Mantis, There has been an announcement made by one of the heads of the European Longmen pai that Master Wang will be coming to Austria in the summer. The provisional dates given were around August 23rd. I haven't heard anything as of yet regarding the April 13 retreat for masters foreign students. If i hear anything i'll let you know bro. Are you a student of master wang?

MoG, Regarding practices being compatable i would suggest you save up and go see a real master and learn a lineage practice. I fluffed around for 7 years wasting my time buying dvd's and going to classes, trying to stick all these random practices together. Looking back on it my face glows red (with shame). It is essential that we see someone who has travelled the road, otherwise we end up wandering off into a ditch, or lost on a million sideroads.

Hey MoG, sorry to hear you've been having trouble with you practice. From what you've said there seem to be a couple points to watch out for. Firstly you said your night practice. Do you only practice at night? When practicing qigong/neigong you have to take into account the yin/yang daily cycle and the four seasons in one day. Basically speaking, from 11pm to 11am is yang, and from 11am to 11 pm is yin. The yangsheng (nourishing life) practice theory is based on this. Those that follow this practice during the yang part of the day to increase the warmth, heat and yang energy in the body. As for the four seasons in one day, at midnight energy arises in the kidneys this is winter. By dawn it has reached the liver, this is spring. Noon energy is in the heart, this is summer, and at dusk it is in the lungs, this is autumn. So from midnight till dawn is spring this is the emerging energy of minor yang. From dawn till noon is summer, this is the growing energy of major yang. Noon till dusk is autumn, the gathering energy of minor yin. Finally from dusk till midnight is winter, the storing energy of major yin. The times of day that you practice will effect the outcome. Also having gone wrong in this aspect previously, be careful that the practices you are using are compatible with each other. Wish i time to write more, but i'm at work and the phones are blowing up!! Hope this was of some use to you. All the best with your practice.

Grand Master Wang Liping Ten day Private Intensive
bamboo replied to DragonGateNYC's topic in General Discussion
Lets not turn this into a my master's better than yours scenario. This thread's been deflected off topic quite enough already. The subject of this thread is simply to make practitioners aware that there will be an opportunity to train with a very high level master in an authentic lineage. If you Choose to act upon this invite, here's what you will learn for sure. Three immortal exercises: Yin xian fa - the methods to repair leakage, build the foundation and return to the source. Dual cultivation of essence and life. Ping heng gong - equilibrium exercises. Using different moving practices and zhan zhuang to refine the connections between man and the universe, these are methods to cultivate the abilities to take in external qi for internal use, and internal qi for external use such as healing. Shuigong - laying down exercise for balancing the yin yang energys of the body, increasing qi flow, and exchanging energy with the environment. Supplementary practice - Ziran huanqi fa - natural energy absorption/circulation method. Walking exercise. Master Wang tailors each retreat to the ability of those that show up. There are usually extra exercises taught, but those mentioned above are sure to be covered. -
Grand Master Wang Liping Ten day Private Intensive
bamboo replied to DragonGateNYC's topic in General Discussion
I see this is fast degenerating into an off-topic showdown. My threads have a funny habit of being hijacked too, so i'm on familiar teritory All you people doubting the authenticity of Opening the Dragons Gate, or the credentials of Master Wang himself, need to realize that scepticism is kinda a double edged sword. I was lucky enough to attend the April 2011 intensive with Master Wang, so i've experianced first hand some of what is recounted in the book. The Longmen pai has equilibrium exercises for exchanging energy with the trees, sun, moon and stars. Methods of naturally absorbing and circulating energy while walking. A very powerful sitting meditation exercise for dual cultivation of essence and life. Five element exercises for gathering internal and external medicine/elixer and building the Dan in the lower field. Shuigong/sleeping practices. Methods for opening and training the celestial/third eye, not to mention kick starting the MCO. The list goes on. This is just a fraction of the practices Grandmaster has in his arsenal. If you want to see one of the few authentic internal alchemy lineages in action, then i suggest you pack a bag and head out in August, you won't regret it. -
Quiet sitting, clear up the mind. Make awareness undivided.

Hi, If there's any Longmeen Pai practitioners in London [uK] please drop me a pm. The practice is a bit more powerful in a group so we would all be getting a bit of a boost. Or maybe you guys already have a group going. In either case please get in touch. Best, -Bamboo

Any Tips or Ideas on how to rebalance myself?( apart from chakra balancing music)
bamboo replied to Josama's topic in General Discussion
Grounding/Earthing will do the job. You can also get gounding mats so you can use this technique inside. In terms of your practice unbalancing you. It's my understanding in yoga they work on the chakras in order from low to high, opening and balancing them in sequence. You can't make plans to live in the penthouse before you even dig the foundations -
thanx for all the good information. So EMF's [classifyed by the EPA as a class 3 carcinogen] disrupt cell to cell comunications, nueron firing processes, and brain wave patterns altering behavioural patterns, but would the size and strength of our own energy field be able to mitigate the effects that an EMF has on us? Here's an interesting video about earthing with Dr Mercola, looks like they've only just realized that we are almost totally isolated from contact with the real ground

Damn!!! Jenny posted that question i asked her on the Q&A page

I think what you're describing is covered by William Bodri here, you're making good progress by the sounds of it http://www.meditationexpert.com/comparative-religion/c_Song_of_Songs.html

Hey, I just found this information about the 24 solar terms: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Laozi-Academy/267557887607 'A solar term is any of 24 points in traditional East Asian lunisolar calendars that matches a particular astronomical event or signifies some natural phenomenon. In Taoism health cultivation system, it is very important to follow the seasonal changes to adjust your practice. We would like to share with you the solar term practice Practicing in the 24 points of solar term on a year, you will find the myth of the universe. Practice with the intersection of heaven and earth magnetic field and energy, in the "secret points" of the day / the month /the year, you will gain multiplier of the miraculous. Solar term occurs twice a month, you can choose the time to practice, but if the meditation practices are done before and after half hour around the points of solar terms, practicing at least half hour each time, it would have greatly improved you physically and mentally.' Whoever wrote this there English wasn't great, but i think you get the idea, that practicing at these times will yield greater results due to subtle universal forces at work. Personally I'm gonna give it a shot this Sunday, see what comes out of it. If it's good enough for the daoist.... Here are the 24 solar terms: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solar_term#List_of_solar_terms We've got the vernal equinox coming up in a couple of days, this chart gives you the exact time of the event. I think it's best to practice around this time, to magnify those benefits. The times are in GMT, so be sure to convert them to wherever you are. If anyone knows the times of the other 20 solar terms please drop em in below. http://www.timeanddate.com/calendar/seasons.html I hope this speeds all of your practice along to your intended goal! Best

So it turns out my calculations for the solar terms were a bit basic and inaccurate. I emailed a chinese friend of mine to check my times, and she sent me the correct ones so here they are. Your next sessions are: April 5th - 04:11:59 April 20th - 11:17:27 may 6th - 21:23:14 may 21st - 10:21:11 june 6th - 01:27:21 june 21st - 18:16:30 These times come complete with seconds too. All times are GMT/UK time please adjust for wherever you are. Anjali

Hi there, i found out about this practice over at Laozi academy, and i'm interested to try it out. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Laozi-Academy/267557887607 It seems you have to practice around the exact hout of these solar terms, like yesterdays vernal equinox was 23:21 [gmt], but only four of these get any press in the west http://www.timeanddate.com/calendar/seasons.html Would anyone be so kind as to list the date and time of the 24 solar terms for this year, once i got it for this year i can figure following years out. Many thanx

I shamefully fell asleep yesterday 3 hours before the vernal equinox , so i missed my chance to try out this practice. I did feel the energy very strongly meditating before i fell asleep though. Okay, so using some long winded calculations i have managed to figure out the times of the other solar terms. These are the times of the next sessions coming up: April 5th - 10:20 [clear and bright/qingming] April 20th - 21:19 [grain rain/guyu] May 6th - 08:18 [start of summer/lixia] May 21st - 19:18 [grain full/xiaoman] June 6th - 06:17 [grain in ear/mangzhong] June 21st - 17:16 [summer solstice/xiazhi] These times are in [GMT/UK] so please adjust for wherever you are. Audio it's an exercise in the tibetan vajrayana tradition called Trul khor. It hasn't been pulled from youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KG6w036k8u4 But it's not advisable to try and learn this from anyone but a qualified master. Don't try and follow along with the video, you'll cause yourself problems.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irony I was feeling particularly childish and silly when i posted after Houtian. Wish i hadn't bothered. Let's just drop it dude.

Hey Pee Pole, Found a site of a student of Grandmaster Wang Liping in Italy. He looks like the real deal, and the testamonials are a shining resume of his extraordinary energy mastery. Interesting information on his site about the foundational practices of the Dragon Gate school. http://www.traditionaltao.com/index.html/html/site-section/ID/1 Anyone trained with David?

Hi Ken, no disrespect to nyc dragon gate, i just think it's a little expensive for me. If i may, i would like to enquire as to what you actually learn at one of these 10 day intensives. To get an idea whether it's worth making my bank account very upset with me. It seems odd to me that the movement exercises are optional, but you do sitting mostly. I read a blog on the net by someone who went to an intensive with David Shen. He said they began sitting practice, and Grandmaster used a technique called ye li [or something like that], which forced the chi down into the legs to open all the channels of all the people sitting. He said it was excruciating, and the best you could hope for was that your legs went numb. It felt like your meridians where going to burst and splatter the people next to you Is that what your sitting practice was? I thought that maybe you would have been taught some kind of foundational moving exercise that you practice daily, between intensives, to help you progress.
