hmm like shrek and the onion thing we have many layers etc etc. lol so what your saying is peal back the layers to see whats inside and you can only do that if you let go? so your saying if i let go of understanding who i am i will understand?
-
so from the understanding from some so far the answer seems to be keep practising what you are doing and the answers will unfold right? its just that some times i feel like i dont know who i am compared to the vast complexities of this universe and knowledge. its like where do i fit in whats my role? surely not to sit and meditate for a whole life time. altho im understanding the benefits of that but still i do want to be more active than that. even tho doing nothing is doing everything. i really want to establish who i am within this universe with no contradictions, no lies and no compromise. and im finding it really hard to mix taoism and be an individual. either that or i dont understand things too well.i do have a teacher but i havnt spoken about this. plus the whole sex issue, if we were born in two groups male and female sex that means it must be natural to have sex. so why do hermit toaists choose not too, to become immortal surely there is an immortal couple out there or has been. its not like we were born one sex like a snail.

he thing is i believe ive been assigned the task of bringing together tai chi onstage with modern rock music and visioning it together as one theatric show i just want to do it in a way that doesnt look pretentious or egotistical or patronising
-
so your saying a taoist approach to music is mostly instrumental? what if you want to voice opinions? and sing about them the closest ive got to taoist music is frank zappa. minus the part where he got involved in politics.
-
im still trying to understand in more simplistic terms
-
how can you ask a tree a question? anyway were deviating from my original topic
-
please there is one thing about taoist im not liking and thats how vague they can be lol and u know what i mean
-
but i mean your constantly refining this light inside. how can you give the truth of whats within without reaching the higher level to give peace and comfort to alot of people.
-
interesting so you are saying if i just "be" i will be more creative? the thing is doing music is about expressing from within but i feel that within is constantly changing so i wouldn't be honest to the peopple im singing or playing too. if i write songs. im still a little confused about this topic

i just spoke to master lams senior student and one day i will have a private consultation for my illnesses. he basically said that you can have different types of zhan zhuang for different needs. which intrigued me so that means some people might need to learn different zz for different problems. i will see him at some point its always money depending. -
yes the lower one and there's more dan tiens to fill? and if u have sex do you have to start over again?

lol grrr thats a huge book to read i will be studying all the ones you sent me soon. probably next week. but that said i would still like to hear what other people say
-
agreed. ive learnt so much from being here and gathered alot of books. plus if it wasnt for some members on this forum i wouldnt know how to meditate at all. so im very greatful.
-
could ask you the same question lol its comments like that that dont mean anything because the person whos commenting is usually in the same boat.
-
i think you forget chi kung is a way of life so this sounds very possible

ive had the same experience recently and ive recently solved it. if you are new to meditation try the Burmese sitting. and make sure your ankles are touching the floor. this sorted out my shaking and make sure you have the right mudra (hand contact). you should be creating a circle and interlocking your hands with the tips of the thumbs touching each other. if it still persists my teacher taught me to open your palm and concentrate healing energy into the palm and wait for it to build up then place the palm onto the area and allow the area to absorb the healing energy by massaging gently. also some shaking is a good sign of progress. but too much can be a distraction. if its too much then your probably sitting wrong if its a slight shaking and then fades away its a sign of your channels opening.

;p; whatever you say about homoeopathy being the tao hmm :S. anyway i went to my gp there current understanding of what ibs is, is very minimal. they said the best thing you can do is to learn how to manage it. they then gave me a leaflet about what it is. and started to ask me to write up a diary of food and sleep. to see any patterns. then she booked me into see a dietician and then i am going to go through the process of elimination apparently it can take 5 to 6 weeks with one food item. how many years of my life is that gunna eat up trying to find what it is that upsets me. oh and the reason why they cant find a cure for it is because they dont know the cause of it. so they cant treat the problem if they dont know the cause.

i am but with every practice there is an art to it. underestimating an artform is detrimental to the progression. its like not having good foundations. if your going to take something seriously its better to do it with a teacher than half assed. on your own. from my experience in just general learning. its the details that set you apart from someone elses practice.
