hey WYG, glad to hear you're having good experiences with Kunlun! i tried doing it almost every day for like 3 months but didn't amount to much. i think my issue was retention.. i jerk off way too much..then had a girlfriend. but she's gone now for a month so i can try the ol' celibacy route. i've heard from hindu sources the importance of celibacy as well.. the fast track to enlightenment... and necessary to make meditations spontaneous. no wonder my meditations have been sucking.
  2. not really worried about having a wife or child.. but a job, thats becoming important. i'm only 22.. so a little worried about the future. will be done with college soon with asian studies and philosophy and have no idea what to do after. i can't just go live in the forest, i need some sort of job that pays me. i can't just be a waiter and live in a studio apartment. i'm thinking of learning to program python to possibly get into web development... so i'm trying to tackle this issue of desire. without desire i wouldn't care about money and what would happen to me? so i don't know.. but there's no I to know.. fuck. all this spiritual stuff is making it hard to function in this day and age. i envy the ancient taoist masters and hindu yogis
  3. lol transmission cost 125$ get outta here if you were really serious about 'helping humanity' or whatever. you'd keep money out of spirituality and get a real job to support yourself like the rest of us
  4. those falling into further illusion

yep guys check out Bernadette Roberts, shes a christian mystic that went totally beyond what she calls the Unitive Self..she lived for 20+ years in a state of joy and bliss, where she knew that she was God. but then her self started falling away, and so did God, and she didn't exist anymore, only God. other people didn't exist either. no individuality, everything All that Is was realized as God. complete non-duality, no subjects or objects. an interview with her http://www.spiritualteachers.org/b_roberts_interview.htm a summary of her book http://www.nonduality.com/berna.htm here is her message to people that think they have gone all the way, people like Santiago. no offense buddy Thank you for sharing your experience. Indeed you weren't ready to receive diksha as this isn't shaktipat alone but a direct initiation into the Path and surrender to the Guru. so to receive it you have to be ready which means you already have to stop seeking in other traditions, stop all other practices, and commit yourself fully. i know how hard this is. i'm not ready for diksha myself yet. but its a step in the realization of no-self. being your own guru will only make the journey longer until you realize there's no "you"
  5. those falling into further illusion

hmm last night.. how late? at like 3.. maybe 4am.. really late i had a strange experience. as I told you in the email i hear lots of high pitched weird sounds, but last night as i was reading i felt my consciousness jump somewhere else and there was a really low vibration surrounding my whole being. it was very quick and sudden.. but wow. guess that was you. thanks i dont know whats illusion, i mean. everything is illusion i guess but we still gotta function don't we. still gotta eat, piss, socialize, get a job. i see what you were saying. ive always had a habit of being idealistic

  7. those falling into further illusion

hi cat, no nothign to do with you i actually love your posts! haha i just realized that whats the point? this has only been an intellectual discussion with people arguing opinions, i myself don't have direct experience so why bother. people arguing hearsay i only wanted to share an opinion and give some a different perspective but probably came off too arrogant and thus some were quite defensive. sorry guys
  8. those falling into further illusion

  10. those falling into further illusion

drew, this thread isn't your blog LOL wtf? you crack me up man hahah Santi, thanks for your replies.. we disagree in that i don't buy into these myths. i don't think Shiva actually existed, but is rather a form that represents absolute consciousness. at least thats what it became.. in the beginning maybe a person did inspire it. either way, doesn't change anything. whether Jesus existed or not doesn't change anything for a christian mystic.. but many squabble over historical facts. to me its a waste of time. though some enjoy it, whatever makes you happy my friend. i have no profound awareness. i'm still a noob! btw Santi you check your gmail? i sent you an email. thanks Scotty for pointing it out.. definitely blind leading the blind since i'm still in ignorance. but i'm not trying to prove anyone wrong. this wasn't meant as an argument, though some people get too defensive when i question the foundations of their beliefs. just a discussion, and a sharing of experience and opinion. why didn't you click with her? i honestly hated her at first, thought she was arrogant and full of it.. she made me very angry. but some part of my being knew that this was a good thing. she doesn't play around.. she has the energy of Kali.. cuts heads off like its nobodys business! haha
  11. How about...

the book I mentioned above by Jim Marion discusses this. he firmly says reincarnation is a fact citing his own experiences and the Bible itself.. i don't remember exactly what he said about it, but if you're interested I can check the book for you

I never presented myself as a master or teaching.. i'm merely a fellow traveler sharing insights I picked up along the way that I feel would help. you are free to do as you wish, good luck with whatever you may do. it's obvious by your attitude that your ego is flaming. this is my point, energy practice doesn't do shit for the real problem. your unchecked flaming ego. so wish as much as you want, but the ego won't go away by holding a pose.
  13. those falling into further illusion

I have utmost respect for healers.. my point is that the path of shamanism, healing, astral traveling, transportation, Jedi Mind Skills, have nothing to do with enlightenment. plain and simple. so doing all of these things is great, but for those who are seeking truth than all of these psychic spiritual hobbies are only hindrances because they create a better "you", the ego loves all these titles and psychic powers.. the ego loves to astral travel and hang out with demi-gods. and it will be even harder to let go after you have experienced even more of the infinitude of creation. so why bother? attaching yourself to all these sidepaths before you even know Who You Truly Are, is a mistake in my opinion thats all my teacher Swami G does energy work as well, and i've heard she packs quite a hit. but it came naturally to her after realization.. it wasn't sought you are obviously free to do as you wish, Shamans tend to learn the hard way. i myself am still pretty enthralled with all of the possibilities.. its truly remarkable.. but a good point is.. using the Judeo-Christian model as a metaphor. we love God's creation more than God, we love Shakti more than Shiva.. we love Form more than Formless. but think about this. if God's creation is so amazing.. think about how amazing God is. the creator of all this, the source of all the manifested physical, astral, whatever.
  14. how do i escape?

LOL Drew, you're quite a character.. so cracked out on bliss you don't even make sense. enjoy mikael
  15. Adam, both are sides of the same coin, i have been taught similiar to you.. but have also in the past tried all these taoist yoga and hindu yoga of moving energy around. what i've been taught is that the chakras and tan tiens are not just physical points but areas of consciousness. so moving the energy from perinium up won't do as much as actually changing your lifestyle.. for instance not arguing anymore, being selfless, loving, caring, living in the moment. THIS is the best way to transmute your sexual energy because consciousness is everything. but consciously moving the energy up the spine works for some, i personally find it to be a crutch as it builds too much bodily awareness. mikael

thanks for the link it seems he talks about this .. his reasoning for embracing the other levels of consciousness sounds weak to me. fear isn't the reason that the direct path ignores phenomena.. possess them all for the Divine? sounds like an inferiority complex the planes of existence are endless, these aren't baseball cards you collect.. i don't know, i'll keep reading though Hi Mike, really appreciate you sharing this..do I come off a bit overbearing? I understand.. i have a tendency of having that arrogant 'know it all' attitude that definitely turns people off. my girlfriend tells me the same thing. how what i say does make sense but alot of the time its how I say it that turns people off. it's something I have to work on.. thanks for pointing it out mikael
  18. how do i escape?

Drew what are you talking about? did you even read the original post? Its a common theme for you to be talking to yourself in your posts.. this isn't a blog.. its a conversation. Rainbow, have you found any teachers that you resonate well with? physical presence is highly recommended but there are teachers that post free videos you can view online http://www.youtube.com/user/GuruSwamiG http://www.adyashanti.org/ hope this helps, PM me if you'd like to talk.. i'm all about this freakiness

well I meant judging as in a negative way, like i'm attacking Cam which i'm not. i can just relate.. and can offer some sound advice that he may, and I hope does, benefit from. everyone does learn in their own way.. but we are all incarnations of spirit able to help each other through the rough terrain labeled Life. i'm no master.. i wouldn't even call myself an adept. but this area has been the subject of much contemplation on my part and being here, seeing this, its only my duty to humbly help steer this one away from further confusion thank you though Mike, i appreciate your intent.

sadly that would probably get you way more participants worked for Max, nothing against him, just seems most people need clever marketing because thats the culture we live in with television and everything you need a cooler name though.. like Lama ThunderKickAss
  21. Taoist Intensive Funds Request

Hi Cameron not to judge you or anything, so don't get me wrong. but I noticed you jump around a lot, gaining teachings here and there..getting very excited, then bored until you find something else. this is understandable, i used to do this too. but i think the reasoning behind this is this mentality of creating a better "you", this belief that taking this intensive it will somehow make you better, more enlightened, more wise. but really what can you learn that would be so beneficial? mikael
  22. How about...

hi for those interested in Christian mystical tradition, this is the best place to start I think.. http://www.chrmysticaloutreach.com/ very very very very very good article on connecting with Holy Spirit also the book Putting on the mind of Christ by Jim Marion is amazing, it is recommended at the bottom fo the site above so I got it. its written by a former monastic and beautifully put. its universal as it talks about connection to yoga and kundalini, buddhism as well. these two writers helped me to get over the misconception of Christianity being a completely mythical and dogmatic tradition. there is definitely mystical life in it, don't let the fundamentalists fool you. as Jim Marion wrote.. fundamentalists are still stuck in the mythical level unable to embrace the rational level. atheism is a step in the right direction because you give up myths and embrace the unknown, but to totally deny it is foolish. a map is given of where consciousness goes after rational level and psychic level.. the culmination being Kindom of Heaven which is complete non-duality.. or seeing God in everything and being God edit.. oh it was a joke eh? haha.. well, still. maybe there are some here taht would liek to see the Christian perspective of universal truth
  23. those falling into further illusion

WYG sent me a video of Swami G talking about phenomena and nirvana for those interested, its a short video but she explains it so well.. much better than I can, especially since she is speaking from experience. mjjbecker, about experience... yes.. experience is everything. that is why i am citing my teacher. i am only a vessel for her teachings which i feel are universal among the great saints, sages, masters, lamas Santiago, many focus on 'opening the third eye' as if its the holy grail of spirituality. what is your opinion of this? is there benefit of opening the third eye? i'm really curious about your response..i've heard mixed teachings on this. Swami G says not to as its a hindrance while Chrism, another teacher of mine over at Kundalini Awakening Systems and friend of Glenn, teaches mudras to open third eye.. thanks
  24. those falling into further illusion

Hi Santiago, thanks for joining in! and appreciate the offer to visit, if i'm ever in Florida would love to visit, same for me in new jersey.. though will be going to India to study abroad for 9 months in August. visit me there! :] it was great to read your post.. i believe you are right on the money about the respect for the relative, it is a necessity. the relation between absolute truth and relative truth is quite paradoxical to the logical mind.. and thus has been quite confusing for me. of course by knowing you are God that doesn't mean you can walk into oncoming traffic, balance.. yin-yang, definitely. but.. taking this metaphor.. some would use fear as a motivation to avoid the car, spend their lives training to avoid cars lol , but the wiser would realize that there is nothing to fear but at the same time physical death isn't necessary so would calmly avoid cars you nailed it when you said "it all depends on what you want to do" of course, but many think that playing with duality will somehow give them truth of non-duality it's like playing poker and taking more and more cards.. when to realize truth you gotta throw the cards away and stop playing i'm not saying stop tai chi or martial arts, we all have hobbies i've been addicted to watching soccer lately, euro cup 2008! but i wanted to share with people is that none of this has to do with absolute truth, nirvana, whatever. I also agree that true mastery is integration. enlightenment isn't living in a cave away from society..but it also isn't teleportation, psychic powers, or being an X-Men. i think that there is a commonality here that 'masters' are judged by their powers. if someone is a jedi master that's terrific, if someone can heal the sick and turn water into wine.. awesome. Jesus did those things, but thats not why i know he was enlightened.. it was his actions and what he taught. i read a book recently called Putting on the Mind of Christ by Jim Marion, former monastic writing about non-dual consciousness (Kingdom of heaven) being the culmination of the evolution of consciousness, using biblical scripture to inspire the Christian to move on from the mythical beliefs while also citing parallels to buddhism and hinduism.. great book for me to get over my misconceptions a quote from my teacher Swami G about enlightenment, which is abiding always in realization.. the balance between relative and absolute is illustrated in her words mikael
  25. those falling into further illusion

Hi Drew, very very interesting.. my teacher Swami G teaches the direct path and Ramana Maharshi is spoken of as a true saint. though not getting into as much detail as you, her practices are basically vipassana and mantra, but the essence of all the practices is surrender and remaining in the 'spiritual heart' which is in the right side of the chest. caste is not necessary, this belief is a limitation. Swami G has led 6 or 7 people to Realization.. 3 year this year.. all of which are people that have jobs, some have kids, and live regular lives.. not like Brahmins at all. so why rely on hearsay such as "only 6 people can be realized at one time" who makes those rules? why 6? thats just nonsense to me.. the specifics of how it works is not so interesting to me, just as long as it works. i think thats all that matters also..i've never heard that Mahayana Buddhism is about spirit travel.. and i've studied Buddhist Philosophy at university level. my understanding of the essence is surrender to compassion, which is the essence of all paths without the culture. Mahayana was a furthering of Theravada which stopped at non-dual experience without integration (which Santiago spoke of) the emphasis of compassion in Mahayana is necessary for integration of absolute and relative mikael
