  1. Seth Ananda needing to be banned

It's obvious to everyone except him. I don't get how someone can be so blind to their actions/emotions? Especially someone so interested in spiritual/personal development. Oh well...
  2. Seth Ananda needing to be banned

Actually many of us Buddhists would love to have a calm and intelligent discussion with you, but the issue is that you don't seem to be capable of that. You're really that obsessed with revenge, eh? Need to punish me that bad? Then you'll feel better? Doesn't sound very enlightened of you. You just sound like someone whose pride has been hurt. If you don't want to read my pseudo-Buddhist nonsense, you can simply block me. It's the same as banning me basically. And the reason why I'm still here and "won't leave you alone" is because I see you acting like a victim here and you seem so blind to the fact that you acted very disrespectfully and brought all this upon yourself. Seth was out of line, and I'm not justifying his behavior, but you're not a victim here Scott.
  3. Seth Ananda needing to be banned

And what will that do exactly? Not having us around won't teach you how to deal with people you disagree with, the people skills you so clearly need to develop. If anything, banning me and Seth will just teach you that it's okay to hide behind rules and authority when you create too much heat instead of facing what you created yourself. So what good will banning us do and why are you so obsessed with it? You can block me and Seth if we bother you so much. I don't think this has anything to do with the sanctity of the forum policies. All of this is a facade. You want revenge. You want to punish us and get rid of those people who disagree with you and challenge you.
  4. Seth Ananda needing to be banned

You want me banned for saying I called you an arrogant snob in private? really? I was merely stating a fact, not that you are an arrogant snob, but the fact that I called you that in private. It wasn't an insult, but a recollection of what happened. Doesn't apply. And calling you a drama queen, which is how you're acting, constitutes banning? My god man....can you stop acting like such a rape victim? Shit happens, tensions get hot, and you're not as much of a victim here as you portray yourself to be. Also, our conversations on AIM aren't copyrighted, lol, nor are they an invasion of privacy. An invasion of privacy would be if I posted your real name, real phone number, real address, stuff like that. Our conversations aren't considered "private" in a real sense since we never signed a contract to make them private. There is no law whatsoever which applies to this.
  5. Seth Ananda needing to be banned

my god Scott you're acting like such a drama queen.
  6. Seth Ananda needing to be banned

Scotty is afraid he's going to "school you" but you won't admit it because Buddhists are so dishonest. If it's done openly and publicly, there is more room for objectivity since others can read it as well and comment. Frankly I think calling a whole tradition as inferior but not being willing to debate that claim publicly is way more disrespectful and dishonest than anything Seth said.
  7. Seth Ananda needing to be banned

Calling Buddhism an inferior path isn't insulting Buddhism?
  8. Seth Ananda needing to be banned

Dude, who are you? lol. Chill out. Someone is a Buddhist when they have taken refuge in the three jewels of Buddha, Dharma, Sangha. You don't have to do this at a temple, a formal ceremony with a teacher will suffice or simply a vow taken earnestly. None of this is relevant to this discussion though. You can start a new thread in General Discussion if this is something you want to learn about.
  9. Seth Ananda needing to be banned

Actually Scotty what started it all was your baseless claim that Buddhism is an inferior path, which is a very bold thing to say. When asked to provide evidence, you held yourself as the authority -- "my experience proves it." Then when I pointed out (in a very nice tone and respectful manner) that you never had a Buddhist teacher and don't follow a Buddhist path so your belittling opinion of Buddhism should be taken with a grain of salt, you proceeded to disparage and belittle me, claiming to have "schooled" me in our private conversations and then acted afraid when I said I'll make the conversations public. Then you proceeded to tell me how I'm "speaking out of my ass," that "you know Buddhism to be inferior" and that "your realization is greater than mine" and I should "fucking deal with it." Then, after Simple Jack responded to your baseless claim, you told him "WHO GIVES A SHIT? I'm not interested in Buddhist nonsense, and I'm even less interested in people who feel the need to spout it out and never achieve anything substantial" again asserting yourself as an authority and sole bearer of truth instead of having a logical, calm, respectful, and egalitarian discussion. Yes, Scott, you did start the fire. How you fail to see that is very odd.
  10. Seth Ananda needing to be banned

Wasn't talking about you I welcome your thoughts zerostao
  11. Seth Ananda needing to be banned

lol members who have been here for 2 weeks getting involved in internal politics, pretty funny.

    ok man, whatever you say.
  13. Seth Ananda needing to be banned

If we hold this insult policy to be so supreme, shouldn't we also look at the cause of the insults as well? It's not like these insults came from nowhere. Sometimes they do of course, but in this case you, Scott, were clearly provoking people. If you punish the effect, you should also punish the cause. An important question is why do you care so much about punishing those who insulted you when you clearly were acting in a disparaging, disrespectful, and demeaning manner and brought all this upon yourself? This reminds me of middle school when some kids would provoke others and then run to the principal when others would defend themselves and fight back. It's cowardice, nothing more.
  14. Seth Ananda needing to be banned

Only if Scotty gets suspended too for provoking others and acting disrespectful... VH was banned for less. Really what's happening is that you mods are falling for his facade. He's pretending to be like a victim to cover up the fact that he caused all of this and brought it all upon himself. He's saving face and wants to get rid of the evidence, have some revenge on those who hurt his pride and questioned his exalted opinions, and responded (yes with some anger) to his constant provoking and belittling. If we hold this insult policy to be so supreme, shouldn't we also look at the cause of the insults as well? It's not like these insults come from nowhere. Sometimes they do of course, but in this case Scotty was clearly provoking people. If you punish the effect, you should also punish the cause.
  15. Seth Ananda needing to be banned

It's not taken out of context. You just messaged me out of nowhere and said that to me. it wasn't in the middle of a conversation. Stop hiding, man. The light hurts, but this is who you are, an angry individual who deserves the anger that has been shined back at him.
  16. Seth Ananda needing to be banned

I just wanted to share a message I received from Scotty in private. Not on the forum, but it at least sheds some light on who we're dealing with, a very angry and mentally unstable individual who doesn't like being called out on his shit. (8:26:52 PM) muju808: sup, you butt hurt moron. suck my rectum. :-D (8:27:15 PM) muju808: lick the shit clean out of it...it will be more pure than the words you speak
  17. Seth Ananda needing to be banned

Hey Scott, how about viewing all of this as your own doing since you brought all this on to yourself instead of acting like a savagely beaten victim? Against the forum rules or not, you were clearly acting in a disparaging manner and provoking people. Why do you care so much about seeing people banned? Why so sore? I guess it's easier to get rid of other people rather than changing your own behavior and gaining people skills, eh? For someone so interested in truth and honesty, you sure are terrible at looking in the mirror.
  18. Would people Like a Buddha Bum sub forum?

No, man. This is not "the truth." This is your opinion. You base all of this on your "experience" yet you admitted that you have not achieved Buddhahood. Since Buddhahood is Buddhist enlightenment and you have no experience with it, how could you possibly be able to make such a claim that Buddhism is inferior? You've never followed a Buddhist path nor had a Buddhist teacher. You also disagree with some central tenets of Buddhism like no-self, seeing it as a false-belief (even though it's central to all schools of Buddhism) while at the same time consider yourself enlightened according to Buddhism, which I consider strange to say the least. Like I said before, and which I see pissed you off so much due to your pride, you don't understand Buddhism. If you did, you wouldn't make baseless claims like 'Buddhism doesn't develop the body' or 'Buddhism is an inferior path.' These are not truths. They are your opinions. What pisses people off about you Scotty is that you act like a truth bearer, and you're completely biased to your own opinions based on limited understandings and assumptions. When that's pointed out to you and people ask you to back up your claims, you get angry and hostile because others actually question you. Then when others are hostile back at you, you act like a victim as if you didn't create the circumstances in the first place.
  19. oh man.. drama, drama, drama. I think we both have karma that just sucks us in... probably a lesson here for both of us to practice patience.. :)

  20. Seth Ananda needing to be banned

Hmmmmm, let's backtrack. You're the one who joined that thread and started acting in a highly condescending, belittling, arrogant, and disparaging manner. You were provoking and trying to piss people off, and now you're crying because you got told off? This is like middle school shit, Scotty. If you can't take heat, don't start the fire. Treat people with respect and don't pretend like you're some enlightened master who can shut down others as wrong because you said so and then in your next breath insult a whole tradition as inferior because "that's your experience" and of course we should all listen to your enlightened words. I'm not Seth. I'm not posting this to defend his actions. I chose to tell you how much of an arrogant snob you are in private. What I will say is I think you totally had it coming due to your attitude and disrespect. You've put yourself on a pedestal above everyone else, and now you're sore because somebody knocked you down. Well, cry a little, get over it, and then hopefully learn some people skills.
  21. Any recomended concentration meditation?

Umm if you make such a ridiculous claim, then yes you should clarify and justify what you mean. Calling a whole tradition 'inferior' is rude to those who follow it. When Vaj was arguing against Taoism here, he argued his points instead of simply relying on himself as an authority figure. "I said so therefore it's true because I'm enlightened" is hardly a valid argument. If you say dumb shit, be prepared to back it up or don't say it at all. It's not that you're 'defaming' Buddhism, but it's that you clearly failed to understand it. I mentioned to you countless times that Buddhist enlightenment isn't just a taste of emptiness, which I know you had and then freaked out. A Buddha is a completely transformed being with omniscience and limitless power and compassion. An enlightened being does not have any negative emotions, and this position is held by all Buddhist traditions. You clearly have anger issues, yet we are to believe that you're enlightened and are thus an authority onto yourself in regards to Buddhism? Sorry pal, as clearly evidenced from how you've been acting, you're far from enlightened.
  22. Would people Like a Buddha Bum sub forum?

I think threads on a Buddhist topic can serve the same role. Others might join in sure, but for the most part it tends to be just the Dharma Bums engaging there anyway. Whether or not we let the thread get derailed is up to us. Scotty causing the derailment of that concentration thread with his baseless "Buddhism is inferior" claim certainly wasn't endearing to us, but then it wasn't a Buddhist thread. If it was, maybe he would've been more likely to actually bolster his claim with some evidence, or maybe he wouldn't have said it at all. (though I have to wonder why he even said it in the first place since he wasn't willing to discuss it in an honest manner afterwards, maybe he was trying to stir something up and get a reaction...)
  23. Any recomended concentration meditation?

He told me he doesn't want the conversation to be seen publicly because he doesn't want others to see how rude and belittling he was during the conversation which would make him look bad. He's not a very good debater, gets frustrated easily, and lacks the patience to clearly elucidate his thoughts and understand what I'm trying to say. He masks his frustration with pride and the need to belittle. He's bragging because he needs to be seen as enlightened and a bearer of truth. His pride depends on it. He wants everyone to believe him as an authority when he says things like "Buddhism is inferior," so of course he doesn't want to be seen as someone who has no clue what they're talking about.
  24. Any recomended concentration meditation?

The issue with Scotty is that he considers himself enlightened in the Buddhist sense (he told me so in private), which explains why it's only his interpretation of Buddhism that's true since he is a bearer of truth. Of course being a bearer of truth, he feels the need to "school" others. Oh well... Sorry guys for derailing this thread so much, but after Scotty's baseless claims about Buddhism here, I had to point all of this out. Scotty does not practice Buddhism, disagrees with some of the central Buddhist tenets such as no-self, and considers himself a 'despiser of Buddhist beliefs' but strangely also considers himself enlightened in the Buddhist sense making him a Buddha. Not really someone worth listening to in this regard.
  25. Any recomended concentration meditation?

You lack the patience? You made a claim that you understand Buddhism and schooled me on it. I'm asking you to back it up. I am making the same arguments that I made in our private discussion, which I will post publicly if you agree. But that won't be necessary if you simply respond to what I posted here. My position hasn't changed.
