I feel Guan Yin is important in this age, at least for me. Mantras such as Namo Guan Shi Yin Pu Sa and Om mani padme hum feel very powerful. I've not gone deeply into meditation with Guan Yin but nevertheless feel very grateful towards her.

Wait, so first its qigong masters now qingong (lightness art)? Please can you inform us of some false Qigong/qingong masters that you've studied with? You can't continue to generalise and say everyone is fake when that's obviously not the case. -
When the sole of your foot is flat on the ground, don't let your knee bend past your toes. Also your structure may be slightly off making some excessive force stay at your knees instead of going into the ground and rooting you. So stretching and zhan zhuang are a great combo to get your structure and increase internal force. I believe you can use the individual palm change postures as zhan zhuang, but ask your Sifu. Best

Chunyi Lin is teaching workshops on the East and West Coast

In my opinion with the knowledge we have thats "open" these days, we could all get to an incredible level. For example just techniques like gazing at the dan tian or emptiness are crucial in many cultivation lineages. How many people these days can be bothered to increase their practice in these foundational techniques to many hours a day? That's the standard expected by many masters IMO. -
Yeah interesting, the illustrations in Taoist Yoga also have the left leg on top in lotus. Perhaps right leg on top for building energy, yang oriented cultivation. Left leg on top for the spiritual level. Maybe it's just not important .

Have some respect. Who are you to judge anyone's level, have you ever learnt from Chunyi Lin?

NO. Sorry you won't get your immortal body by the 3rd chapter of Taoist Yoga, keep reading!

"Voidness that does not radiate is relative, but voidness which radiates is absolute" Does this refer to the non-duality of emptiness and form?

Nah, as far as i remember, the dan tien and 8 psychic channels "vibrating with vitality" is basically the foundation. So it says you can't gather the alchemical agent unless your 8 psychic channels are free of blockage and full of vitality. I also remember, at the stage just before you have to leave society and practice in retreat, if you stopped progressing there you would be considered an "Earthly immortal" with much increased vitality and longevity. There's some intense purification before this so i suppose that qualifies for a new body, of sorts.

Dhyana (sanskrit for "meditation") = Ch'an (chinese) = Zen (japanese) Zazen = seated meditation.

IMO and IME its completely incorrect that Zen or Buddhism in general involves intellectualisation as a method of Prajna or wisdom

As you should be!

He learnt samatha meditation (concentration) from masters, having reached the peak of their practices, he realised that it could not end suffering by itself. He did ascetic, self deprivation, practices for 6 years. In general with the Buddhist path to Enlightenment, concentration and morality are two essential practices to start with. With regards to your last question, I think you have a wrong assumption. You should understand that phenoma aren't inherently good or bad, it is how you perceive it or respond to it that gives it this quality. So studying textbooks or a pressured job aren't inherently "anti- enlightenment" (whatever that means lol) it's how you do it.

any helpful advice for me to understand of 'feeling Qi'
Ish replied to noelle's topic in General Discussion
The more relaxed you are the stronger chi can flow. The clearer your mind, the clearer your perception, which helps to feel chi. Learn some basic qigong patterns and practice them fully relaxed fully in the moment, no effort, no force to perceive anything. Im sure you will experience chi in no time. -
Just an excuse for people to not practice and pretend they are enlightened - classic 24/7 practice excuse. Of course 24/7 practice is what you should do, but you need a foundation - and training sessions to add depth. If you've put some time and effort into meditation you would realise its worth. Saying otherwise indicates you are above the level and teachings of masters such as Buddha and Buddhist masters, all the yoga masters, all Taoist masters etc.

Has anyone had bad experiences in Neidan and overcome them?
Ish replied to QiLearning's topic in General Discussion
I dont think doing MCO early is very good, beginners can make too many mistakes with the instruction to "visualise". Also without a developed lower dan tian it's not much use anyway. I recommend sponatenous qigong practices for clearing blockages. -
Aw shame I missed it sounded like an interesting convo. Anyone write it down?

Good thread, I look forward to hearing from some of master Wang liping's students. I recall reading that during the retreat there are 2 hour sitting sessions in which you must remain still. So working up to that in full lotus seems like a solid foundation.

Correct alignment and relaxation both interplay and effect each other. Progressing towards a deep level of relaxation has a profound effect on the chi energy and the mind. So my main focuses in zhan zhuang are alignment, relaxation and an empty mind.

Made me (Q _ Q) aswell good movie

I really question that snippet which says alcohol connects you to the divine. If it was true im sure our society would be a lot less dysfunctional, at least in the UK.

Hey Can you give us your thoughts/knowledge on how the sick chi comes back? Perhaps a karmic/shen imprint that attracts the sick energy? Thanks

Practice Zen for 30 years and scream Devil/homo at someone because of their name and disagreeing with you. Hope i don't end up like this hahah.

Hey Drew, is leg numbness ever a problem for you in full lotus? I notice that after 40 mins - hour in half lotus my legs (or one of them) get tingly, maybe nerve pinching im not sure. I sit on a relatively hard floor, no cushion etc so that might be the cause.
