Otis, I like how you put that together for me. Now I get it! It's more or less how I already operate lol. I like it. Very laid back way of going about mental things.

Censorship On The Dependent Origination Thread
The Observer replied to ralis's topic in Forum and Tech Support
I think the censorship was unnecessary but the comment (Gold's censored post) was an ill-advised, temper tantrum. People want everything at once and don't have the patience to work towards certain things. I still stand by his right to say it though. -
Lol. That's a lazy way of looking at it Marble. If enlightenment could be attained through reading about it then the world would be a very easy place. It's akin to saying it's illogical to learn arithmetic if I have to spend all of elementary school practicing it because it's not self evident at first. I'm not technically a Buddhist myself, but if direct mental insight/knowing about the workings of the Universe/Samsara is the prize (pretty big IMO) you better work your ass off for it (meditate, meditate and meditate).

So, what if we are not good people?
The Observer replied to KCHooligan's topic in General Discussion
I always felt the key is to be good whenever possible. If you happen to make a mistake or inadvertently hurt someone, make peace with that/them and not be burdened by guilt. -
I wouldn't be surprised at all if someone already has "read" the skulls. The thing is you wouldn't hear about it, knowledge like this tends to be under heavy wraps. From what I hear the skulls are linked with Atlantis...who knows?

Wow Twinner that was beautiful -
Pick a path that works for you and follow it diligently.

The pain comes comes from indecision. Be clear about what you want to do and take it from there. No right or wrong. Do what must be done.

Hai! -waves-

Then what does it mean? Acknowledging it in a nonjudgemental way? Because I don't know how beneficial it is for my meditation if I start eating a bag of doritos midway through just off impulse lol.

Yeah everyone is biased. Even me and you. I do try to understand, most of the time anyways . Thanks for the reminder though lol. It's easy to overlook one's own faults.

The kid's reaction to his dad wanting a hug at 0:37 was priceless. -
9 Palaces Birth Numbers Form

Gotcha How does the switchwords thing work? I'm guessing it's words that trigger specific, desired reactions states of mind/events? -
Yes modern society loves to project it's biases back in time. Silly heathens!

Does "welcoming" every impulse and desire mean acting on it?

It could be the nameless void that we came from and go back to. The place where you happily forget identity.

9 Palaces Birth Numbers Form

I'm guessing the calendar system doesn't matter, just the mental intention of stating your birthday? I mean I'm pretty sure the ancient Taoists didn't use the Gregorian Calendar lol. -
Meditation Experiences and Questions
The Observer replied to Cat Pillar's topic in General Discussion
As I can only speak from experience I'd get the Level 1 guided Meditation CDs from: http://www.springforestqigong.com/store.htm And as an aside, one of my big "breakthroughs" before the Springforest Qigong came through simply sitting down in meditation, listening to Tibetan chants, and doing OM chants out loud myself. -
Unhelpful judgment, or a taste of the truth?
The Observer replied to Cat Pillar's topic in General Discussion
I don't think so for a number of reasons... I know for example, baby kittens are born almost completely blind (and I consider cats very self sufficient animals). Also cats, as well as almost every other animal, learn a wide range of things, from grooming to manners, from watching or being taught by mom/others in their own species. So you could say animals are as dependent as us in the early phases of life. I don't think we are individually weak and stupid. We are only as intellectually capable as we need to be based on our current surrounding factors. It's like calling a monkey stupid for not knowing how to use a calculator. He hasn't needed to learn to use one to live in the rainforest. Vice versa for urban humans, who haven't lived in the wild for a very long time. How can you be stupid for not knowing how to forage for food when it wasn't previously a necessary skill for you? It's all relative. A lot of good points! I would add that changing oneself causes those surrounding you to change, mainly in subtle ways, even without trying. I would say this is better than actively trying to change others. -
Very true...the spiritual path/path of enlightenment isn't an easy path to follow by any means.

Unhelpful judgment, or a taste of the truth?
The Observer replied to Cat Pillar's topic in General Discussion
Lol I personally appreciated the direct response. And yeah as long as you have the self-love thing in your mind....that's good; with that, your a hundred miles ahead of the rest! -
Awesome! -applause- Yes, sometimes the hardest thing is doing nothing. Why else would it take so long to learn how to enter truly deep meditation? You must train your mind to only and ONLY observe in a nonjudgemental way.

I'm one of those don't manipulate nature people lol. By thinking we could make the world better by adding things and being clever, ignoring nature as an extension of our selves, we've hurt our selves. The key is not activism, but to do less. Despite everything the blade of grass still grows through concrete. In truth, nature will outlast human foolishness, after all like Lao Tzu says, that which goes against the Tao comes to an early end.

And arguably everything your saying could be a projection of your theories and ideas onto a completely different process. We could go on forever lol. Which came first? The chicken or the egg? Anyways I just like to think that there is a certain mystery to life that transcends theory/concepts partly because it makes my experience more enjoyable/exciting for me and partly because it resonates with my personal experience. Could I be living in a personal hell of delusion? Maybe, maybe...only I can truly know and find out. The whole logic explains everything argument doesn't really work for me. Then again your definition of logic (left and right brain) is more inclusive than mine (left brain only), so I think we're saying the same thing with different words. I wholeheartedly agree with this last sentence. However you could also say it is a non-truth in that it is all inclusive.
