Thank You! I've been trying to get an invite to that site!

I did one of the exercises followed by SFQ active exercise, and for the first time in a long time my shoulder didn't hurt all day! I might rewrite all of it in standard english. Thanks for sharing!

Are you meditating or are you self-hypnotizing yourself?
mike1234 replied to Birdoftruth's topic in General Discussion
I've found myself awaking from totally emptiness from hypnosis more times than I've had from traditional meditation. I think that it isn't a visualization vs X. Different techniques have different goals. -
Low brow question: Is it normal for reverse breathing to supercharge the digestive system? I've been practicing reverse breathing for about 2 weeks and my digestion process has become really fast. Is this simple physiology? Contracting the stomach compresses the intestines, which moves waste faster?

Thanks for posting this. The authors style of writing is as confusing as Castaneda. I will have to read it a few times to get it.

That's the hypnotized begging puppy pose that guys teach their girlfriends.... Literally man's best friend. -
I somewhat agree with you! IMA is supposedly self-defense oriented, and MMA is a ring SPORT. Self-defense is about doing whatever is necessary to survive. I think it is more truthful to say that IMA guys just don't train hard enough or realistically enough to pull off their super duper break the grapplers neck move. Unless you have practiced such a technique in real time against an aggressive attacking partner, then you have no idea if it will work. No, I don't mean that you have to break someone's neck to know if it works, but you need to know if you can effectively stop the shoot. All IMA and Chinese martial arts students claim that the defense against the take down is to know how to root, but none of them show the effectiveness of their root-against-the-shoot technique against a real grappler. They always have one of their inexperience students run at them like a 4 year old, and yell LOOK LOOK --- I just defended against the shoot! Root-to-neckbreaker-head-smash is just a THEORY until you've done it to stop an experienced shooter. Grapplers normally have more sensitivity than life long Ta Chi practitioners because they learn how to yield and sense under real stress against aggressive partners. What does the super root-to-neckbreaker-head-smash have to end in death or serious injury? How many BJJ guys break their opponents limbs just to know that an armbar works? The screams and tapping is enough. Why can't the IMA root-to-neckbreakers show the effectiveness of the move without the kill? Simply show how you root and setup this super technique without killing an aggressive spar partner? Surly these masters have that kind of control. A poor presupposition was established--- Grapplers blindly shoot--- no way! A good grappler will setup a takedown so fast that you will not see it. I had a pal that was really good at judo take me down so fast that I didn't know I was being attacked until I felt myself hit the ground. MMA guys simply have better training than most TMA guys-- ESPECIALLY IMA guys who have 0 experience dealing with aggressive fighters.

They have inner power, but they don't have a paypal account? I lol at their ordering process. I haven't mailed out a form like that since I was a kid-- ordering silly stuff from the back of comic books. Paypal + Online content delivery = business supremacy.

That iron ear technique is like level 21 stuff

What is your opinion on taking revenge without holding onto ANY hatred? An example would be taking revenge on someone that has harmed your family. You take your anger and completely experience it, dissolve it, take your revenge, then forgive the antagonist and move on with your life. The problem with revenge is that the act of revenge doesn't cleanse you of the pain that you've experienced. So, the goal is to experience your pain fully, and to NOT associate your revenge as a solution to your pain. Take the act of revenge for what it is-- What is revenge in this scenario? Justice? Instant Karma? Natural Law? Just a thought!

It's actually quite EASY to believe! MMA practitioners spend all their time sparring against aggressive unyielding sparring partners. They build a lot of fitness and fighting awareness. Remember the saying--- "You Perform How You Train." YOU PERFORM HOW YOU TRAIN-- How do most Internal Martial Arts guys train? Do you really think that forms and passive partner drills prepare you to fight? If your training is unrealistic, then expect to get you butt kicked. The biggest lol thing is when you see guys doing forms, and classic punching drills. Get real! In a real fight guys throw hooks shots, flurries, and are spontaneous. YOU PERFORM HOW YOU TRAIN-- In defense of 'real' martial arts. Most martial arts styles are not intended for the ring. A ring means an agreed upon fight, squaring off with some street thug is AGREEING to a fight, going into a fighting stance is agreeing to a fight. The martial arts are not about fighting, they are about self-defense and putting an end to an attack ASAP. This means going from Joe model citizen to chain punches and eye pokes in a matter of seconds. This requires a whole different mentality than spiritrock-peace angel- I hope the forms I learned work because this is the first time I've actually met a real opponent. If your training doesn't consist of facing sparring partners that try to kick your butt, then you are not prepared for the ring or the streets.

Tell him thank you! I woke up with less pain today! SFQ is the real deal.

Has anyone bought Bruce Frantzis's "Tao of Letting Go" on Audio CD?
mike1234 replied to awake's topic in General Discussion
I've just started passively listening to it, and have found what I've learned so far to be of 'some' value. It was this CD that was the impetus of my revenge post. I'm not so sure how good this method is for healing the physical body, but it is quite valuable for healing emotions. I haven't gone through all of the material, and I'm focusing more on SFQ, so I'm using this right now as background 'music' while I work/ as my night time story! -
What other linages emphasize filling the dantien? I'm sure that mopai isn't the only source of this type of training. The yellow bamboo people aim to store red fire into their lower stomach. I remember playing around with the level one exercises and having it set my dantien on fire and full of energy. We shouldn't dog people for keeping their word.

Taking Revenge Without Holding onto Hatred

Because that would definitely result in prison time! -
I've read that the MCO/small universe can be really dangerous. Why does Master Lin feel that it is okay to teach this to beginning students?

Taking Revenge Without Holding onto Hatred

New scenario--- Your younger (cousin, brother, sister, etc,) runs home crying. He/She says that Joe neighbor inappropriately touched him/her. You live in a neighbor hood where it takes the police 30 minutes to show up. Joe neighbor is on the sex offender registry. What do you do? I go for the all out as kicking, and TRY not to bring my pistol. Scenario 3--- You come home from work and you hear screams coming from your bedroom. Your wife is being a raped. She pleas NO NO NO STOP it! You burst through the door and the rapist jumps off your wife and raises his hands in the air. What do you do? I shoot to kill, then call the cops. Scenario 4--- You come home from work and you hear screams ECSTASY coming from your bedroom. Your wife is cheating on you. You burst through the door, and your wife's lover jumps up with his hands in the air. He says, sorry dude! What do you do? Sorry dude... Bang Scenario 5--- Your sister's boyfriend repeatedly beats her to a bloody pulp, and she refuses to call the police. You confront said boyfriend and he talks a lot of trash to you. What do you do? I let my pistol do the talking, and put a knife in his hand to justify my actions. .. I guess the wimpy responses I got before was because I presented a wimpy scenario. My whole outlook on violence/self-defense/self-offense is too leave my enemy in a state where he cannot ever attack me or anyone else again. Fearing of retaliation is not an option in my world. Even in situations where serious violence is not needed or condoned, I am willing to create legal, and emotional justification for my acts. Coming to terms with this truth, I must also do some emotional cleaning of house. My enemies are dead or in a state where they can no longer attack anyone else. Did my anger towards them also died with their demise? I suppose the sequence is: take your revenge(street justice), deal with your anger, deal with your loss, and get on with your life. Writing this make me want to turn into Batman -
Why does my qi projection produces a cold high pressure painful beam? Can his projection method be used for self-defense? What are the implications of using mudras based on the 5 element theory in our healings?

Player Supreme has some of the best advice. Present the best you to the world, and grab the women that are attracted to you. I need to use this advice to get a date to a friends party! My game is very rusty! Wish me luck.

Could you ask him if dropping the active exercises and only practicing the small universe is ok?

We all eventually come to the same conclusions.
