Marijuana Revelations; Modern Taoists in Modern China

my oh my.. so much anger directed towards me. so thats your 9th post and the 3rd one directed towards me. thanks I guess. i still don't know who you are though. I ask for advice regularly on this board. the veterans here will know. I PM people regularly asking for advice, and make threads. I used to do that a lot more. i've been here for 2 years. so I ask and I give. i'm not a Guru but when someone has an issue i'm familar with.. i'm not afraid to voice my opinion to try to help them. how was I obnoxious? seriously guys, lay off the soap operas. I don't scream... I just wonder who you are usually people contribute to a community before becoming the virtue police. if you have a problem with me you can PM me. and we can talk privately about your issue with my attitude. others can do the same too. i'm not here to offend anybody. that's never my intention. frankly too much time is spent creating a dramatic scene here that I wonder about some peoples' intentions of posting here. -

dude......put down the bong, and relax.. lol. you're getting all worked up because I said you need to deepen your awareness through meditation? i'm sorry if that hurt your feelings. since you still grasp at a self by latching onto these negative feelings of pride, i'm not going to cater to your ego who feels threatened. notice that those emotions are illusory. I understand that it may not be easy to hear that you have work to do or that you may be wrong... i don't like it either. the I being the ego. though there is a deeper aspect that recognizes that i don't know everything and listening to advice is a good idea. I'm not giving you advice about fixing a truck or breeding horses, or something else that I have no clue about. I've smoked a lot of pot, so i'm just giving some friendly advice. when I say don't take this personally I mean it. i'm not attacking you. the real you is infinite potentiality, not the guy who gets defensive over the internet because someone told him pot won't make him a Buddha -
hey kate, because my digestion is screwed up. constant bloated feeling plus gas... and sluggish feeling. years of bad diet did this. i read a colon cleanse can really help this. i've been taking chinese herbs for the past 2 months that target stomach/spleen qi dampness and deficiency but they haven't done much. chinese herbs take a long while to take effect, i have a couple lipomas and they are definitely shrinking. its a really slow process to get rid of dampness.. i think a colon cleanse that im doing now with psyllium + bentonite clay can help clean the intestines a bit. which should give me more energy because of easier digestion and removal of toxins. i think chakras are effected. Robert Bruce told me that a colon cleanse helps with the root chakra. all traditional societies like India, China, Tibet stress the importance of diet. thats beacuse the body, energy body, and mind are interdependent. so a body full of toxins will affect the energy channels and this affects the mind. hey man, thanks. I looked at their colon cleanser and its basically what i'm doing now. the main ingredients of their "toxin absorber" are psyllium husks and bentonite clay. .. their Digestive stimulator seems pretty good. it contains Triphala which is an ayurvedic herb which I just bought. if I had the money, I'd get their cleanser. it seem really good. i'm sure the other ingredients are useful as well and make the process easier.

What do you see differently when your 3rd eye is open or opening?

Carson, i'm going to disagree with you here and say the greatest siddhi is being able to help everyone by knowing exactly what to do or say to bring them to enlightenment. i think that having this siddhi will bring the greatest joy. so maybe we're on the same page I lived at Tibetan Buddhist center in Bodh Gaya India in December for around 20 days... it was amazing. did a 10 day silent retreat there full of meditation/learning. waking up every day at 6 to a GONGGG and meditating, eating vegetarian and having light soup for dinner... being surrounded by that lifestyle everywhere.. monks and nuns walking around. it was amazing, so inspiring. I wish I could've taken that home with me.. but when I got back I just resorted to a hardcore stupid lifestyle and it took time to start meditating again. I think 20 days isn't enough living in that environment to truly create habits. it has to be longer, maybe thats just me. I'd love to live for a year or two in a center. working, eating, meditating, sleeping. just focusing. I think the greatest realization only comes when one immerses in society and faces samsara head on. but.. in the beginning, it can be so helpful to just leave society for a while. not hide out of fear.. but to build a foundation free of distractions, cultivate that inner presence and then go out into the world. I think that will be really helpful. -

don't take everything so personally. I'm only giving you some friendly advice. once you deepen your awareness to a more subtle level you will see how marijuana negatively affects the body/mind. -

nothing personal, but you need more meditative experience / awareness of the body and subtle energy channels. there is something wrong with using pot to facilitate meditation. you will hit a ceiling and not go beyond it. -

marijuana... psychedelic? amateur marijuana poisons the body and dulls the mind. i did that for years so I know. i've also experimented with real psychedelics so I know the difference. I would recommend san pedro cacti to have a really powerful beyond-self experience. but even those can be mis-interpreted so once you come back your ego shells up even stronger. this explains why Findley acts like such a prick, the ego gets much stronger after drug use. and yes im referring to marijuana as a drug, i'm sure it has many medicinal benefits but it still screws you up if you take it for spiritual or entertainment purposes. i'm going to acupuncture and learning Qi Gong from a powerful teacher who is healing me of marijuana poisoning. it screws up the channels.. big time. ever wonder why you get the munchies when you smoke? because the earth energy in the root and naval get depleted so your body needs nourishment. it pushes energy up into the heart and head but burns out very quickly. bliss is felt and makes you think your thoughts are incredible, but in reality they are usually pretty dumb. I wrote down some amazing thoughts when I was high and when I was sober i realized what trash it was smoking blocks the heart and other vital areas after repeated use. especially the lungs. If you're inclined, do san pedro after fasting for a day for a nice cleansing and then quit taking everything, eat a light diet, and meditate. -
hey Bum, thanks for your advice!. how often do you do these fasts? it seems Sonne's clay isn't meant to be taken that often. i'm excited to try it. I just found this Psyllium which has some other ingredients as well. Do you think these ingredients are beneficial? or should I just get regular Psyllium? http://www.organicindiausa.com/product_inf...products_id=112 well it is buy 1 get 1 free, maybe I should go for it
-
thanks Mal for the thread recommendation! i've been planning on doing a colon cleanse (have gas, bloating, sluggish feeling) and im happy to find such a simple approach of Clay + Psyllium. I think i'll also throw some Triphala into the mix (Indian ayurveid herb) which is a digestive and colon cleanser and general balancer. it seems that most of you recommend to do Clay + Psyllium during fasts? so this isn't an every day thing? can this be done with food? gonna order some of that Sonne's #7 Bentonite I think... or maybe I should get one of the other Clays? i have no idea. for those that experimented which do you recommend? Trunk was saying Sonne's is too powerful in some posts.. and in others was saying how it rocks.. so I don't know! ... any Psyllium will do?
-
thanks King, btw this looks good maybe you will find it interesting and informative http://www.amazon.com/Tibetan-Ayurveda-Hea...ntt_at_ep_dpt_1 reading about bentonite clay per Mal's suggestion....veryinteresting..
-
can you recommend a book or place to start learning about this? I found this, it seems related? although more geared towards Chinese medicine not Ayurveda http://www.amazon.com/Healing-Whole-Foods-...n/dp/1556434308 quickly found this book on Ayurvedic Cooking, has a chapter on food combining http://www.amazon.com/Ayurvedic-Cooking-Se...6391&sr=8-1
-
I see I see. well maybe the same effect could've been had on those people by just taking some Psyllium husk and fasting? Idk. just being cynical and making up an excuse not to spend 200$
-
I don't understand how you can say its the best but you've never done it can someone please look over these ingredients to see if its any good? http://www.dualactioncleansenow.com/e-ingredients.aspx
-
yoyo King.. according to this book triphala is a purgutive.. but I think considered 'light' so its not too forceful have u tried Triphala? was it good? i'm thinking of just doing a Triphala + Psyllium combo whats a good strong purgutive?
-
hm thanks! I think most people recommended Psyllium Husk powder.. idk about the clay though.. i'll look into that more. since i've heard great things about both Triphala and psyllium husks.. i looked around and found this. it seems legit http://www.planetaryherbals.com/products/GP1553/ and super expensive! what was your experience with it?
-
hm.. thanks. yeah I think these are over marketed. i read more and decided just to try some Triphala, which is an ayurvedic herb made up of 3 flowers that regulates digestion. It seems that a lot of the western colon cleanses are just strong laxatives. I don't know how good that is for you.

this is why you fail to understand Buddhist non-dual realization. Buddhism does not collapse everything onto the Subject because the Subject is seen to be empty. Buddhism does not say that there is no subject/object split because everything is subject. that is an extreme. Buddhism says that subject and object are interdependent and connected, but that doesn't mean that they are of one eternal essence. you never answered my question Dwai, if I'm hungry can you go eat for me?

Should a Taoist Forum focus primarily on Taoism?
Sunya replied to chicultivation's topic in General Discussion
Creation, and others here. you will find this interesting From Universe to Multiverse. Are You Ready? (Dr. Michio Kaku) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-rg3uNrI8tE Parallel universes, black holes, and big bangs are mentioned.. in response to a question about how the idea of Multiverses rewrites theology and God, the theoretical physicist mentions Buddhism which is interesting. very good talk. -

I just wanted to say that I read your post. -
so if I cut your leg off, your intent will grow it back? or more simply, can you, with your intent, take a shit without eating food first? I think intent is important, but you can't ignore biological mechanisms. Santi says bullshit, but he also doesn't release more than twice a month. he's also young. he's also fit. Ramakrishna probably ate like a spoonful of rice a day, and maybe an apple for dessert. he didn't have the diet to replenish as fast. maybe in his experience that was true. we can't deny that. for you it might be different. I don't think its easy as saying the loss of jing concept is a trap. It's very real.
-
LOL WHO ARE YOU? you have 7 posts on this board, and all of them have been about your disagreements with how people are acting. how about you contribute instead of criticize?
-
hehe jk. this isn't obvious at all for many people, especially older people who are very much set in their ways.. like being stuck in quick sand. it's so easy and comfortable to just stay stuck and not question anymore. nice post !
-
that's a joke right? you're being sarcastic right? when have you ever added anything beneficial to any discussion? man you crack me up. LOL who ARE you?? Virtue police over here with 6 posts. dude.... putting "Be Well" at the end of your post doesn't stop you from looking like a jackass. just a heads up. lol really Vajra hasn't said anything fantastical or childish at all. he's been very concrete citing Buddhist scripture and his own experiences. just because you're 80 years old and haven't had any meditative experience doesn't mean that other realms and deep experiences don't exist for others Marble. maybe you would have some experiences if you actually meditated instead of trying to have tea with strangers over the internet. its really amazing how defensive people get when their beliefs are questioned, when their identity is questioned. look at you people. ganging together and hounding someone for saying something as grotesque as "Buddhist realization isn't the same as Taoist realization", if you can prove him wrong.. do it. if you can't have a philosophical debate, then don't participate. if you act dramatic thats only furthering your attachment and suffering, so chill people. if you're comfortable with your path then what others are saying shouldn't matter to you. if you act dramatic that only shows your insecurity.

you do realize that's what reifying means, don't you? saying everything is real?

i have dampness! high five. i think its because i've eaten too much bad unhealthy foods (taco bell?) at night. i developed lipomas and thats a definite indicator of dampness. i've been using the middle way formula here http://www.agelessherbs.com/ which is directed towards stomach/spleen qi dampness and deficiency..I saw a TCM Doc and he confirmed my diagnosis and said the herbs are good. but where did you get your diagnosis from? i suggest seeing a licensed acupuncturist/herbalist who has a Masters. the herbs work. my dampness is clearing though it takes a long time since i've had this for years. i've been on the formula for almost 2 months.. and the big lipoma I had on my leg is shrunk twice in size. my digestion is also a little better.. and i feel better inside. but like I said, herbs work slow. I think acupuncture will also help, though its not necessary to overdo it. i'm seeing an acupuncturist next week.. he's awesome. I saw him 2 weeks ago for a free consult and for free he worked on me for an hour, he sent a lot of energy into my heart (he's a Qi Gong master) and I felt bliss for days.. and told me that lower dan tien breathing will really help clear up the dampness.
