Mostly I agree with your all postings. Just a bit different idea about feelings people may think negative. They are not 'negative' things in feelings we can experience. They are all part of us and often we are caught in these feelings naturally. recently I also experienced deep grief from the loss... very painful and depressed for a while. accept it as it is when we feel it and when it comes, then look in distance yourself and the feeling.... but also there are times we feel happy and pleased... that's life and we just enjoy fully all the feelings but of course should not caught in it too much and long....remind the words 'it will also pass over soon'

This is about Haiku syllables ; 5.7.5 or 5.7.5.7.7 But 5.7.5 syllables rhythem were naturally formed by the characters Japanese has. 芭蕉野分 (ばしょうのわき) して 盥(たらい) に雨(あめ)を 聞(き) 夜(よ)かな -Basho- The above Basho's haiku is formed by 8.7.5 - 字余り (means more syllables) also there are poems formed by 字足らず - (less syllables) 群（むら）がれる 5. 蝌蚪（くわと）の卵に 7. 春日さす 5. 生まれたければ 7. 生まれてみよ　　 6. - 宮　柊二 - I agree it's better trying to keep the rule. But I believe that true sense of Haiku is to express your words in heart in brief,...so we can be a bit freer from Haiku syllable rule, 5.7.5... : ) dawn came but not you. clothes were wet with dew, it soaked into heart.

really sorry but reading the link, well.....I do not think it shows the true Korean Taoist hermits and its practice at all..... The true Taoist hermits with wisdom would not show off his breaking power on TV! eating and using pine needle for foods is still very common thing in Korea and from long long time ago the pine needle was called 'hermit's food' pine needle wine Pine needle powder Pine needle juice (& tea) Pine needle fermented juice........ also eat its inside skin(松肌) for rice cake and rice soup... and pine tree flower powder for cookie(harden with honey) : ) but not sure if you can use all species of pine tree.... because I'd seen my mother used only its endemic species in Korea....because of milder taste, better fragrance, and less tough.... But most of all you must get the clean one, also free from chemicals... I can't agree to that Confucius was the wisest man in the world but anyway... : ) I made 'Muk'(Korean food made with arcon powder) today....It's very common food also here.... It's very interesting European also eat arcons...I didn't know that...thanks for link!
