Yeah, it's called don't beat off before a date and talk to her. Women are people too, it's sometimes hard to remember that when you want something more than just a night out.

The Lower Tan Tien Is "Similar" To A Black Hole/SuperNova?
GreytoWhite replied to SonOfTheGods's topic in General Discussion
Black holes do eject matter sometimes. The ejecta spews from the poles in intense jets of matter and energy. -
Exorcism rituals on the rise as way to battle evil of Mexican cartels

My teacher is providing hypnotherapy to criminals here in Arizona with much success. In the next few months I'm going to be learning from him quite a bit. It should be interesting. -
Only if you have some pre-existing injury. If you have knee problems and do not stand correctly you can further injure yourself. You must pay attention to your body whilst practicing. Do not attempt more stressful stances until you are able to hold the easier ones for 15-20 minutes. Do not stand so wide that is painful, uncomfortable can be fine sometimes, do not stand so low that it is stressful. Do not let your knees go over your the front of your toes until you are able to sit into your stance so that the backs of your thighs and the ground are parallel. Do not let your knees go past the front of your toes whilst in an angular stance. If something hurts, stop what you are doing. Above all, pay attention to yourself.

It's happy dance music.

Aye, the nearest YCGF location to me is in ABQ, NM. May go out there to learn some xingyi before I go to the Philippines to learn Liuhebafa.

I hate to admit it but I rather like disco at times.

Never have been a fan of the genre. Just doesn't do ANYTHING for me. I used to party with these guys after I got out of high school, they were all about "punk rock spirit" along with the rest of my friends. Still don't get it, I guess the "punk rock spirit" isn't inherent in all of us.

Yet another article on a primary stance for some styles. http://www.ycgf.org/Articles/7Stars/arti_7star.htm

This is another good resource. I cannot stress enough though, no matter how much you read, no matter how much you stand on your own, until a teacher provides the corrections and the proper feeling you will be swimming upstream with boots on. http://www.scribd.com/doc/44686995/Zhan-Zhuang-Qigong-You-can-feel-it

Don't waste your money, there are many resources on the Internet for stances. I recommend this. http://www.shuaijiao-kuoshu.org/13Shi-San%20Tai-Bao.pdf

Aye, it is a gong fu system from Southern China that combines a few Sil Lum Pai styles into one and taught in individual animals. I focus very little on anything but martial development currently, fried myself meditating a little while back, I am endeavoring to embody myself further. Hint: Chuan and Quan in Northern Chinese means fist but in Southern China they use kuen.

You will never learn proper stance training from a book, sorry but IHTBF (It Has To Be Felt). If I recall correctly you are in Aikido, does your line focus on kamae at all? If so, ask your instructor about kamae and the mechanics of them. Also, focus on the kihon dosa of your art, that's where all the "secrets" are, you will not learn aiki from letting yourself be thrown.

Strong core muscles help back pain, and reduce the chance of injuries
GreytoWhite replied to BaguaKicksAss's topic in General Discussion
cheya, when posting please try to remember that each Bum is a unique individual with different needs. I am a rather severe case having been through several small strokes and losing nearly all function in the left side. Trust me, everything in my abdomen needs to be loosened. -
Why on earth would one practice more than one system?
GreytoWhite replied to BaguaKicksAss's topic in General Discussion
I think the meditation aspect of it can be dangerous but I have yet to see any issues with combining practice of multiple martial arts styles built on the same principles and body mechanics. There are moves and exercises from different lineages and arts which complement each other very well and can open doors to kinesthetic awareness you may not have gotten from your teacher or that art. Hard AND soft are both required to fight, if one's practice is not for fighting all the more power to you. I have been forced to fight my entire life and the soft alone is too slow of a path to actual usage. -
Aye, darkness is easy to fall toward especially when you have a little light at your disposal. What you do now is what you will be in the future. Charitable work sir, give of yourself as much as you can.

Aye, the TA is definitely my biggest issue, particularly on the left. As I slowly loosen it my ribcage is expanding and my upper back is decompressing. -

WordPress is the BEST content management system for a web site in general but can be somewhat complex for making only a blog. Blogger is very easy to use but hasn't changed much over the years.
