Right... I read one chapter and had to immediately throw up, will not be going back for round 2.

Lol, to be fair, it was his crack at a juvenile response. I wouldn't take it seriously. Plus Sinfest is a guy, even with all the pony stuff....

Me neither, look forward to your next vids.

From my readings about medical Qigong, with regards to healing others, the outer energy will be transformed by the healers dantian, therefore it will be immediately useful for the patient.

You know who teaches Kunlun, or whatever other practice, go and learn it from them, not from a student online.

I feel the most important thing is moving past the intellect, and then, just being. So if you can let go of the chatter, stop your mind from attaching to things, the awareness can be experienced.

To those who practice sitting meditation - do you sit on a cushion or not? Why? Benefits/drawbacks? I myself have done most my practice just on the floor, which is thinly carpetted. Standard cross legged has been fine, but with my half lotus/lotus i've been noticing some imbalances in weight distribution. So I grabbed a reasonably firm cushion and used that - noticed straight away that the weightage seemed a lot more balanced, had a nice meditation session. Would like to hear your thoughts!

Well obviously you need to lower that horse stance!

I don't think this path is meant to be easy. Perhaps you have not been thrown off it at all, but due to your practice this latent problem/attachment has been unrooted and is manifesting itself. There is a method for cutting the cords that attach you to another person, in this case it seems like the attachment is draining you.

I feel better going to sleep before/at midnight and not getting up later than mid day. I think if you just bring some awareness to your own schedule and shift it about for a few weeks you will figure out what helps you feel the best. From a naturalist perspective, sleep when it gets dark and rise with the sun . Don't think i have the discipline to shift to that!!

I've found this to be good training, in the Stillness-movement when i'm practicing well external noise that may "shake up" the energy usually is not affecting me, though this is still something that i'm working on. The stability gained from this also goes through into the rest of life where i feel more in control of emotions and my state of being. Very good!

No, it's not boring. You probably want to be a master quick but do not have the dedication/ true desire to even be a student first.

Not a fan, some parts of the songs are alright, but then it just turns into garbled diarrhea sounding noises lol

If you have a debilitating problem/pain, i don't think you're too worried about decades in future when you may die, but rather not being able to function or enjoy life in the present.

I wonder if you've never been in pain to say that healing is not useful. Look into Michael Lomax's healing system the results are astounding.

HAHAHAH oh god I know this situation, hasn't happened for a couple of years though luckily!! But now as the weather is changing the big bad spiders are going to return, will have to be sharing my room with some unwanteed occupants

I believe you wouldn't get any harm from reciting it, main thing in my opinion is to approach with sincerity, then your compassion can come out. However personally out of respect for the conditions i would find another mantra/dharani to recite.

do you carry a copy of the tao te ching with you?

Resisting, forcing, imposing your will, worrying, thinking excessively rather than being etc etc -
I have the book and can certainly recommend it, very good, as are Sifu Wongs other texts on practice.

I would think the main criticisms against Zen would be a lack of cultivating energy or life. The risk of falling into a "dead" void, i believe within the Zen traditions they call it Zen sickness. I reckon in a lot of high level Taoist alchemy systems the methods of cultivating the original mind or nature are quite similar to Zen, but there is also a big emphasis on the Immortality and nei gong aspect. Im sure many of the practioners here will notice that successfully practing their qigong will improve their meditation also.

Translating "Questions and Answers on the Golden Elixir" (金丹问ç”)

Well could it not be - Heaven = head, Earth = Lower dan tian, between them are the lungs/chest. By the act of breathing the lungs are the bellows fanning the fire in the dan tian. -
I would like to reproduce a passage written by Master Wang Chongyang: On Sitting Sitting does not mean physically sitting still with the eyes closed. This is artificial sitting. True sitting requires that the mind be unstirring as a mountain all the time, whatever you are doing, in all action and repose. Shut off the four gates - eyes, ears, mouth, and nose - and do not let external scenes get inside. As long as there is the slightest though of motion or stillness, this is not what I call quiet sitting. Those who can sit quietly in the real sense may be physically present in the material world, but their names are already in the ranks of immortals. It is not necessary for them to call on others, for the century of work of the saints and sages in the body is fulfilled, and they shed the shell to climb to reality; a pill of elixir is made, and the spirit roams throughout the universe. There's also 2 passages on "Overcoming the Mind" and "Refining the Nature", these are all found in Opening the Dragon Gate. Im not sure if they can be found online, i'll type them up if someone doesnt have the book.

Well if you couldn't move then its probably just sleep paralysis, don't worry about it, loads of people experience this. It's also common to see and hear stuff which might scare you while you're "frozen". Guan Yin bodhisattva mantras always feel very protective to me, so good choice, im not suprised it helped you. Maybe try sleeping on your side.
