Almost a year ago I signed up, I was doing searches on Glenn Morris. Thanks to all above who were brave enough to share. Echoes of my life in the above posts... Thanks again to all here who tread the path and stealthily keep me on it.

It's just where I was when I felt the need to... well... vent. It's not just a Tao Bums thing and makes me wonder who's looking and how much. Go ahead if you see fit Thanks PS. You dropped the 7?

It is ironic that Capoeira an art so full of spirit, life, joie de vivre evolved out of a commitment to be free. Slavery was abolished in Brazil in 1888 yet the art has grown significantly world wide! Capoeira is Brazilian! Roots in Africa, Portuguese is the language of capoeira. Brazilian Portuguese that is. Any attempt to re-Africanize it will nullify what it is. Candomble is candomble. The Indus valley civilization which lies now in North India and Pakistan (1947) used sanskrit not devanagari in the vedas, and was cultivated by aryans. Most Southern Californians shleppin' a yoga mat have over two dozen hatha styles to pick yet this is just one bud from the root. I remember a Bruce Lee documentary where Kareem Abdul Jabbar states "Jeet Kune Do is American" it's eclectic. ( I am sure all are familiar with Yip Man and the Bruce Hx) I wonder how many of us would be on tao bums if it weren't for the Lee Jun Fan phenomenon? Purists will be purists. Then there are Dan Inosanto and Santiago Dobles. Not bad company eh? I know this is an IMA forum but I arrived late to that party. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu has some history check it out. Scottish immigrants learn from Kano (Japanese) throw in that which is Brazil and the rest is history. I will leave the rest to the experts and scholars Thanks again for allowing my participation on this awesome international forum.

I really have to ponder this! Seems like everything came out of something else or amalgamated along the way.

Well my first employer in 1979 had a bulletproof work ethic. My parents were depression WWII generation who had pride. It seems when I am working I bring a solid sense of 120% effort to the environment Somewhere along my co-workers learned to slack, they learned it somewhere. I have seen this nationwide. It is an I can do the minimum mentality. The closest I have seen to national pride is the NFL or gangster nations around Chicago livin' large. Now that my body is close to broken down from decades of "giving" and "service" I look to Cuba or Bahia as a place to retire to collect my socialist security. (yea right) So I dedicate this to all the Barack Obama Liberals and Sarah Palin conservatives who are currently workin' 24/7 to fix the shitstem. Start at 01:34 http://www.youtube.c...h?v=PzC2eM1tWRk And have a solution to your airport scanning woes an a bonus! Love you all! -
Looks like the shelves here will be empty soon Never have seen the store parking lots so full on a Monday evening. No fear I have a snow shovel and candles! So the midwest will be roughing it for a while eh? Haven't had to survive without electricity for a while. Will this be the blizzard of the century? Lots of loving protective energy to all. Mother nature can be a real bear! Only 18" predicted for tonight with 40 mph winds See ya in a couple days weather permitting
-
Proving to be quite futile the shoveling! 50+ MPH winds put it all back by the time we get to the end of the driveway. But great exercise, upper glutes on fire! We have power as of now. Our roads are ...well Porter County is under a state of emergency. The superintendent of schools sent out a VM informing us of this ... and no school. Aahwww!

Michael Wincott as Top Dollar in the Crow stated "Childhood is over once we know we are going to die" When John Bonham died summer vacation was over! Led Zeppelin had been the rocket fuel that had powered the previous 3-4 summers. Van Halen were the new Cajones, beach, summer vacation, coming of age`all rolled into one! Digging deeper as I am wont to do. I discovered David Lee Roth studied the arts for real.(I understand Plant is doing yoga) He jokes that he was forced to learn as a result of the "forced busing" of the 60's (been there too Dave). Never got to see the genuine item with either of these bands but enough wisdom intrigue and inspiration to last several lifetimes. If you happen to be seeking fuel for secret smile PLEASE...PLEASE...PLEASE do the universe a favor and read Crazy from the Heat by David Lee Roth The Real Frank Zappa book (by you know who) Smile, You're Traveling (Black Coffee Blues Part 3) by Henry Rollins ...a sad aside... Zappa's band split in 1988 due to internal conflict original Van Halen... same... Rollins and Black Flag...same Page,Plant,Jones...same... JKD Concepts,JKD Nucleus...same Get the picture? Yin - Yang? + - I guess real heroes are human (Wow reality)! Yes middle age is here, summertime is on the horizon, and the beach dares me to come out and play. I remain (insane)

According to Dave in his autobiography Ed Parker was his instructor but "not my friend". Shinai ! He would take Benny Urquidez the road to train with him and bodyguard along with big Ed. I guess he picked up the sword and the kung fu from Paulie.

On the spot I honestly have to say no. Two hours a day everyday? The benefits should warrant wanting to give two or more hours daily. Lets say I could sleep 6-7 hours and still be sharp, have increased flexibility, stamina... am I answering my own question? Then yes!

I personally recognize when I am in MCO or Kundalini city it is like being on the 70 mph freeway and most of the world appears to be cruising at 25 mph. The reality is I believe I am the only one who "gets it", and end up off on a superiority trip to nowhere. I jumped on the 'True Blood" bandwagon with the rest of my family last season. If you saw it I need not explain. Come to think of it vampires, taoists, and JC (not John Chang) all have that eternal life thing goin' on eh? Ralis, thanks as always for the keen insight
