painting, writing, trolling, aspire to bum life. let go of your notion of "truth" and try to exercise your subjective thought process. get out of your box. it's fun out here

there are bad players everywhere.i began playing when i was 4 or 5 for pennies. but hey a nickel was a snickers, a dime a mountain dew in a glass bottle>>the gateway drug for sure. a quarter i could go see a new release movie in an air conditioned theatre. also a nickel bought a cherry bomb and free complimentary box of matches. cigarettes were cheap too.
-
rand, plato, aristotle,,well that explains it for me. i shouldve known. glad to read that you are writing. perhaps it's not totally hopeless for you. you're writing plenty here on this forum, thanks for sharing and giving it all for free.
-
some of what you say makes sense karl. it is all speculative in any rate. if a big collapse occurs i am glad to be where i am. not much will change here. this: "what job you do." kinda went way over my head, whoosh. i'm a bum. i think maybe i just trolled you becoz you spoke ill of jung on another thread. no worries. and maybe it was easy being a bum in america and living a rich lifestyle in the 20th century, its still easy in the 21st, in fact in many ways it's even easier. much cheaper products flooding in from everywhere else. keep up the good work ya'll in the meanwhile i will wonder if i ever meet up at some random poker table with ralis this is my poker face>>

very revealing post on your part. sad that you come to this conclusion because you lack the capacity to understand great minds like freud or jung. hint, they are still be studied intensely. their books are still being read. what did you ever write that has reached a level of theirs?
-
appalachia is the richest area of diverse natural resources on the planet. the barrons have know all along. but we have hatfields and mccoys. enter at your own risk

there is always irony. america is the luminescent beacon shining forth light to the rest of the world. pretty much has been since it's birth. seriously or playfully , it is what it is.
-
it was an easy thing to do. all it took was america sacrificing it's middle class to enable china to have a middle class. cheap products are not necessarily a good thing. i think the "massive trauma" thing has been way overstated, in fact in america our "poor" people do quite alright. if one in america is at our official poverty level that still equates to being in the top 10% of wealthy folks on this planet. having non americans telling us to cut our military and/or restructure our economy is amusing. it is easier for the rest of the world to adjust to the american way, truth, justice, etc than for america to adjust to the world's ways. let's keep it real. talk about illusory gg
-
it's over? past tense not present? damn i had a few more things to add. i guess i will close out my contribution to this thread by saying as an american, appalachian hillbilly to be specific, i reckon i do not know what a socialist is and so forth. how many frogs are in the pond?

"Bernie Sanders - Hey, that's not fair! They should cost 90% of the top 10%, and be free for everyone else! *90% roars in applause* he is looking to tax billionaires , the top 10% of the top 1%, not the top 10% your analogy does not represent what bernie is out to accomplish. do you support mitt romney paying a lower tax rate than marblehead? do you support all the corporate welfare this country dolls out to the super rich- the ones who sent the jobs overseas? and chose to hire illegal immigrants here. that welfare dwarfs any welfare totals the poverty stricken receive. most of the theft occurs from the banksters, the corporations, in collusion with the current politicians. if we cant take them to the gullotine, or send them to prison, we should at least tax them
