On Longing: Spring Forest Qigong Master Jim Nance Qi-Talk on Free Friday 4/12/2013
Ish replied to voidisyinyang's topic in General Discussion
Really liked the talk thanks for transcribing that. Looking forward to the vid if the uploading manages to work. -
I guess John Chang himself passed his energy through jascha and confirmed he is "level 2a" otherwise how/why would one make the conclusion that one has reached 2a?

Squats right the way down. Medium ~ slow speed. Make sure your breathing is still relaxed.

Meditation result (degree of mental clarity) during the cycle of day and night?
Ish replied to ChiForce's topic in General Discussion
This happens to me aswell, like clockwork. The energy is very vibrant at this time, i still need more development to get up outta bed and do a practice session consistently. I think it also has something to do with the arising of Yang energy. This is definitely an ideal time to practice, and i guess as cultivators we get to the point where we are more in tune with the energy so naturally wake up at this time. -
Just do it as a standing meditation, bring your awareness and feeling back to your body. Relax relax relax. Settle into the correct alignment. It's a great qigong practice. Some kind of moving qigong is a good complement to Zhan Zhuang.

Do you have any prior experience with Qigong or meditation?
-
You will get internal power. IF you practice it correctly and sufficiently. If you do a lot of Zhan Zhuang ( like 1hour in a few postures) correctly every day you will build a LOT of internal force.

I don't agree with this. There have been many people in dire circumstances much much worse than any of ours and they still managed to make the best out of it. Example: look at some of the Auschwitz survivors or some of the Tibetan and Chinese people who were imprisoned by the communist regime. Of course it takes a great person to be able to deal with these circumstances but they had it a lot worse than we do.

There's nothing wrong with you, You are simply making the mistake of looking outside for fulfillment and also letting outside things tell you that you are good or bad. You really are in complete control of your condition. Take that back and find freedom and happiness in yourself. Legit qigong and meditation have helped me personally 100000000%. I recommend it to you.

Nah it's a forum for people who want to be multiple orgasmic Mo Pai alpha supermen . On a serious note I'm interested to know how long you've had the ability to feel the energetics that are effecting the planet? I ask to compare what you felt it was like "x" years ago compared to what it's like now. Best

Yeah i think it is due to his accessibility that we mostly hear about Rinpoche ( ) . Of course there are other great Lamas out there but English speaking, openly teaching Dzogchen and the accessibilty through webcast is very very helpful.

Hmm, i think you can only burn out on practices where you are actually applying some kind of "force". If in vipassana you are simply being aware and noticing with equanimity then i don't think you can burn out, any reaction would just be from clearing. If you're forcing yourself to sit in some posture rigidly without moving for a long time then I think the build up of energy with the tension of that can cause some problems.

Zhan Zhuang and listening to/watching other things
Ish replied to estuary's topic in Daoist Discussion
Should do both, like you said it will help your body to be accustomed to the posture. The core of it is practicing it as meditation. You will build much more energy this way. -
Just don't get stuck in your head. I think it's a shame when people go far to much into the intellect and get stuck there. There's also the other side of the coin and you get trapped in a dullness. Both should be avoided. Like the others have said it's probably OK just have some awareness if you feel like you're getting stuck in it.

Qigong Grandmaster Yuanming Zhang - My experience
Ish replied to ancienthealth's topic in General Discussion
Awesome dude, you have a great opportunity to learn with this Master, I would make full use of it!! From the article that Drew posted : "Qigong provides a vehicle to help us and our children cope with the sense of separation from nature and alienation from spirit." I think that is so important. -
Shaolin Yijinjing Gengmenpai "12 postures" seminar in the *USA*, Summer 2013
Ish replied to grady's topic in General Discussion
Sounds interesting. Just a suggestion, for the people who attend this course perhaps it could enable them to get a small discount for the training retreat of the main system with Master Jiang if/when they are able to pursue it. Could be a good way to encourage people. -
That's disgusting. Hope they can resolve their situation.

Clicking and tapping sounds during meditation..
Ish replied to ChiForce's topic in General Discussion
If you're getting to that border between waking and sleeping, sometimes you can hear strange sounds. Happened to me a few nights ago during laying down meditation, heard a loud bell noise, it was like one of those big church bells and it echo'd very strangely - definitely not of this world. So if its the same case for you, I wouldn't worry just don't let yourself get drowsy in your practice. -

Naked in Ashes - A documentary on Yogis of India
Ish replied to voidisyinyang's topic in General Discussion
If you've watched it - Are these legit Yogis or the "sadhus" that put on a show while pretending to be the real thing? -
So first difference is that it takes a lot longer to realise unfabricated presence without direct introduction? The other traditions, in particular Taoism and Hindu tantras, definitely work with the body & channels. The difference therefore lies in HOW they do it compared to Dzogchen?

I'm sure you've said it before, but I can't find it at the moment. So what's different about Vajrayana? If you've written it before pointing me to it would be great thanks.
