  4. Socialism does work

it happens on this forum. i quit posting in the taoist section becoz of this very reason, the same 1 -3 members would paraphrase what i posted into something with an entirely different, often contradictory meaning. or they would claim i said something another member had said. it is frustrating, so i quit posting in that section altogether edit > spacing edit to add, i dont think brian was a mod during my issues.

  7. Greece is not being asked to swallow many bitter pills in exchange for a realistic plan of economic revival, they are asked to suffer so that others in the European Union can go on dreaming their dream undisturbed. 9. to the op again, i think friday's 50 billion gain by google, yup upped their score fiddy bill in one day-- so i dont reckon we can compare anything usa to the greek situation. i feel bad for the greeks and i think they got the short end of the stick becoz they trusted europa, and i wonder why europa did not invest into greece creating jobs, so they could pay their bills?? never the less, i have noticed the actions, and realize that maybe america doesnt do everything better than other countries, there is a thread ongoing abt that, but what other countries do worse than america,, has me glad to be sitting here where i am.
  10. US law enforcement gone to hell

i have begun to understand (it took time, as you know) that left wing is the anti fascism. left wing is the champion of the common people---and to be left wing takes huge amount of courage as opposed to the timidity of right wingers who hold to old out dated belief systems.

  12. What do other countries do better?

it is lovely and charming down there for sure. i have a few mountain friends along the tn/nc boundary. it was about a mile up me and my cuz came upon elk on black balsam. when cuz told my uncle he was taking me along for a ride down there, my uncle said "dont take zero(he didnt say zero but rather my first and middle name)down there--he will never come back." both my sisters visit brevard, well almost every year. if any american dao bum went on a type of pilgrimage wandering--then these appalachians probably should be included. ifin ya like wild flowers, old growth forests, panoramic views, some of those you will have to work for haha.. all of appalachia is special. west virginia is called wild and wonderful for a reason. when i crossed the appalachians in virginia on my way to XYP initiation,,that trip was magical.on a scale of 1-10, probably around, 16. and i always invite bums to come visit, every now and then one will actually show up.
  13. and why not i join you gentlemen of the code. just walked down town, saw a friend on the tavern cafe street patio. went to the corner and spoke with him and then i almost stepped in, mustve leaned like i was going to -- the owner stepped out and said "nope!" ok, i said, then she said "when i kick you out, it is for two weeks" i deserved it, i said. then she said, "i kicked out darryl and"...she named a few other names,,i reckon i was supposed to know who she was talking about. i didnt. she said "you coulda got us shut down that night" anyways, i stuck my hand out and told her my name and that i was sorry. and told her she did me a favor, becoz, i was a little too cheerful that night, and about to get generous.. i guess it's kinda like being suspended here, there is always another place to go, maybe i'll grab another water and walk some more,,,,,weather feels nice out. oh, i didnt start this thread btw, but its in the off topic section and i am known to frequent such places
  14. i'm cool with a thread wherever it is, i freely roam the forum boundaries, excepting the female section, i never ventured there even when it was possible to do so. @brian, not suggesting, just observing, and perhaps letting my thought on it be seen for feedback, it isnt even an opinion, but i think the world at large is now starting to see the real effects of the 2008 event that has been propped up artificially by the banks, we all cannot continue to live on credit, or can we?? excuse me it isnt called credit, but rather monetary accommodation edit lol monetary accommodation for the wealthy countries and loans for the not so well off,,kinda rigged from my view, which is no surprise
  15. i thought so too at the first post. i thought too that perhaps the wall street swindle of 2008 has had as much to do with greece's financial state as anything. apech points out that the greek crisis probably began in 2001 when they joined the euro. that too. these 2 events more than anything i think have led to where greece is now. they probably thought joining the euro , the strength in numbers, so to speak, would provide some type of safety net,,which for sure did not happen. so the greek tragedy fatal flaw i think, is the greeks trusted their euro partners to absorb any member states woes particular to any event , such as the 2008 wall street swindle of countless trillions,,sucked up out of the world's economy directly trickled up to the upper elite. interesting i think as well, how instead of the euro community rallying around a wounded member, instead the choice was to ostracize the fallen member. instead of helping heal the wounded, instead, offer only more of the same medicine that actually caused the illness in the first place. doesnt make sense. and is interesting i think as well if we consider nato and the thought of collected safety net, due to the strength in numbers idea, if any one single member is attacked , all the other member states will defend and protect the wounded fallen one. well now, the idea sounds all fine but the reality seems to be that in fact, if a nation finds the going tough in a financial crisis--they could very well be kicked to the curb.. so, i doubt if any member state, if it is a smaller poorer one,is actually attacked that nato would respond.. much of the world is built like a house of cards...
  16. or tenderly, compassionately, energetically, reasonably, thoughtfully, playfully, or a myriad other reasons too edit> becoz, more often than not marblehead is top poster and i rarely see him aggressive, well sometimes lol but not usually 2nd edit>> i reckon another reason would be philisophicaly haha
  17. What do other countries do better?

strokes chin,,Azerbaijan??... i've never been to a caspian beach Appalachia has the oldest mountains. some parts of appalachia may be american while other parts are definitely not. i have worn numbeo out trying to find places less expensive to live than my neck of the woods in appalachia to no avail. and if a certain million acre forest is not to your taste, no worries, right beside it is another million acre forest, then another,,, farmer's markets,,drive onto almost any farm to shop for fresh our shine and 'sang is unbeatable and often packaged together. if you happen to like mandolins, fiddles, guitars, banjos,,hey
  18. Personality after death

if You are looking for evidence doesnt it make sense that You should be the one to try it yourself? are You presuming that i havnt done such a thing? great thinkers always look to the ancients, da vinci is one example. if you are going to wait on your belief system "science" to prove spirituality before you are open to the idea, well, most likely you will be experiencing it firsthand on the other side before that ever happens. edit> but your post does hint that you may be open minded abt it. my suggestion is learn for yourself rather than going by what others are reporting. pioneers and discoverers are always in the extreme minority or thought heretic
  19. naw, i like reading the feedback and your perspective.
  20. well i posted like hell trying to become the top poster so i could answer "what does it mean" that clever mh, everytime i posted-- responded to my posts! not sure how to overcome that tactic lmao
  21. Which books sit on your nightstand?

at the moment reading this one http://www.amazon.com/Hermits-Story-Stories-Rick-Bass/dp/0618380442/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1436458734&sr=1-1&keywords=the+hermit%27s+story&pebp=1436458735859&perid=0V281GKB52RZ1QCB4HX1
  22. " In Australia, for instance, there are more comprehensive welfare safety nets and these are politically untouchable." in usa it was thought at one time that our safety nets were politically untouchable too http://www.snopes.com/POLITICS/QUOTES/ikesocial.asp to answer the OP how long? well, if greek civilization peaked 700 bce and they are just now in this shape usa would have another 2000 + years right? yeah right
  23. Personality after death

so you are prejudiced against the ancients who were decidedly closer to nature and elements than we are? and you dont have to travel the astral planes to meet former physical folks. what i bolded, i totally agree with. your oneness concept, while interesting, is still speculative. and it could be true contingent on time,, newly "graduated" folks may retain their personality for who knows how long before entering this oneness you present. ?? i think there are many posters who post based on direct experience on this forum
