Well, John Nash, equilibrium. A.win-B.win is better then both A.win-B.loose and A.loose-B.win. win-win situations is always the one to seek. Its as simple as that. Entire philosophies in your head will just mess with your clarity of mind.

Don't look at the video if it will hurt your heart. Sometimes, fate brings the inevitable. If you could rewind time, what would you do, or where would you go? How would you use, or not use this ability? Write it.

I think you might be right. The times I witnessed beauty was more of a contrast in mindset rather then environment. Beauty does not require a change in environment, rather a change in your own brain.

Well, appart from 2netis, most of you guys are not immortal. So you would do well to contemplate what fears you are willing to face when death did not play a role in everyday life. What sadness you are willing to let go of when an eternal life is your fate. Then decide yourself if you can do those while living aswell.

Beauty becomes more beautiful in the contrast of ugliness. But yeah, even amongst ugliness we can see alot of beauty. Who needs to rewind time when he can simply accept the perfection of this?

Hey, peepol. Got a question in my mind and would like to get a good perspective from someone else. Have you ever heard the business advice for city people of "You should never dine alone."? That you should always break bread with someone when you really want to get to know them and bond with them. The reason is, appart from sex, dining is the only experience where you use all of your senses. You taste the food, you smell and see the food, you hear the music, see the restaurant and the person, you hear the conversation, you feel the texture of the food, knife, fork, table. It stimulates the senses, creating a more rich experience. Where awareness becomes rich, life becomes rich, you feel more in control. Why am I sharing this with you? Because some people don't have all these stimuli around them, which makes it hard to create rich experiences and become more aware. Its like this: when you lie in bed and you close your eyes, the visual stimuli will be reduced to almost nothing. Becoming aware on what you see becomes hard, becoming aware of what you feel when not moving a muscle becomes hard aswell, unless you got spiders crawling under your bed sheets. This is how we loose awareness, naturally, so that your body may become paralized without notice and go in the sleep cycles of healing the body and some dreaming along the way. The dream generating process itself, however, is a very rich experience. The senses can be very stimulated by the dream generating process. Attaining awareness in a dream is a wonderful experience. When you accidentally wake up right in the middle of a dream and don't move a muscle so that the dream begins again. This is called a wake initiated dream. You can also become aware that you are dreaming within the dream itself. This experience becomes a lucid dream aswell. This is one of the most vivid and most rich experiences to be had, because literally every sense is intensified to a 120% of the usual waking experience, since the stimuli come from the dream generating impulses within your own brain. Most people never knew this, because they don't recall dreams or lucid dreams that well... When you test it within a lucid dream and remember to answer the question of "Do my senses (taste, smell, sight, feeling) feel more intense and vivid in the dream then the waking world?" you will get the inevitable answer of "yes", to be remembered even after you wake up. So, my question: How do we make the senses more receptive to stimuli so that we may live more rich and vivid lifes?

The taste of metal in dreams. I am content in the wandering of these mysteries, thus I don't even own or need a gun. If someone shot me, the experience would simply be more valuable then when I shot him. My violence is passive, yet equally powerful. Another misconception is that I live in time, or live with abstractions such as close or far. These do not even enter my mind. Our situation on this earth, seems strange. Everyone appears here involuntarily and uninvited, for a short stay, without knowing why. To me it is enough to wonder, At the secrets...

Lets pay attention to my ability to smell. I breath in as deeply as possible, smell something, but not sure what. Then I breath in deeply again and I smell a slight diffrent scent... The change between scents is what gives me great receptiveness as I practiced your words. Smelling diffrent things, the desk still has the scent of spray from 2 weeks ago. My 2 months old calculator on the desk still has strong scent of fresh plastic. The empty plate with bread crums requires all my focus to smell the chocolate that was within the bread. The most interesting is the plastic bag that was left behind here, by someone I know. It was given to this person by someone who went to vacation... How do I know this? I know these people, I smell the parfume of the person who left it here, and I smell the dog of the person who gave it this person while driving his dog to a temporary care taker before going to vacation. The scents are old. Infact, I can still smell the scent of my jacket from the clothing shop where I left it for a while, 2 weeks ago. Attending the present to deal with the past, it opens your awareness in unexpected places. If the taste of her lips are like the end of a gun barrel, it is time to wake up.

You guys are trying to discuss the purpose of life or this body trough words, which will never lead to enlightenment... You must "know" without a single hesitation that your purpose is cookies. Chocolate cookies... You create them with your hand and mind, with love and idealistic perfection, inspired by mother nature. Your purpose to gather orranges and make cookies, or gather the best cookies on earth and share them with everyone. You will share cookies with the selfish, with the masochistic, with good and bad. You will witness every reaction as one of your own. You will learn from the experience and you will contemplate on the kind of reactions people get when receiving chocolate cookies with orranges. Your wisdom grows, you begin writing poetic lines and print them in milions of cards to go along with your cookies. People are willing to pay for your cookies, the entire world will care for you, because you are a cookie and the cookie is you. Nature will show you this when your mind has accepted that the cookie is the purpose of your life and body. The cookie is not a lie... Those who hesitated, even to the slightest, found themselves locked up in a room for eternity, scratching paranoid sentences on the walls of fire. Rather accept that the cookie is your purpose, and die trying to supply the entire world with cookies and orranges or live to tell the story.

How does Tao Te Ching go beyond believes... I want to discuss this so that we might understand it. Perhaps just point eachother into the right direction, giving clues towards the path. I do not care about wasting my time, even if I have to share all my wisdom with all of you. As long as we can speak about this on these forums. I believe that believes are at a deep core in all of our lives. Mastering the right believe will give us great power and influence in the world, but it will also cause alot of conflict when not flexible with your perceptions and you must be willing to accept that when you try to change realities. Believes alter and filter your perceptions greatly, leading to alot of misunderstandings between people of diffrent backgrounds and believes. To understand this, try the following: If you believe in god, try telling yourself that god does not exist. If you do not believe in god, try telling yourself that god does exist. Feel the conflict arise in your chest. This is a sample of a conflicting believe and every battle rises from this core. The battle between realities. The reality that is relative to each person. Sure, religion and culture bring people together by unifying believes, but then cause wars aswell because the believe is worth fighting for. Perhaps our entire life is an ongoing battle towards creating the best reality, and take as many people with us as possible. I believe that this human nature can not or should not be changed anytime soon, rather we must change the methods of waging our wars into more peaceful and subtle battles. Football is a great way to fight out conflicts and to bring together people from all around the world. Personally I think that olympics is superior to football and should be the replacement for war in the future, but thats another story I just wished to share with you. Back to believes... Someone who believes that he is intelligent will unconsciously act that way, or certainly move towards becoming intelligent if he is not so. The conflict arises when another person tries to convince him that he is infact stupid. Some people have little faith, give up on their believe and become stupid, therefor loosing the battle. Others stand and fight, becoming extremely angry whenever they sense a threat to their believe, this is a sign of fragile faith aswell. One with strong faith will simply deny the fact that he is stupid and continue believing that he is intelligent, even though he/she is stupid. To outsiders these people might seem extremely annoying or very stubborn. So being faithful and looking "dumb" and "stubborn" seems like the way to go for these people. Letting go of faith in order to open your mind and become all intelligent seems like the way for other people. These two extremes don't go well with eachother, and if it is one thing I've learned in Tao Te Ching: it is ballance. In that case we must be faithful, yet still be open to new realities. How is that possible without loosing your faith? Living beyond abstractions of judgements of the mind. Alot of things feel like a threat, but don't have to. Master the alchemy of the mind. You will see the reality in each moment, so that you may find the suitable believe in every moment and situation to apply your faith onto, yet still practice the strength of your faith. Perhaps I've already said all that came to your mind, perhaps you want to discuss a thought that was not yet mentioned. Leave a comment.

If our awarenes is the key to tap into this golden pool, we could live beyond believes? Its like tapping into the well of experience.
-
Yeah, becoming aware of this is essential in creating any form of art. When I play the piano I feel exactly the same way. The best music comes from contemplating the silence and potential between the notes. You simply begin touching one key and allow your mind to flow towards the other, depending on what mood you're trying to create. Being aware of all potential in each moment you can also move towards perfect timing. But this is only possible when you have mastered the skill of playing the musics instrument, or "translating" the potential trough your fingers or whatever.
-
Perhaps the concepts are insignificant to us regular humans and just show how our reality is an abstraction of something bigger or smaller then our reality, just like that abstraction might aswell be an abstraction of something else, etc. A determenistic point of view is the way to go then.

Hello to you aswell, Twinner. I want to understand your perspective better. Are you saying that we should or should not live with believes / faith? Or are you saying that it doesn't matter? How can one live without faith / believe? An idea means nothing to the human mind, since we can have infinite ideas. If we would live without emotional attachment to certain ideas, it would lead to confusion and eventually allow your right hamisphere to create believes. I don't think one can live "without" believes. I do think that one can change their believes, which 99% of earth do not even consider as a daily practice, but rather a contemplation. And it is this changing of believes that I'm talking about. Not the believes itself, not religion either. Several believes form your reality, but yes, one can learn to live without this reality by constantly being aware of your believes, contemplating the opposite of your believes, living in the present moment, drawing infinitely from experience. But you cannot live without believes I think, because we can never understand everything in existance either. You can just seem like you live without believes, you can seem to be very flexible to change, you can seem to have "mastered" your own perception of your perceptions, so that you may choose to act trough contemplating rational probabilities first. So woulden't it be better to be in control of your own direction of believes, since you have them anyways? This would get your narrow mindedness out of the way when experiencing new events, so that you may learn from them fully, rationally, and become wiser quicker, without having to experience the same event 50 time before you finally "understand" it.
-
Well, actually... Everything IS nothing. Without bringing the notion of time in it. It is a quantum state where time and space cannot be seperated and become 0. Infinite potential is a great way of describing it. We can never understand "everything/nothing" because our human evolution required of us to grow intuitions based on the expressions of these quantum mechanics, and not the quantum mechanics themselves. To actually explain how this understanding affects us as human beings we must take a closer look are our perceptions. Understand that everything is possible, but don't have the same probability. Becoming better at recognizing probabilities by seeing patterns in our lifes, unbiased by the narrow mindedness that our believe system causes. That is the key. Because then we can understand which future to believe in. Since we can never fully predict the future, we must choose to believe in one emotionally. And if we understand that, the last key to freedom is within our own ability to "believe" in these constructive ideas, with emotion. Will attaching emotion to the idea benefit us is the question that we must ask or wether an idea is "probable" or not. Not wether the idea is true or false, because everything is possible in the direct sense. Surely, we can believe in something. But the believe will be hard to hold on to, and it will also be hard to feed it emotional energy. I wonder wether anyone has any significant insights in those fields. I mean so far we're just using the power of awareness to focus on certain idea and allow time itself to provide with emotional value for that idea for it to become a believe. Any other way to speed things up?

To add, about my name and the relation to the video being a coincidence. I got it back years ago from Theory of Everything by Einstein. It was his lifework. The theory kinda feels like "finding the beginning of time, to find the equation of god or everything." Time turned out to be so much more then a creation of memories tho be traced back to the first moment, but it still fascinates me how all the past events translate into the present moment. This brings forth the thought of finding the first moment ever to unveil the ultimate "one" truth of everything... And that is nothing... Nothing is everything, everything comes from nothing. So we must keep this in mind to understand how the nature of the mind works. It perceives and acts accordingly, and we can only choose to change our perception in order to brake trough the chains of fate. The ability to perceive our perception is strongly related to the symbol of everything/nothing, in my mind. I tend to move toward believing in "everything" since that translates into love and care for me. While believing in "nothing" brings me wisdom and courage.

I'm glad you understand this nature of the subconscious mind. I'm not sure about the precentage, I just know that the subconscious has about a milion times more processing power then the conscious mind. The video documentary is not from me! The concepts I've had in my mind years, just feels like a coincidence to me though. I know that these ideas are trying to be communicated all the time, by many people. Especially these days. This video does it pretty well. The research is done by Reese Leysen, to my amazement. He is the director/camera man of Athene, Wrath of the 1337 king and Furious. My friend gave a link to this documentary to me, knowing that I have a passion for any physics related documentary or neuro-science related topics. Don't even mention it manitou, I know its complex. For me it has been very difficult to fully comprehend the physics parts. Enjoy the clarifications of it

So, I think we all pretty much have a clue of what this means. Now for a little motivation and more scientific approach to proof this concept, so that you may apply it to your own life, or share this wisdom with other: I must say again how important this concept is. If you become aware of how your mind "believes" and become conscious of this process, you will have found freedom. The truth of what is, is an seperation of space and time by cognitive disonance. Rather we must find the best believe and practice faith with flexibility. Holding the same believe for too long is not good, changing believes too often doesn't work either. There are certain believes that are better for the entire world, and will consruct a good world naturally without effort, automaticly even. That is how powerful our believes are. Stay on top of your believes.

The sub-title says:Don't make light of your body and then in the post the words are: "How can the ruler of a great country Make light of his body By rushing about in the empire?" What is ment with making light of the body? Also this verse, similar to yours I think. About peace: "If you offer music and food Strangers may stop with you; But if you accord with the Way All the people of the world will keep you In safety, health, community, and peace. The Way lacks art and flavour; It can neither be seen nor heard, But its benefit cannot be exhausted." Then this one came into mind: "Beyond the gate of experience flows the Way, Which is ever greater and more subtle than the world." Then this: "Experience is a riverbed, Its source hidden, forever flowing: Its entrance, the root of the world, The Way moves within it: Draw upon it; it will not run dry." And this: "Beneath sensation and memory The Way is the source of all the world. How can I understand the source of the world? By accepting." Conclusion: Accord with the way, beyond the gate of experience, by accepting within experience. Peace will follow. This is what comes to my mind. But I'm not sure exactly if what you posted is about Peace. Perhaps I'm wandering off here?

Especially when it comes to creating art, like playing a music instrument, concentration is important. You require to be fully present, one slip of thought will ruin the entire play. You must go into trance as soon as you touch the first key. Plus, skill concentration allows for more present mindedness, without fatigue. Its very useful and extremely beneficial for your brain as well.

The following verse in Tao Te Ching shows us how the "stubborn" believers create rituals that last for generations and cause blindness to the truth. Why? Because one should not seek for the one truth. Even the first one and only truth in the beginning of time is ever changing. That is what TTC teaches us. Everything changes, always, into infinity. Nothing stays the same. Everything is possible. Everything can even be nothing and nothing can be everything. So we have to accept all on earth, for it to become our home.(Unless you're reading this from Mars right now) 38. Well established hierarchies are not easily uprooted; Closely held beliefs are not easily released; So ritual enthralls generation after generation. Harmony does not care for harmony, and so is naturally attained; But ritual is intent upon harmony, and so can not attain it. Harmony neither acts nor reasons; Love acts, but without reason; Justice acts to serve reason; But ritual acts to enforce reason. When the Way is lost, there remains harmony; When harmony is lost, there remains love; When love is lost, there remains justice; But when justice is lost, there remains ritual. Ritual is the end of compassion and honesty, The beginning of confusion; Belief is a colourful hope or fear, The beginning of folly. The sage goes by harmony, not by hope; He dwells in the fruit, not the flower; He accepts substance, and ignores abstraction. Belief is a colourful hope or fear, the beginning of folly. So for a strong faith, one must know and not believe. Know that you are happy, know that everything is perfect so that it may be so. Accept the perfection and harmony in everything that happens and you will see without abstraction. This is how Tao Te Ching goes beyond believes. The way is to be conscious of how your mind believes and find freedom within that.

I've never understood non-doing, but it does seem good. To die in order for your fellow earthlings to live. It seems good to die, be passive, do nothing. How could death disrupt harmony? I have no idea what people mean with that. About inaction, I'm that way aswell. Always self conscious about my own behaviour alone, how I treat others. Putting the weight of the entire world on my shoulders, and then complaining and becoming a passive rat. Thats a weakness you must learn to deal with. Try to be decisive, even when the decisions are hard to make. It is better to do something wrong then to not do it at all in my experience. But this has nothing to do with your behaviour being "good" or "bad." It does relate in a way that "good" people tend to have passiveness as their weakness and "bad" people have impulsiveness as their weaknes. Balance, my friend... Balance. Harmony with Tao, freedom.
-
Sounds fair... Here are my thoughts on this. I believe that your subconscious mind CAN be changed, because I've done it my self personally. It does "seem" to require extreme effort, it does "seem" to be a slow process aswell. The quickest path is also the most difficult. A great focus and awareness of the desired reality and a determined intention/desire of getting there is required... Simply believing with your entire being in something will make it a reality, eventually, if you can believe with great focus. Easier said then done, yes. I lasted for 2 months with a complete 100% faith in a better reality. Great times, to be remembered as one of the best moments of my life. Thats the quick way to make your self believe something and have it become reality very quickly. Unfortunately, such quick/big changes can only last in Las Vegas, lol. You simply cannot believe in something that is not true without having alot of conflict with the outer world + alot of pressure on your dwarfs to work a 110%(interesting link from astral anima). You will find that your believes are challenged every day, alot, if they are so far from reality or past experiences. These conflicts will motivate for great changes in your life but it is exhausting if done too hastily. So taking it slow, by making small changes, improving your believes that way will have your dwarfs working in regular pase, which is more then powerful enough. To believe in something you must first have a clear picture in your head of that reality. For example, lets take an alcoholic. He will try to change his passions of alcohol to: "I hate alcohol." It will never work, because he has never experienced such a notion with his entire body and mind. It will never become a reality. His subconscious mind will have nothing to latch on to and the believe will dissolve like any other thought or idea into the nothingness it came from. While if the alcoholic would go and believe "I am a healthy person" it would feel conflicting to drink alcohol, not wake up early to go jogging and taking cold showers, not to eat a healthy meal. Suddenly, the believe becomes a reality, because the idea of "a healthy person" is more familiar to the subconscious mind. Perhaps thats where the struggle lies for people who are not certain what to believe in order to change their life for the better. In those regards, yes, we must take small steps towards changing and take it slow. Sure it requires great awareness to focus on the new believe baking it into your brain 100% of the time while it is still raw. Eventually the destined change will arrive, like the example of the alcoholic. The more subtle believe of "I am a healthy person" will lead to "I hate alcohol." The same struggles can be found in lucid dreamers who are trying to control the realities within their dream. It's called dream control. They take huge steps, like the following example: A dreamer is falling from a tall building and feels like he is about die and fall down, there is nothing he can do. He knows it is a dream, so the fear is lost. The time to practice dream control has come. The dreamer tries to believe that he can fly(huge step). He tries with all his might, flapping his arms but nothing happens. His subconscious mind has never experienced this kind of flight and thus cannot create such a reality for the dreamer. So he learns to be more subtle and flexible in changing his reality or more specific his perception of the reality. He remembers that he has experienced a parachute on one of his vacations in the past. This is certainly fimiliar to him. He believes that if he pulls an imaginary cord a parachute will open and slow his body down, and so it does. Suddenly there is a parachute, but he cannot steer that well. The parachute is flying him towards the building he dropped from... One scenario follows: he panics and in haste tries to believe that he can go trough the window of the building(huge step), not a familiar experience, he smashes against the window and falls down, wakes up... The other scenario, you can stay calm and find a more subtle and felxible change in believe like "the window is open" a more familiar experience, and you go right trough it just to find yourself in your own appartment with your girlfriend in the house. Mission accomplished... The parachute pulls you back outside again. Lol Lucid dream practice is great. If you can find the lucidity that is...

oops, how do I delete a post? Well... Uhm... Now that you're reading anyways, I shall refer to: [What Sloppy Zhang said]... xD Awesome
