Tibetans aren't mixing anything. Tantra was introduced to Tibet in the 8th century onward by enlightened yogis from India. remember Buddhism came from India. Tantra is not restricted to any specific tradition, but the Tibetans have done a great job in preserving Tantra.. where its pretty much lost in India (the highest teachings) The Tibetans still uphold that its the quickest path. and those who I've talked to who have practiced Zen and switched to Vajrayana agree that working with these "fun and ornate" things as you say has helped tremendously. I agree though that there is no evidence that Bodhidharma ever talked about chakras.

hey guys, what style of tai ji do you do? I just started learning Chen style, which I hear is more martial compared to Yang. would it be fair to say Chen is more external, Yang is more internal? is one more preferred than the other for cultivation if martial application isn't a deciding factor?

mind (buddhist term for soul, or true self) is not a thing that can be shown or described. language describes things, using comparison to other things, but mind is not a thing, mind is not form. there is no substance to mind.. beyond I is nothing. but not nothing in the nihilistic "ah fuck it, nothing exists i'm going to rape bitches!" not that nothing, but no-thing. see this is the limitation of language. theres 'something' there, beyond the I, but the I has to surrender and give up grasping wholly. any attempt to find and grasp Mind is going in the opposite direction. this is the I. the I can not experience God, only God can experience God, because the I is not real. its all just a big misunderstanding. no big deal.
