Hello all From the article in the compression discusison: http://www.chikung.com/magazine.html "For us, Chi is the energy source, Jing is the power, and Chi Kung is the method of transformation." Gary J Cluman describes qigong as a way to transform qi into jing. And in this way develop power. But many traditions describe the process differently. Develop Jing transform it into Qi and then the Qi into Shen. (White tigress/Universal tao (I think). Why are there a difference in the descripion of what you really do? My own conclusion is that qigong is realy to develop all three of them to a high level. But what then about the meaning of transformation. Perhaps it's other things you need to develop with the transformations in an alchemic way. Any ideas about this basic theme from u tao bums's Sincerely F D

Hello I'm also into the practise of 100 days. Sometimes get problem with a depression during this times and also sometimes with anger. It realy makes your unbalanced feelings to the surface and maximaze them I guess. This with watery semen interestes me a litle bit. In the book "The sexual teaching of the jade dragon" Hsi Lai descrribes 5 different types of semen. I have a watery type and that is not good or at least not optional. It could be due to bad health or other problems like to litle exercises. But I have never hurd the thing was written in the start of this tread before. That celibacy and big draw together could make the semen watery. Anyway the semen did get a litle bit better last summer during the 9 jade dragon exercises but not much. Sincerely S D

Tsai Chih Chung does some books on zen tao and others in a cartoon format. Quite funny! Sincerely S D I do not believe in only options. Perhaps you find your teachers in your life in a easier way. Perhaps not. Take one step in a time and the things will develop as they should. You might also get spiritual guidance during your training telling what to do. It might not be the things you believe in this moment! A long jerney starts with one step! Be within this step and apriciate it! This is going the way! It sounds perhaps trivial and easy but might be the hardest thing for the beginner! Sincerely S D -

And some more The best way not to be like the self developed healers is to develop your grounding! This will be emphasised in the Mantak Chia system! From the beginning. It's ok to start with M.C by yourself I guess. This was the way I started the practise. From Mantak Chias first book "awaken heling energy of the tao" i think that was the name. But you are better of to start from Yudeloves book as I told you before. It's a more holistic aproach and you can do several things parallell. The M.C is in it also. It will just take longer but you will learn alot of stuf during the way. Another possibility is to do bouth of course. If doing the M.C from a book be careful and read all the warnings and added information before starting it. Then you have alot of safty. Which book is it you wanted to work from by the way? Another thing is. If you start the UT=Universal Tao (Mantak Chia) then you have a greate system emphasising direct contact with the energy. This is a bit more difficult for men than for woman. But with diligent practise even the men developes. When you have done this regularly for a year you will have a much better sence of the enerys. Then it is easier for you to know by your own experience what is good and what is bad for you. Your feeling upon people things around you and theire energy increases. Your intuition about bad and good thing increases. This is one of the main benefits from this type of practises. You will be qucker on knowing what is the right path for you in all aspects in your life and can decide what to do better. Think about what this could mean in a mans life! Sincerely S D -

Hello Ohh I don't know if it is dangerous. I have heard the opposite also. People saying the best thing is to use both the yoga (Indian) and the tao. But perhaps this was about sexual practises I''m not shore. Anyway in the tao system you not leave so much energy in the head. You take it back into the centre where is it safe and not dangerous. You work with grournding alot whick is a path starting from the physical and when the physical is prepered you ad some spititual exercises with huge energy. If the body is prepered you don't risk side efects like being mad or something. It's slower but safer. Yoga as I see it on the other hand is more direct to the spiritual. Up to heaven. Save more energy in the head. Look at how your inner picture of a developed yogi looks like. Then compare with your inner picture of a well developed tao master. For instance a tai chi master or some other tao master looks like. Do you feel the difference? Perhaps this tells you something. Think about it and feel what you believe is your path. Then try it and see if you like it. If you do both you learn to have more energy in the head and also have a safty to put it in the centre and make it safe and use both dependent of what you want and what you need. It could be to much to learn two system at once in the beginning though. One aproach from mantak Chia and other taoists is that they use the things that works, they are not always keeping into just one system. The systems is always alive and is always developing. It is not to follow some old or perhaps dead master and follow his practise and advises wihtout the ability to change things. You change if you find somthing that works better for you. This is of course nothing for the beginner. First learn the methods your teachers teach when developed in it you might change some litle part in the beginning. I happy to hear you will try the Mantak Chia guy. What I ment by the chat sides was not that you should be without a teacher. No a good teacher is fundamental. But it also a wise decision as some told you here not to go for the best. Go for the good that is availabla at the moment. The universe will let the rigth path evolve rigth in front of you. . From moment to moment. I meant the chat side as a complement. Perhaps you got an advise from your teacher and you can check that advise and compare it with what the people tell you on the chat side also. Perhaps if you find the article on the dangers to mix the practises you can put it here on tao bums and people we can see what it is and then you/we will have more knowledge on this. Best wishes F D -

Sorry did have problems with my last post. Hello I have practised the Universal tao system for 7 years and my recomendation is to start with this. As I know from my own experience you will at least have the possibility to learn wery good exercises for at least 5 years. And as I belive if you want to the rest of your life. I have also done kundalini yoga for about 2 years and hatha yoga four many years buth without instructions. And a litle from two other taoists paths. I see Matak Chia as a wery sincere teacher. Hes books is greate and realy explains alot about qigong and higher practises. Some of the books are popular but the most of them are serious but perhaps to detailed. My advise is. Start with the teacher that teach Matak Chias system. As I see it the critisism is not true at least not on the levels I have reached which still is about the basics. If the teacher isn't good try to find another in europe. You can go to the site forum/healingdao.com/practise and ask Michael Winn for good teachers in Europe. There are some in Germany and Spain and perhaps closer to you also. If you want to try for yourself without a teacher I recomend the book by Yudelove "100 days to better healt, good sex and long life" to start with. You can do one weeks exercise in a mounth instead so you get them well intergrated. If any problems with the exersises visit the page I recomended you or ask questions here. Mantak Chia also recomend that you ad some yang exercises to his system. It could be the martial art exercises with the guy you mentioned. I have the same problem as you did write about with my Karate that I have newly started. But the exercises are greate and if you also have the more deeper stuf from Mantak Chia you have something real good. Don't stay with the things not working or feeling bad. Also ad some ohter aerobic exercises or weight lifting or some other good western exercises to reach maximum effect of the tao. Continue with the breathing exercises from the yoga if it not is uncomfortable. Do it daily for about three months and if nothing happens ask the yoga teachers why not. Let them come up with new sugestions and try them wery sincerely. Make this a test if the system works for you. If it not does stop it and hang in to the other two. If it works when you have tried several of their sugestions keep on training with this guys. It was good for you! The breathing is something you have to deel with soner or later. Let the tao form your solution for you. Stay with the paths that works for you in the moment. Let your exercises be like an arrow not stopping for anything untill it has reach your goal. And another thing start doing the exercises a litle each day. Not bother if you miss some day just start it again the next day. Perhaps 5 minutes each day to start with and if this feels greate increase after a while to 10 minutes and so on. Shoose the exercises you like the most from the beginning. Or the ones you feel most energy with. Or the ones you thing is good for you. Ask the people saying Mantak Chia is bad. Which theire own experiences is with his teaching. If they have done anything and find it bad. Ask a quesion about it on the page I recomended you. Be curious find out for yourself and learn from books and peoples. See what is real with your own experiences. Sincerely S D -

Hello test some problems -
Hello Vigilant I can't talk for the hole taoism but from my perspective from the taoist yoga perspective of cultivation as I see it. In taoist yoga you work with your bad feelings and change them to good feelings. Different organs contains different feelings and you work to get in contact to the bad and take the energy out of it and convert it to the good feeling. In this way you are creating yourself to a person with good virtue and good feelings in yourself. It's not a matter of supression more a matter of accepting and fine tuning to make the good changes happening. Suddenly the feeling of revenge has disapereared. This abilities is developed in the alchemical processes one of three main branches of taoist yoga. The other two are working wiht sexual energy I call it chinese tantra and the other is every aspect of Qigong. So I guess in a more theoretical aspect of taoism it's also a matter of accepting and of change. Read the I ching. The greate book of change one of the classics. It describes different situaions in the society and in yourself and how to act during sertain circumstances to not get ill and to use the possibilities inherent in each situation. Everything will have its natural way and everything is in constant change. Be aware of the situation be aware of the dangers in a sertain situation and take action not to do harm to yourself and others. Accepting and smiling to the world. Sincerely F D

Hello all I have noticed that when doing standing exercises like "standing tree" in Iron Shirt, I do sweat alot. Realy alot even just after a few minutes. I have a burned out condition and is extremely cold to. Do think its a problem with my adrenals kidney yang and with the nervous system. I am on my way to do more rooting and packing processes into my training. Hope to strengthening the kidneys. Does anybody have any comments on this. Is this the right aproach? I have been exercising the universal tao for some years now but are still on a quite basic level. I think the problem with my rooting is the thing that holds my progress back. What do you people think about this?
-
Hello. I'm mostly do Mantak Chia's exercises from the universal tao. There we have something cals Iron shirt which is standing forms of meditation. Where you at first learn some different way to stand and can ad some meditaion to the practise. You learn how to ground yourself and how to make the skeleton and more find the right structure. Then you will be stronger and able to handle more energy in higher practises. You realy work with the structure and transform it to a healtier structure. (Not descibing this wery well in Englich sorry) I can't realy say this have been my favorite exercises from his system. But I belive I have to work with it more beacase this is my own weak point. Hes philosophy about the standing exercises is that you should be able to really feel the energy before you are going in to the moving forms otherways it will be to complicated. So while standing in the forms you can better consentrate on the energy instead of consentrating on doing the movements. I do understund this philosophy but think for some people its better to do some moving forms also. Beacase the standing forms doesnt always seems to be as easy as they where said to be. There are alot to think about anyway. It's one possibility to have physical meditation exercises though. Hopes it gave you something. I'm as you here not compleately convinced but also like it a bit ambivalent. Regards F D

Thx. I do an exercise cold abdominal breathing where you do let the lower back and the sides expand as you inhale. I think it's the same as your description even though I didn't follow how the abdominal muscles can be involved in this. I will shorly try this exercises before bed time. It will be easy to add to my daily routine I think. I also do something similar with the kidneys ming men and the chi chung where you breath hold the breath and take help of the anus to first direct the energy to the point oposite the two mentioned (navvel and solar plexus) and then shift to push in the back of the anus and the front point towards the back point. (navel towards ming men and in the second exercise solar plexus towards the chi ching. ) I believe this exercises and the one you descibes following the MC orbit towards ming men combined would be something that can strenghten the kidneys and the adrenals in the long run. I will make it a try. Are my shortly described exercises also good as you see it. They should be nearly the same just anouther way to make the enrgy to the back points as I see it. Thx again I have never thought about doing this befor bedtime. I should have been woried abuout leaving energy at the back instead at collecting it at the navel. But if I interpret your description correctly it's not nessesarily. With regards F D

Hello All This is my first day looking and knowing about this site. I'm a practioner from the universal tao system since the year 2000. The reason I started to do the exercises was a serious illness that I still today am fighting against. A burned out condition and a body that I couldn't keep warm except any method to try to warm myself. This was wery painful indeed. Mantak Chias breathing into the tan tien was for me wery difficult at first and after a few mounths the navel did explode and that was the start of a period of recovery. Have been training the system since then. Even though not yet fully recovered today my life is on it's way to get better in many ways. And working and reading about all kind of spiritual or physical work with energy has been my greatest interest that I believe I will continue with the rest of my life. I am interested in natural science and mathematics and psychology mostly Jungian psychology also. Have been exercising from some other systems also Hatha yoga and kundalini yoga Some basic practises from the white tigress system I have also since two years ago started a yoga/qigong group that regularily meet and do exercises togheter. For the moment we are following Eric Steven Yudeloves book "100 days to better health, good sex and long life". Most of my work from the universal tao system is still on a quite basic level. I believe that my illness have sloved things down a bit. Progress is increasing for the moment though and I'm do exercises in betwean 1 to 2 hours on a daily basis, mostly. Have been living as a celibate since the year 2000 in the sence not being with a woman. With one exception one summer some years ago. I am still looking for a treatment for my illness and the next steps will be to try some treatment with natural thyroxin and a vitamin and herb treatment for the adrenal fatigue dissorder. This two I belive will help me. Will be meating a new MD abroud next year. Much of my focus is on finding a good method for my treatment. All help with this is mostly welcome! Look forward for interesting talks about qigong and taoist yoga. Am also on my way to learn the white tigress teaching more deeply and to end my celibacy period. Have read your comments on earlier posts on this and did see that most of you are not believing in this system. I'm much curious about but also have some doupts. Have been in contact with Hsi Lai and Amara from California and they have been much helpful in my questioning about the system. With regards Fire Dragon Sincerely Fire Dragon

Hello So far I not have so much experience with the white tiger/tigress system. I have read Hsi lai's books about the male and female practise and I have done the nine jade dragon exercises last summer and are doing the mediation on the original cavity or ancestors hall on a daily basis. Sometimes I like the meditation alot but sometimes I not really shore why I'm doing it but I have continued it for the last 7 months. I had a good dream about my ancestors when I started this meditiaion and I see light flashing behind my eyes. My universla tao instructior is recomending me to continue with this meditaion and tells me it's a good practise. He has changed to another system by the way and nowdays do the "thunder path" (I think thats was the name) with David Shen. Unfortunaltely my development in the White tigress system has stope for the moment beacuse of two things I do not have so much money for the moment beacouse my medicine from the states (living in europe) is much expensive. And my teacher from california haven't been answering my meils lately. Do not know why. So what is your knowledge experience of the white tiger system? Love to hear about it. Soncerely Fire Dragon
