"De is life-bestowed by Dao." thats my view and why i said Te is power. i wouldnt say Te is merit either. and my questions are rhetorical "It is Metaphysical Dao which connects us to Heaven and Earth, and Mystical De which connects us to Mankind." i like this and it speaks to the power i refer to. excellent post dawei, the other rhetorical question i have is can a true taoist alter their own fate/destiny ? -

virtue is connectedness, and i appreciate the poetic "it is bliss but bliss is far to mild - it is a piercing ray of connectivity finer than the most unutterable fineness." that is some fineness. does the connectedness virtue have to be like you say tho? couldnt it rest in equanimity and indifference as well? as long as the connectedness is there? -

reflections can be found in the shadows, as well as shadows can be found in the reflections. does good efforts/works of compassion lead to virtue ? or does one need to be virtuous before they do the good efforts/works of compassion ? compassion also comes in many different flavors. merit is also in play here. my pov te is power, one has power; capability and capacity to acts of kindness. its the little things that often go unnoticed that matter -

not sure where in usa ya'll are at or visited; saying there are no friendly or helpful people ? everywhere i have traveled in usa total strangers were willing to lend a helping hand with a smile on their face. i have never once traveled inside the usa to a place i would consider unfriendly, some threads on ttb mention mirrors or reflecting,, maybe sth to that afterall

interesting imagery and commentary. we each have our own perspective, each of our lenses are unique. i see poetry very different than anyone else. i see poetry at the opposite end of the spectrum as philosophy in language. and i see Laozi as poet rather than philosopher. i only mention this becoz we all have our own ideas about this stuff and whether or not i can tell to a materialist (and i have !! LOL) that materialism died around 1880 ce according to the scientific community,, it makes no difference in the enjoyable conversations, exchange of ideas, giving , taking, sharing that happens here on ttb each and every day do i really care if a chair is solid or exists as long as i have a way to use the chair when i need to?

we have structure and agency, people can 'vote' by choosing to move where the climate better suits their individuality, those choices are dwindling if you havnt noticed. the political choices we have are very discouraging and reflected by the voter turnout. the senator that my state returned to dc, mcconnell, trust me, very few here in ky actually like this guy, we know he is a problem, and yet, what choice were we really presented with to oust him? the entire g20 was just a pick on putin because he wont bow down to the bankster/corporatists that have every politician in their hip pocket the defacto rule of law is complete corruption and it isnt much of a secret
