Qi Power Talent or a result of repetitive practice
sifusufi replied to sifusufi's topic in General Discussion
I remember having skills at 16 that were indeed sharp, (I put in the time) however at 46 the focus, desire, & motivation has waned somewhat. (lazy) Something comes along once and a while to "light a fire under my ass" so to speak. Keeping that fire burning is the trick. "Genius is the fire that lights itself" - Neil Peart (on Buddy Rich) -
Qi Power Talent or a result of repetitive practice

Daily practice Sounds simple in theory, makes great sense in application Thanks for all the awesome feedback (truth hurts eh?) well me at least. 00:50 http://www.youtube.c...h?v=F5ejj2RDkIU http://www.drummagaz...-practice-tips/ Yup! Daily practice # 1 -
Reminds me of the Uriah Heep tune "Circle of Hands" "Today is only yesterday's tomorrow" "Every day sends future to past, every breath leaves me one less to my last" - Pull me under Dream Theater http://www.youtube.c...h?v=cKhfkfnbAMQ Leaves me breathless actually!

Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water... Not exactly what I had planned to wake up to today. The search for the book title continues, maybe someone here has read it?
-
No, the intro to this book which escapes me right now opens with a fictitious account of a commuter witnessing the sun "hanging in the sky" not setting and a loud vibration occurring. It has been 32 years since I read the book. I will come up with the title somehow. What about the song? I hope someone has heard it before or is familiar with Robert Fripp or J.G Bennett. Peter got it right eh?

Thanks! It's just a matter of time or a few phone calls to get the name of that book. My reoccurring dreams usually involve a geographic local I frequented as a kid, I am trying to get back to the house I grew up in in most of them. (I think that last sentence is grammatically correct)

Your vote for the most emotionally intense films?
sifusufi replied to Encephalon's topic in The Rabbit Hole
At least a dozen views of the entire film. I cannot watch without getting choked up to this day. At 12:20 is one of my personal favorite scenes, really pulls out the emotions. There are so many instances in this film. http://www.youtube.c...feature=related I always tell my wife it is the greatest love story! -

You Know You've Stayed In China Too Long When...
sifusufi replied to 宁's topic in General Discussion
# 54 made me laugh so loud I hope I didn't wake anyone! And #301... My wife and I were on a Lake Michigan beach in late June 08' and this Asian church group was singing Silent Night or We Wish You A Merry Christmas (In native language) with guitar accompaniment and yes! actually captured some on a cell cam -
My now wife and I purchased this DVD from a Tibetan store in Evanston Illinois in Spring 07' when we were still dating, along with one on the rivers of Indonesia. Most of what I see are exponents of Kundalini yoga, and Wei Dan (external) Qigong. His hang time rivals Michael Jordan though. Some of his torso dynamics remind me of Hindustani singing Check out 01:57! And what are these guys doing at 01:12??? Stumbled on this looking for one of my favorite Tabla players Ustad Tari Khan I believe this yoga will produce more energy and insight than someone functioning in the mainstream could handle. This is just my belief having been through rough rides riding the waves. Aside: After practicing Kundalini yoga with my now wife we made an immediate decision to get married within two weeks of our first Ana and Brett session together. Peace and stability Robert

I was driving east earlier and it was a huge sight to behold, the sun was setting behind me as well. I stared for a while later when darkness fell. There was cloud cover when we were outdoors about 0200 yesterday and it was not too far off of resembling crepuscule. It also reminded me of the darkness prior to a monster thunderstorm. http://www.youtube.c...h?v=QIVoOwOMq2c Thelonious Sphere Monk
