Converting to Taoism is the only solution to save the planet? Give me a break Taoism is one of the most fractured paths or religions around, most of us can barely agree on what Taoism even is. Liu I-Ming is considered one of the most influential historical Taoists and he says much of what people consider as Taoist methods and paths are a complete waste of time, so all I can see is factional conflict and arguments about interpretation if everyone converted to Taoism.

The Tibetans tried to use their powers, I read one account where they tried to send the Chinese "Tantra Bombs" as they invaded but none of it worked or did anything. Most of those sorts of powers only work when the recipient is open or at least has their guard down, when people are closed the only thing that is powerful enough to penetrate is Boddhicitta but against an army that isn't much use, in the short term anyway.

Death is a on a different level from the transition from waking to sleep or from the in and out breath because in death you don't know if you will ever see your parents, partner, children or loved ones ever again and you may never have to opportunity to say or fix anything left to do on the earth, as well as facing up to the extreme terrors of the actual process. Whereas experience has shown us that those anxieties do not really exist that acutely in the normal waking transition of states or in the transition in meditation states, so you can train and study all you like with those states but death is a whole different level of transition one which we wont know if we are capable of going through smoothly until we have done it, unless we have given up all attachments but I am yet to meet anyone who doesn't have at least some heart attachments to the earth.

Do you use precious gems for meditation or opening chakras?

From my shamanic work I learned that if you want to work with stones you should purify them first especially if someone else has used them or touched them otherwise you can get some of their intent mixed up with your own. For example I learned how to use a stone as an anger stone and was told that if someone else touched it they could get put in a bad mood or at worst get ill, so if you get an ancient stone used for ceremonies who knows what it contains. To purify I was told you need to bury them in the ground for a few days then put them in the moonlight for a night, there are other ways using salt too. -
OK Seriously Where To Get KUNLUN BOOK?

I had similar experiences to you Creation with Michaels system so don't think that it is just you, although I didn't get the side effects that I did with Kunlun so Rainbow Vain is right in that regard in my experience it is smoother, but I did come up against resistance which I didn't think was just a matter of persisting through. I have learned now to try to listen to my body when it is trying to tell me not to do something. I agree for some of us no system will be a smooth ride because energetics confront our tensions and our tensions are there as defences and our defences can only come down at the right time so trying to bash through them like a sledgehammer can just make things worse and bring out bad side effects, which is why I think the softer the system the better and more powerful it actually is. -

I agree somewhat with what you are saying but for many people going to meet your shadow should be done gently and with support and guidance or you may fall into despair and turn back or worse go insane, so throwing yourself in the deep end and diving right into it alone is not advisable for a lot of people, which is probably why this technique was kept secret. -
How does Bagua influence your emotions? Can it help integrate your emotional body and help you open up and face hidden emotions? One of my fears about doing any martial approach is that it that it will make me hard rather than soft, as I think the real core strength is if it makes you softer and more open rather than tougher and more rigid. I have heard mentioned by Bruce Frantzis that there is fighting Bagua and there is spiritual Bagua I wonder if both have the same outcome and what their differences are, does anyone know?

Nice post, congrats on your recovery. I didn't know Bagua had those sorts of healing capabilities I thought it was more martial, I might check it out.

From an outside perspective I think a big problem with the political culture of the US is that it is still too heavily influenced by outdated Cold War anti communist propaganda, in that you often hear people use the term socialist as an insult and many progressive moves are shot down as being communist like it's the worst insult you can throw at someone, whereas if you look at some European states a little bit of socialism alongside the free market goes a long way to improving overall quality of life and happiness for everyone within countries. So I think those guys in wall street are doing a good job at sending a message but I don't expect attitudes to change until a new generation of politician takes over who didn't grow up during the time of anti Soviet propaganda was brainwashing everyones views on things.

Is that a global revolution involving the whole globe in the same way that the World Series involves the whole world?

Yeah I agree many other paths may have Buddha nature and may not contradict, but by taking refuge you stake your full faith and confidence on the lineage coming from the Buddha as being all you need, so you can respect other paths but you shouldn't feel the need of any of their teachings if you really meant your vows.
-
Once you have taken refuge in the Buddha and sworn your oath do you feel bad if you ever study and practice other teachings non Buddhist? like you are cheating on your wife or something like that. To me the oath is quite serious in that on the literal level you are declaring Buddha as your main teacher, I study a lot of Dharma but I am still on the fence at the moment and not ready to take refuge as I study a few other paths too and am not ready to commit to Buddha 100% yet, one day I get the feeling I will have to commit one way or the other though.

I have not seen any master who can show their energetic power on someone who isn't open and receptive to them, so at least Max is honest about that. All the videos I have seen when a master tries to use their energetic power on someone who is resistant either nothing happens or in a fight situation they end up being punched in the mouth. -
OK Seriously Where To Get KUNLUN BOOK?

I wonder if they eventually decided it was too dangerous to be in the public domain without the guidance of a teacher, because when I tried it I got some weird side effects like waking up at exactly the same time every night and having nightmares about death, other people too had issues. So I decided it was too powerful for me at the moment and could see why it had been kept secret. I could probably get hold of the book but im not sure i'd want to send it out if it's been purposely withdrawn. -
Follow everyone elses advice but if none of that works then as a last resort go to Peru to see an Ayahuascero who will take out whatever is in your body.

I am similar in that I have a problem with strong expression and stuttering, there are some good techniques in the film "The Kings Speech" But apart from that I am trying to work through as much tension in my face, neck and jaw as possible to free up my muscles around that area which I hope will free up my expression

True Love can only exist without Lust (For Enlightenment)
Jetsun replied to tulku's topic in General Discussion
Love can also be a wish, prayer or intent for the welfare of all other people, which is a universal love which radiates indiscriminately like light radiates from a bulb, it touches all who come into contact with it no matter who or what they are. This is a non restrictive love or Bodhicitta which is liberating not binding. -
Which nostril is dominant is down to a natural cycle which changes about every 40 minutes I think if I remember correctly.

OK Seriously Where To Get KUNLUN BOOK?

Does anyone know whether the book has been taken out of the public domain on purpose ? -
I have tried a lot of practises but personally I find the most helpful and practical thing is just to keep reminding myself of a thing the Dalai Lama keeps repeating that all people do everything they do because they want to be happy and avoid suffering. I wondered why the Dalai Lama repeated this basic concept so much but when you meditate on it over some time it becomes quite a deep statement in that it transcends good and evil, highlights the essential decent nature of the mind, opens the door to forgiveness of yourself and others and gives you a means to connect with compassion to everyone on the planet.

Maybe the present moment is perfect as it is and things will change naturally and balance out naturally when we gain full acceptance in the moment, perhaps gaining acceptance in the moment will result in us dropping our non productive intentions and maybe it is our minds tendency to always try to improve on things and create better circumstances for it which creates the biggest barrier to this natural process unfolding. Some teachers I study stress the importance of observation and awareness without any interference in the process, while others say you need to sow the good seeds and use your intent to create more productive circumstances and start to dream a better dream for your life. I am still trying to work all of this out as you can probably tell, but a lot of my previous practice which tried to actively improve things often left me feeling like a fish caught in a net thrashing around trying to escape rather than accept where I am .
-
I do accept what you are saying but this is where my mind ties itself up in knots, because if you are practising to change where you are at you are not accepting so you are denying reality as your mind is in the future rather than in the present moment. Yet there seems a need for practice and acceptance even though they seem to contradict each other.
-
Yes I still get caught up in self pity quite a lot, essentially I think it stems from thinking things should be different than they are, that I don't deserve to be in the place I am at and deserve better, but what I am starting to see is that many of these states like self pity and self importance are simply not helpful or useful in any way whatsoever so I might as well not waste my energy with them, even if I don't deserve to suffer and dont deserve the life i have there is no use struggling against it. Also those states are a form of denial of reality as your mind is off where you think you "should" be and mourning about not being there rather than being where you actually are. Im starting to see how a belief on karma helps to nullify these states, pity I don't really believe in it. Like you say Marblehead accepting where you are at is so important yet seemingly so hard to do a lot of the time at least for me.
