  1. What Books are by Your Bed?

I've got a book about the code of the Samurai Warrior by my bed. As well as one about Chi Gung, The Men of the Bible, and Buddhist Mindfulness applied to everyday living. But I didn't finish any of them yet. The one I can't seem to put down and am definitely going to finish is called "The China Study". If you read this book, it will probably change the way you eat forever. The author is a scientist whose research is eye opening and mind boggling. The information in this book will not only help you to be more healthful and live longer, but could probably help many on their spiritual path as well.
  2. I think I figured out the rapture thing.

Possibly your light will visit the great light (source, God, etc) briefly and then be reincarnated. If the person reached enlightenment in their life, possibly they get a choice to stay with source or come back? Just an idea.
  3. Lights flicker around me. My PC often goes bonkers around me. Both of my vehicles have displayed very odd transmission problems in the last 6 months. Some of you will probably say that it is coincedance. But it seems like much more than that. Anyone have similar experiences?
  4. The Nature of Truth

What if the only truth is that we are all one? Then, possibly every other truth is simply a subset of that. Kind of like breaking up white light into all the colors of the rainbow. Each color is real and true, but also a part of the whole. So depending upon which filter you are looking through, the truth you see and experience might be different than the truth I see and experience. A wiser man than me once said "one truth, many paths". PS...I am speaking from the theoretical here, not experience.
  5. What made YOU laugh today/tonight ?

Last night on TV I watched the movie ROAD TRIP (from the year 2000). I forgot how much I like that movie. Laughed hysterically!
  6. Masturbation and the Law of Attraction

I have 3 initial thoughts on that video/this topic. 1. I found it to be HILARIOUS...kudos to the OP 2. I don't completely buy into the law of attraction 3. If you masturbate to a picture, then possibly you are sending the energy to the picture?
  7. Spiritual awakening and car problems?

Cool video. Will be neat when/if those things start happening!
  8. Spiritual awakening and car problems?

I have not been contacted by any guides or angels. Should I still call on them? Who is Grace Elohim? Is this the same Elohim from Jewish Scripture?
  9. My take is that siddhis are spiritual gifts that result from enlightenment to help one in service. I am not certain that they need to manifest in order for one to be enligthened. Rather, if you need some sort of spiritual gift for your ministry or service, then you will receive that gift once enlightened. I am a firm believer that the siddhi should not be the goal of your practice. The goal is enlightenment and the siddhi manifests as necessary to aid in minsitry. Of course, this is my opinion which could be WAY off as I have not yet attained enlightenment and am therefore not speaking from the wisdom of experience. Basically, this is my best guess.
  10. Aromatherapy

I respectfully but whole heartedly disagree with this philosophy. The goal at least for me is enlightenment, union with the divine, oneness, consciousness, bliss or whatever you call it. However I get there is fine. Sound therapy helps. Aromatherapy helps. Proper nutrition helps. Even physical therapy like massage can help. Whatever it takes to get there. I think it is beneficial to use all modalities that will help you to reach your spiritual goal. Once you reach enlightenment, you don't fall out of consiousness do you (really, I don't the know the answer)? So if you could take a pill and that pill would liberate your soul, why would you sit for years in meditation and possibly not get there?
  11. If I can ever get my kundalini to really rise rather than whatever it is doing now, I am assuming that I will have a truckload of energy when/if that happens. In the interim, I would like to cultivate a lot of energy. I used to take ephedra, man, that seemed to generate a ton of energy. But this time I would like to do it in a more healthy manner. What techniques, meditations, postures do you all enjoy that also help you to be vibrant and energetic throughout the day? Any specific form of qigong? AYP? Tai Chi? Any specific meditation? Kunlun? I presetnly do Zhan Zhuang but the practice has grown a tad stale and I have become undisciplined and inconsitant in that practice. I am thinking that something new might generate some new enthusiasm.
  12. I actually have tried some of the poses in the next book, but I don't like them as much. They seem to be more complex postures leaving more room for error in form. The instructions do not seem to me to be as clear or precise either. If I had an instructor, I think the next series of postures would be good to learn. Let me know what you think as you develop in this new practice. PS...I found the 2nd book on-line somewhere as a free pdf download.
  13. I lived in Richmond for 1.5 years as a teenager. 1987/88. Graduated from Midlothian. Then moved back to Richmond in 2004. Curently in Mechanicsville. Thanks for the note!

  14. I had not yet contacted her because I was not aware of her. Thank you.
  15. Zhan Zhuang Rocking

I have been practicing ZZ from Master Lam Kam Chuen's book "The way of energy" for 4 years. This is my only ZZ experience and I have had no formal instruction from a teacher. But my gut reaction is this: if you must think about the rocking, then stop doing it. If it happens spontaneously, then go with the flow. I don't rock back and forth, but my entire body starts shaking and trembling often when I practice ZZ.
  16. Well, I have always been a high energy guy. I have lived at the gym most of my life. But since the Kundalini started awakening, I have morphed into a low energy person. I can't make it through a single day without taking at least one nap, often more. My strength is WAY down. So I guess I would like to cultivate more energy to feel normal again and to defeat the chronic fatigue that has plagued me the last 4 years. Now, as far as the kundalini energy goes, I have no idea what to do with that if it ever chooses to rise. I didn't ask for this to happen to me, it just did. The whole experience has been quite awful. So I have no idea what to do with this K energy, if anything. I have read about everything from tantric practices to being a healer to being a shaman. Thing is, how in the world can you pick a spiritual path when you have nobody to mentor you and you can't experience the path to see if it's something you would want to do with your life? I go various meetup groups and people talk about being "co-creators" or the world being an illusion. That is simply not my experience so I have trouble relating to them. So for now, my goal is simply to reach enlightenment,to experience the consciousness/unity I have read and heard so much about and to lead a happy productive life.
  17. Excellent. I will give this practice a try and see how I feel with it. Nonrelated question: what do the trees in your avatar symbolize?
  18. Thank you very much. I am curious to know: 1. Which ZZ postures do you do and for how long? 2. Standing with left palm up and right palm down...how long? Any visualizations during this posture?
  19. Does anyone know the difference between these 2 experiences?
  20. Greetings all. 4 years ago I had a healing crisis that has been ongoing. Over time I have realized that Kundalini energy has been cleaning out my system (sometimes violently). I even had what I think I would clasify as an out of body experience. All this coming from someone that didn't believe in any of this stuff 4 years ago. I have done yoga, a little tai chi, a lot of Zhuan Zhang Qigong and a lot of meditation. I played around with Kunlun, but any method that requires refraining from sexual activity/ejaculation is not for me. In any case, I have significantly developed my awareness over the last 4 years. However, I think I might have one of the following: yang deficiency poor circulation adrenal fatigue I am frequently tired during the day and require nore rest than most adults including daily naps. My hands and feet often get cold, especially after eating. And I am more sensitive these days that most of the women I know. All these lead me to believe that I might need to cultivate some more yang energy to come into balance. Are there any exercises, poses, movements or meditations that you know of to cultivate yang energy? As I have not had much formal training from anywhere, mostly researching on-line and in books, if you offer any suggestions, please leave DETAILED instructions and or links ot them. Thank you in advance for any assistance that you might be able to offer.
  21. How to cultivate more YANG enegry?

My theory is that I have an imbalance of excessive yin energy. That of course, might be incorrect. So I am simply seeking energetic balance. Perhaps a better question would have been how to achieve a yin/yang balance?
  22. I would think that this is the case too. But part of me thinks that you can connect to someone's energy without your direct knowledge, thus, accepting them as a teacher indirectly. Someone might ask you to read a book they read, then ask you to go to a place where they went to (maybe not even telling you they went). And in doing such, you possibly follow in their footsteps and connect to their energy. Just a theory I have...
  23. I am curious to know what type of healing modalities you use. I do Zhan Zhuang, Yoga, and mediation for my spiritual development. I have tried with success aromatherapy, oxygen therapy (using hydrogen peroxide), sound healing (using different vibrations like a gong, tibetan bowl, music). Even simply just the laying on of hands seems to work. All of them have worked to some extent. The one modality that seems like complete BS to me is Crystal healing. Maybe it works, but that is not my experience (and I pretty much rely on experience for my truths). I cannot connect with a stone or feel it's energy. However, my 8 year old son told me that he left his body when I had him doing a meditation with various genstones on his chakras. He saw all sorts of strange creatures. Told me that he cisited the center of the earth. That kind of spooked me because I have never had an experience like that. Anyway, curious to know what type of healing modalities you use.
  24. I have read that when a Shaman is coming into the time of his ministry, immediatly before he goes through a serious illness while his physical and spiritual bodies are cleansed. Kundalini also rises. Many, many odd experiences start happening to the initiate. He eventually surrenders to be trained as a shaman. It can be a brutal process to the initiate. Sometimes I wonder if that is what I am going through. Mind you, I don't wish to be going through it at all. My goal is simply emlightenment, peace, joy, happiness, as well as leading a genuine and auithentic life. But the last 4 years have been like murder.
  25. Consciousness

This post grabbed my attention and was thought provoking because it does not quite fit with my concept of enlightenment. I have heard the phrase before and after enlightenment "chop wood and carry water". However, I have always viewed enlightenment as a call to service (like Jesus or like buddha). If there are no fruits of enlightenment, if life just carries on the same after as before, if it does not benefit humanity in any way, then why pursue it? Couldn't all those hours spent in meditation be better spent in activities to benefit the planet or other sensient beings? Would you mind providing a further explanation as to the meaning of your post?
