i wonder if you re-read the greek mythology and the ancient greek philosophy and ancient greek poetry now if your view and understanding would be different? i just read a faulkner piece with a entirely different view than when i read it 4 years ago. as a true bum on this forum recently said to me "we dont ever step in the same river twice" which of course is a reference to heraclitus, and for me it was insightfully profound on multiple levels. it isnt that we are looking to believe in anything is it? some of these ideas and thoughts from the ancients still ring provoking and profound, to me anyways. my recent university studies, an idea keeps recurring no matter which genre of study i am in. there is a common thing repeats. doesnt matter if it came from the mayan, the bible, the greeks, native americans, or from the east. heraclitus was one heck of a great taoist thinker imo,, unity of opposites, ever present change in the universe, but what keeps repeating is even those stoics considered logos as the divine animating principle pervading the universe. i read some jung and he has things to say about it too. i think even nietzsche affirmed heraclitus in his remarks concerning shopenhauer

yes HE is the rod i was referring to ! he makes good jow and ages it b4 he sells it. not that many jows can be used right away or even in less than a year. i never use anything aged less than 2 years "notice where rod had broken" so actually rod's breaks were where scott began and built upon. also you may want to pm me edit>. i also like shanes backhand slap where he breaks 2 blocks while holding an egg in the striking hand without breaking the egg. breaking blocks is addictive, it costs $$ and remember the backlash i mentioned. in lee ying-arngs book iron palm in 100 days lee tells of a roommate he had who could break a red brick after a month of practice, good right? except it also caused heart damage.
-
proper iron hand training is healthy for the hands. it prevents and repairs arthritis, carpal tunnel, it strengthens the tissue, muscle, tendons, bone. you cannot enter into training like this haphazardly. making your own jow without herbal knowledge? the bigger risks to your health by doing iron hand training is to your eyes, heart, liver etc the term backlash applies. you need to know how to send energy effectively, safely, smoothly you need equanimity while playing this. never ever strike while angry or upset. treat it like an energy practice becoz that is what it is. dont play after eating or drinking allow some cool down time edit to add some promo of my friend, you will notice where rod had broken a bunch of concrete blocks and scott takes the broken remains, half the length, making it tougher to break and he used these to play with. always resourceful and these vids are dated and scott has gone to new levels

from wikipedia Iron Palm is a broad term covering many different conditioning methods. Some Iron Palm systems are considered internal and others are purely external in training methods. Martial artists who practice Iron Palm training are not unified in their training and techniques. Some teachers treat their Iron Palm methodology as a valuable secret, and only share their specific techniques, training methods, and herbal remedies with a select few. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iron_Palm

yes there is internal iron hand training. also never use a jow that comes in a plastic bottle for serious training. consider when you watch someone 'break' what type of chi kung that they did before stepping up to do the break.

my take on this thread is that we should not have arrived at any conclusions manitou. too much enfolded not unfolded yet for conclusions. we should keep questioning as mh points out. and mh when one is at the top they (not the "they" mentioned but in this case you) become a target edit>> spelling and to add i never try to piss anyone off, i do try to let folks see in a different light, perhaps brighter, perhaps grayer, idk really

prophecy or cause in an interchangeable way perhaps?(surreal synchronicity) Working Class Hero is a powerful song , isnt it? so many have covered that song. i think the version found on Broken English is downright masterful and works in tandem with the title song(Broken English) perfectly speaking to "they" and they keep us all doped on religion, sex, on the tv. i wont post either yt presentation on this thread but i will in off topic anarchy. messages found it these two songs get swept away quickly by "they" and they are fine either way if we choose to believe in religion or atheism, both keep the status quo. the ones that question is who they fear

i have been reading a little lately on how a person's blood type is a factor to consider concerning what diet to choose. organic, fresh, wild, and free range for me. i have moved to grass fed beef, bison, or wild deer to satisfy the red meat part. edit>> i do consume a lot of herbs too.

http://www.weather.com/news/science/tobacco-plants-fight-ebola-20141016 i'm not paranoid about being on any 'list' lol however ebola is being brought to kentucky. a canadian firm already has a cure not fda approved of course. edit>>but i'm sure the rich and selected politicians will have access. http://healthmap.org/site/diseasedaily/article/did-scientists-just-discover-cure-ebola-62212 -
at around the official change of the seasons on recommendation from a friend i decided to resume sunrise practice. and since that decision there have been 2 mornings without rain or heavy cloud cover.
-
and you are open minded enuff to reserve the right to change your mind. me either. do we agree that there is much that is enfolded that is yet to be unfolded? so we all are still in at least partial darkness of shadows. i am saying that subjective admits to being speculative and objective is a bit stubborn about this.
-
pure objectivity is discredited except by popper. even the arch-logical positivist carnap with his 11 axioms understood the value of subjectivity and in fact endorses it. there is a "new materialism" we are now in the 21st century and the old materialism way of looking at things/objects died about 1880. rip there is the ebb and flow between art, philosophy, and science that continues and will continue to unfold new insights and revelations. the fluxes travel like clouds,, mind and matter, nature and culture, reality and imagination. in 1950 turing said critical is better than critique. and going critical refers to critical mass and europe always uses a different valence than america. critique is always too easy and is no longer the tool we need to deal with what we are now facing. as i type a single neutron is heading towards and will enter a critical sample of nuclear material causing a branch chain reaction exploding with new ideas. these will find different waves to modulate upon and there will be variance. john lennon is an example of a legend turning into myth. he prophesized his own shooting. i would post lennon's Mind Games but on this forum i already have at least twice.

YOU could have chosen to attend a trade school specific to fit your goal. if you desire a university degree with all the rights, privileges, and honors thereunto appertaining then you certainly need to appreciate, respect, and study the humanities. choices and actions--you could learn about existentialism in humanities courses.
-
what exactly is "that job" ?? i reckon we dont need humanities in our schools anyways. we should all become mindless drone workers who live to work and work to live, the rest is just nonsense. and we should work beside other drone workers. emotionless and without passion. without anything to talk/think about except the work task at hand. its not like we are humanity so why should we care about humanities ! bleh-eck besides when a.i. robots take over and control everything let them study humanities i have no desire to at all,,,humanities what a bunch of hogwash edit>>once there was a great visionary named pol pot who when he came to power decided to kill the doctors and lawyers, the artists, writers, educators, and intellectuals. his plan was to wipe out all cultural identity and the humanities. now i certainly dont condone violence such as murder and torture like the great pol pot but if we can remove the studies of humanities from our schools,, hey they are obsolete anyways, we can still achieve pol pots dream.

"that I have always been an anarchist" that is your nature and it is natural and it is certainly not cruel
-
indifference is also invaluable. in nature there does exist balance and harmony. sometimes compassion and understanding wears the mask of indifference, anoesika, you appreciate your cats---consider their nature. they understand their role in nature.

i think to follow iceland's lead is ideal. iceland and new zealand are on my short list of places to go. i have brought up rand paul a few times on this thread and it makes no difference to me the person's choice of political affiliation. i like what the lady from massachusetts says here listen to her words on the video at the top of her page. http://www.warren.senate.gov/ edit to add; http://finance.yahoo.com/news/elizabeth-warren-obamas-economic-team-210400240.html
