  1. Practicing QiGong in the Rain?

I practice Zhan Zhuang style qigong as instructed by Master Lam Cam Chuen in his book "The Way of Energy". He does not say why, but he instructs the reader not to practice in the rain.
  2. The Law of Attraction

I believe that much of what you "manifest" in your life is a result of your actions. Every actions begins as a thought. So in my opinion, you attract what you think about only as much as those thoughts influence your actions. For example, if all you do is think about getting rich, I don't believe that wealth will simply manifest in your life. I believe that these thoughts will lead you to do the things necessary to get rich. It's more of a simply case-effect relationship in my opinion.
  3. How to cultivate more YANG enegry?

My digestion is spotty. I say that because I have loose stool frequently. Every week but not every day. Of course, I eat a lot of fiber and I don't eat many things that would be considered binding. So it's tough to say. But ever since my kundalini started coming through I have had loose stool on and off. One stretch it was for 4 straight months. I don't have heartburn or any other problems that might be associated with poor digestion.

Thanks for the well wishes rainbow. I like your name I'm still in the hurricane right now but hoping for my rainbow soon...
  5. Consciousness

I can believe what the original poster said about consciousness, about unity, about oneness. It makes sense to me, but only on an intellectual level, not experential. It's a belief that I have: we all are one. It's common to the mystics of any religion, not just taoism. However, to me it's just an intellectual belief. What I would like to do is experience this unity or this oneness. Does this happen when one experiences the bliss of spiritual awakening? My kundalini has been poking through now for 4 years. I have undergone many changes. But I cannot say that I have experienced oneness yet. Reading a wise thought on-line and believing it is one thing, but knowing that the statement is true through the eyes of experience is something entirely different. Also, I wonder if this is the same oneness that Jesus spoke of. Is it the same oneness that yogis refer to. And is that the same oneness as the buddhas enlightenment. Do all spiritual paths truly head to the same place? And if so, does it really matter if I pursue shamanism or tantra or any other path?
  6. How to cultivate more YANG enegry?

Thank you all for all the wonderful responses. I have a number or responses and or observations from the above posts. 1. I am 41. All of this started happening when I was 37. I have felt like my world has been turned upside down. Every belief brought into quuestikn for scrutinization, then put back in differently. Every habit changed. I am a totally different person than I was 4 years ago. 2. My diet is 80% what I said it was. The other 20% is less healthy. I will eat pizza one time per week. Peanut Butter is still big on my list, though only natural peanute butter that contains peanuts and salt only. Salty snack foods like chips, doritos, etc only occassioanlly. Sweets like little debbie cakes occassionally. A little bit of dark chocalate daily. But mostly the whole foods, fish, whole brown grains, qionoa, millet, fruits and veggies. 3. I tried the meditation listed above (picturing the body, the muscles disvolving off the body, then the skeleton bone by bone shining brightly, then the skeleton turning to ashes. You know whatm the meditation had the same effect on me as doing Yoga Nidra. Deeply relaxing. 4. Thanks for the Yin suggestion. I will go seek out a Yin Yoga teacher in my area and take a few classes. I probably like Yoga more than qigong, but both practices are great. 5. I am kicking up the exercise regimen just a tad as I think I might need to circulate my energies a bit more. But nothing like I used to do. I used to be the gym rat: 365 pound bench press. 500 pound squat. Now I do zero squats and only exteremely light resitance training through a range of motion taking 10-15 seconds with high awareness on the muscle being used. The cardio I do is almost never 100% as hard as I can go. 6. I think I might need to get grounded a little more strongly before I can ever experience bliss. So possibly stepping up the Zhuan Zhang practice might be good too. Thanks for all your input!
  7. How to cultivate more YANG enegry?

Very good suggestions here. 1. I don't get enough time outside, especially in the winter. I am SO glad the warm spring weather is coming! 2. My diet is pretty good now( but was awful for my foirst 37 years). Lot's of fruits and veggies, lean meat (mostly fish), nuts, milled flax seed, only brown grains, very few processed foods, only green tea and water as beverages. 3. Currently in a marital separation (my choice). But this situation is very taxing. 4. Probably not enough exercise. I do some every day, but not intensely like I used to. Prior to the kundalini starting to awaken, I was a gym rat. 2 hours a day. Now, my strength is gone. my testosterone is down, and my energy levels are down. All the spiritual people I meet tell me that I have TONS of energy, but the spiritual energy is not converting to physical energy. I think much of my energy is being spent on cleansing the physical body. 5. I sleep on my back.

Thank you for your reply. I will gladly take a look at your posts regarding karezza. Question: what is KAP? Where can I learn about it?
  9. Contemplating Veganism Any Advice

Before going Vegan, consult a GOOD accupunturist. He or she should be able to tell you if a Vegan diet is right for you. It is not right for everyone. The combination of energies that were present whern you were conceived is unique to you. Depending on what combination of energies exist in you, meat might actually be beneficial for you. If you do go Vegan, these tips work for many, but still, your accupunturist will know better. 1. Soy is not really a health food. 2. Eat plenty of seeds and nuts (Flaxseed, Almonds, walnuts) 3. Milk is not a health food 4. Eggs are healthier than people think 5. If you cut out or greatly reduce "white" from your diet, that will probably be good for you. Brown/whole grains are typcially better. 6. Avoiding processed foods is generally a good thing. 7. Fish oil is good for you 8. Green tea and water, drink plenty of both and little else
  10. Anyone struggle with tiredness?

I am 3 years into a kundalini experience. My body has gone through extensive cleansing. I practice Zhan Zhuang style Qigong, yoga, and sometimes Kunlun Nei Gung. I feel as if maybe my nervous system is not ready for all this energy causing frequent tiredness as well as numbness along my brow. Anyone else experience something similar? Any suggestions on how to alleviate tiredness?
  11. Zhan zhuang

I am teaching my yoga instructor the Baduanjin. She sees me warm up with these 8 movements prior to class and says that she feels great energy from my hands when they point towards her. So I told her that I would teach her the movements. I would also like to know, are there any Zhan Zhuang poses that can be done with a partner?
  12. Zhan zhuang

Shifting the discussion just a tad here. I am curious what you all think about practicing the standing ZZ poses on your toes/balls of the feet. I tried this the other day and seemed to get 2 results: 1. I felt a stronger energy flow, espeically up my legs. 2. My calves were definitely tired after 20 minutes of standing on the toes. Is standing on the ball of the foot possibly an advancement on the traditional poses? I am talking about for basic poses like Wu Chi, Holding the ball, standing in a stream, etc.
  13. Zhan zhuang

Well, Daoism is just one path to the truth. Swami Satchidnanda said "One truth, many paths". There is a lot of wisdom in that statement. I think a lot of people jump around from practice to practice because they haven't found one that truly resonates with them. Others might jump out of fear or misunderstanding. I also think that there is a lot of misinformation out there as well, confusing the aspirant. I applaud anyone who starts on the journey and try not to judge the path(s) they choose as the path to self realization is not easy.
  14. China Being Poisoned by Its Food Industry

It is not just China that suffers from a tainted food supply, but many places, maybe the whole world? Too many pesticides and herbicides. Too many genetically modified organisms. Farms have been turned into factories raising both animals and crops in a way that is unnatural. Man is out of touch with nature. PS...If you like this topic, rent the movie "Food Inc". It will open your eyes to how little you know about where your food comes from, what is in it, and how it was produced.
  15. Zhan zhuang

I have been practicing Master Lam Cam Chuen's "Way of Energy" Zhan Zhuang for almost 3 years now. Also practice yoga and sometimes Kunlun. My Zhan Zhuang sessions have become very intense, my whole body or various parts of my body spontaneously shake, sometimes violently. I build much heat and sweat too. Having numbness in forhead and brow frequently and am often very tired. Could I be developing too much chi for my nervous system to handle? Might that explain the tiredness? I am definitely experiencing Kundalini, or at least kundalini on the rise, maybe not a full blown Kundalini experience. I feel that I am on the verge of a breakrhough in consciousness. But I struggle with the tiredness. It truly impacts my ability to focus and work. I am curious if anyone else has experienced this too.
