  1. Yes there is a form of yoga nidra within daoist practices but it simply goes by the name of shui gong (sleeping practice). Within Longmen pai we have 9 basic methods ( but there are others) and once a certain level of proficiency in them is reached they are combined together into one form that brings about an equilibrium of yin and yang. There can also manifest vision/scenery aspects to the practice beyond the usual qi manifestations. The basic practices are as outlined in the Lingbao Bifa Best
  2. Sorry I did not explain properly. I did not mean to insinuate that Professor Stephen Hawkins condition was bought on by his intellectual pursuits. Master Wang just uses him as an extreme example of someone who's three energies are hugely out of balance leaning toward the shen.
  3. Nice thread... The only thing I would add is that RV is shen work, and being shen work it burns a whole tonne of qi. If you don't have the required qi to cover the cost you end up all flaky and spaced out like Ingo Swann or worse still Steven Hawkins. Master Wang always uses Steven Hawkins as an example of someone who's cosmic energy/shen and bodily energy/jing + chi are severely out of balance. He knows everything that is going on in the universe but is sitting in a wheel chair. This is why in LMP we have to do a lot of cultivation on the jing, qi, organs and meridians before we're allowed to go and play outside. Even the third eye practices consume a lot to say nothing of going and checking out what Saturn's rings are comprised of.
  4. Gerard, I had a good eight years chan Buddhist practice before I begun using the neigong exercises of the mountain daoists so I have a rudimentary knowledge of both cultivation and would classify my own practice as dual cultivation. Mental application focused on bodhisattva path, 6 perfections together with the energy cultivation of neigong. Going to cultivate at a particular energy rich location is just another form of external elixir. Buddhism makes use of external elixir too in one form or another..
  5. I know the events and episodes in ODG seem somewhat fantastical and make believe but I wouldn't be too quick to write them off. Basically for most of us our practice has a ceiling - we actually have a cap on where we can get to with our practices based on our individual endowments of Jing, Qi and Shen. To move beyond your limitations that is where external elixirs come into play - Master Wang took elixirs on several occasions, one or two of which are documented in the book.
  6. That's cool LF, sorry I shouldn't have snapped at you. It's just after Falun gong, Longmen pai and Master Wang get about the most amount of abuse on here. I know the price is expensive. Tbh it's too expensive for most of us. I went to see Master Wang in 2011 and that will probably be my only trip to see him because the cost is so prohibitively expensive. Unfortunately it is what it is. That said, I would still recommend anyone with the money to go and train with him at least once. All the best with your path.
  7. Lifeforce, ...so much for running spiritual masters you've never met. I have done the 5 week winter retreat in a Chinese Chan Buddhist temple - and I've done ten days with Master Wang. The Buddhists just leave you to get on with it, Master Wang cooks your practice and you make a years progress in 10 days.
  8. Read the book, seen the master, got the t-shirt and practice the practice
  9. Hi all, Aurelian Popa, a student of Master Wang, who was given permission to teach back in 2009 has very kindly extended an offer to come to the UK and hold retreats teaching the authentic neigong practices of the mountain daoists as transmitted in the Longmen pai. I just wanted to gauge the level of interest and get an idea of numbers so we can begin to turn the wheels in motion and make this happen. For those who are unfamiliar with the moving and still exercises of the Longmen pai they are comprised of the following: Pingheng gong - Balance practices for exchanging qi, xin and ling with trees, stars, sun, moon and more.. Ziran huanqi fa - Natural energy exchange method, also know as the natural energy circulation practice is the walking practice which allows the practitioner to contract and expand the qi field while walking and exchange universal energy through the pores of the whole body. Also facilitates the opening of all the energy channels. Jing gong - The main sitting practices are yinxian fa (methods to illicit immortality) and sanxian gong (the three immortal exercises). Yinxian fa is the method to repair the leaks, build the foundation and return to the source. Sanxian gong is the progressive cultivation practice through the three levels of human, earth and heavenly immortals. Shuigong - Sleeping practice is done at leisure while physically lying down but not actually sleeping. It has several levels and many practices within it for exchanging qi, healing the body and training the shen and ling. Taiyi jinhua zongzhi - Golden flower practice for training the tianmu (third eye) and cultivating specific neigong lines within the physical body. ...and many more besides but these are the basic core practices. Peace and blessings,

Hey Jox, It is fairly basic information, nothing esoteric. Visitor - is the stage when you first go to see a master. If you never return and stop practicing you were just a visitor. Student - is the stage when you repeatedly return to practice with that master. Now you are studying with them consistently. Disciple - is the stage when you are formally accepted into that school or lineage. Either by requesting or being offered. Successor - you are chosen by the master to be the school or lineage successor. With Master Wang most of us are at the level of student, I am not aware of anyone who has been formally accepted as a disciple within this branch of the LMP. I must hold up my hands and say that my knowledge of the upper echelons of this lineage is far from exhaustive though.

BaguaKicksAss, Although the tuition is similar in price, the cost of learning the fundamentals of the system would not be anywhere near the price of going to see Master Wang. The idea is to make it affordable for those who cannot find the $9,000 to go to a 20 day fasting retreat.

So just to reiterate, who would actually be interested in attending an intensive? I know you're keen Blackfinger but is anyone else able to confirm?
  13. Longmen pai retreats in the UK

Dearest J, Thank you for taking the time to post here, it is very kind of you. Of course I defer to your greater knowledge and experience within this lineage every time. Hope you had a great intensive in Singapore just gone and I wish you much progress in the upcoming retreat in Romania at the end of this month. Bless

Hi Jeannette, Great to hear about master wang's upcoming intensive in Dalian this December. Just to avoid any confusion, the purpose of this thread is to connect people in the uk to the teachings of the Longmen pai, who otherwise may not have the opportunity to attend one of Grandmasters retreats.

Hi MooNiNite, Master Wang's fee is 200 euros/day currently, so the fee for the longer seminar is almost half the price. I had the good fortune to attend a retreat earlier this month in Romania with Aurelian and his manipulation of the field is extraordinary. Also his knowledge of the methods and generosity with the teachings are exemplary. Disciple and student of are not the same thing. He has been accepted into Master Jiang's school formally as a disciple, he is a student of master wang's as we all are.

Hi Andrei, Thank you for putting up the video. This is a demonstration they give of faqi (emitting qi) to validate the existence of qi to sceptics. While holding a patients hand this is also one of the methods of diagnosis they use to check the left right balance, the existence of blockages within the channels and more. I am no expert on Master Jiang's school so please forgive me if my explanation is a little off.

Hi LaoZiDao, Aurelian is a very highly accomplished practitioner. In LMP we do not have levels as they do in other paths but there are phenomena that appear during the course of ones practice and he has had many of these appear. I am not at liberty to discuss his achievements here. Suffice to say I do not know of another western LMP practitioner who has been given permission to teach by Master Wang. Bless

Hi Jetsun, tuition fees would be as follows: 3 day basic course - 399 euros/person (133eur/day) 9 day intermediate - 999 euros/person (111eur/day) we would endeavour to find suitable and reasonably priced accommodation - that would be in addition to the tuition fees. Same pricing structure as Master Wang's retreats.

Yes Ish, Aurelian is a student of Master Wang Liping and a disciple formally accepted into Master Jiang's school. He takes groups to visit him several times a year, I have met some of the people who travelled to China and have had treatment from Master Jiang and his students with amazing results.
  21. Longmen Pai

Hi Jox, I believe the Longmen pai retreats are no longer being announced here because they have taken a slight change of direction and require people who are already experienced with the system. The last 3 or 4 retreats Master Wang has hosted have been fasting retreats. The participants need a high level of familiarity with the techniques so as to be able to extract enough energy from the practice so as to make it through the 5 fasting days.
  22. Hi People, i checked previous posts on EMF [Electromagnetic Field] radiation, but they were focused on products you can buy to help protect you from the effects of this electro-pollution. I wanted to ask all you energy cultivators out there whether our qigong practice helps protect us from the effects of all the electro fields and junk being fired around us all the time? Do practices like pore breathing and expanding our energy field actually help protect us from EMF and the like, or make us more susceptible to it? I've been driving an electric forklift truck at work for about 5 years. The thing has three motors, so it's packing a pretty big EMF . I'm kinda hoping my qigong is somehow protecting me a little from all this radiation. Seriously considering a change of career though. Would love to know what you guys think about this. P.S. It was this video Dr Mercola sent me that alerted me to this threat. Got a lot of useful information for clearing your sleeping area of potentially harmful electro radiation. Best.
  23. Hi DD, For everything that you seek mastery in you need to practice the Longmen pai system of Master Wang Liping.
  24. Hi FT, The basic Longmen pai retreat format is working on 'refining the body to accumulate qi' - which is the stage before the much talked about Jing to chi conversion. It is worth noting that Master Wang is of the northern school which puts more emphasis on the third eye practices. Whereas the southern school focuses more on cultivating the body at the start. The analogy I was given is the southern school works on the house first (the body) then afterward builds the road (celestial eye pathway - line of essence). The northern school is the reverse - although, even as they build the road they are working on the house too. Feel free to ask questions - I'm just not sure what it is you want to know
  25. Taoist Third Eye Training?

Master Wang explains that there is a horizontal line running through the third eye/celestial eye front to back (xing xian/line of essence) and on this line are located several key points. The first point is between the eyebrows known as the heaven eye point/tian mu xue The next point is three fingers in along the line, this is known as heavens eye/tian mu or upper field/shang tian Further back along the line into the brain is the heavenly mirror, this is set at a 45 degree angle which is used to look down into the body for internal veiwing. hope this is useful
