  1. What are empowerments?

I think Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche collected just about every single empowerment from every lineage in Tibet when he was alive, so if you can get an empowerment from one of his students then you get them all at once, so you get the entire spiritual history of Tibet downloaded into your brain in one go instead of having to go to Lama to Lama for the rest of your life (it probably doesn't work like that but it would be nice)
  2. What are empowerments?

In India there is a professional Guru circuit who lure in gullible wealthy Westerners, but they aren't all fake and there are some diamonds. The Buddha in one of his sutra's spelled out what to look for in a realised teacher, I don't remember all of the signs he said but some of them were things like indefatigability and unbiassed compassion, so you can look at how a teacher conducts their life to see if you can see those sorts of signs because not that many do; some examples of those who do are Sri Mata Amritandamayi Devi (Amma) and the late Dilgo Khentse Rinpoche and the current Dalai Lama. Edit; but yeah in terms of charging a lot I understand your point, it doesn't demonstrate compassion to charge a lot for mass teachings. In the examples I gave Amma's Darshan is free and the Dalai Lama doesn't charge excessively for his empowerments.
  3. If this is the same Jax as Dharma Wheel then: http://www.dharmawheel.net/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=7436&sid=41787a102a88e3529fcb02e247d47152 "I have been a student of Dzogchen since 1978. Norbu transmitted the Semde, Longde and mangagde teachings to me several times along with Yang-Ti. I also received Yeshe Lama transmissions from a Lama of Dudjum Rinpoche lineage for thogal in 1985. I received pith Ati instructions from Lama Wangdor in the 80's. I received Bon transmissions for Heart Drops of Dharmakaya from Lopon 4 years ago, for trekchod and . I have received many tantric teachings and empowerments for Mahamudra, gTumo from both Nyingma and Kagyu teachers including Trungpa, Kalu and Kyabchab Rinpoche's and Sabchyu Rinpoche in Nepal."
  4. I watched the first video and thought it was pretty good, thanks. It is hard to tell if the words have been fully embodied from a video though, I will continue to watch to see what I sense.
  5. If you can't get personal instruction I would do Spring Forest, there are fewer issues and it is potentially better for your health than Chia, it is one of the best easily available systems out there in my opinion. If you can get personal instruction get that, Stillness Movement isn't complete without going to a seminar and receiving a transmission in person. Edit: so much depends on your intentions and what you want to get out of it so if you could speak a bit more about that it would help
  6. Illogical Intuitive Confusion

That's why intuition isn't very clear in the majority of people, even spiritual people who feel it more intensely, because it is mixed up with all the issues and confusions of the personality unless a great deal of purification has occurred the signals get confused and projection of personal story can occur onto what you intuit.
  7. Mingur Rinpoche before and after

There are more pics and a letter he wrote here http://learning.tergar.org/2014/01/17/new-photos-and-letter-from-mingyur-rinpoche-on-retreat/ This is part of the letter he left: "All the thoughts, destructive emotions, and suffering we encounter are, in essence, completely permeated by vast compassion. As a sign of this, we naturally wish to enjoy happiness and to be free of suffering. While all beings have great wisdom and compassion, this is not always apparent. This is simply because they have not recognized what they already have. Thus, aside from merely recognizing our own true nature, there isn’t the slightest thing to meditate on. Recognizing the importance of this, I have passed my days feeling joyful and content, wandering through the mountains and valleys and staying here and there. From my heart, I sincerely encourage all of you to practice diligently in this manner as well".
  8. how to stop fighting your subconscious ?

I think you are learning a lot of very valuable lessons, basically most of that positive psychology stuff is a load of BS because to exclude negative thoughts just feeds them energy, I know that sort of psychology is popular but most of the world is delluded and in an egoic state where they think they are already in control of their minds, so that sort of thinking just feeds the delusion which is why it is popular. What can you do? Investigate into the nature of your thoughts, a thought only has any power over you if you believe it to be true, to unbelieve generally isn't as easy as just chosing to, rather what is required is an investigation into the truth of its nature, which can be done through some meditation practices or the method of Byron Katie is good.
  9. For The Benefit Of All Beings

How is Tonglen already occurring once the non-dual is realised?
  10. For The Benefit Of All Beings

But how does that relate to the practice of Tonglen, where you take suffering on of other beings and give your happiness to other beings? In non-duality there are no other beings.
  11. What you describe is a state they call Depersonalization or Derealization Disorder, there are hundreds of people with the same condition as you who go on to recover, some of them triggered by meditation. I had it myself for a while where I felt I had no emotions. Most therapists wont have heard of it unless you tell them what it is and it is difficult for people to even imagine what it is like to have no emotions yet still be alive, I heard the story many times where the patient has to inform the therapist what it is, but there are some experts on the condition. Don't give up just about everyone recovers
  12. For The Benefit Of All Beings

I thought it was interesting about what he said about Tonglen, in that he did it in the regular way until he met Khenpo Munsel in prison who taught him how to do Tonglen in a non-dual way, I wonder if anyone knows of any further instructions on this because in non-duality there are no other beings so who do you give and take to?
  13. Depersonalization is what I was going to say, I thought I had it for a while and there are books written on the condition and websites full of people with similar symptoms, I was a long term member of one which was why I was hesitant on saying it might be that because basically after reading the stories of probably hundreds of people with similar symptoms it was clear that the common pattern for those who recover was that they just got on with the rest of their lives and stopped obsessing about their symptoms and accepted it, then one day a few months down the line they realised their symptoms were gone. The other route many took was to search really hard for cures and try lots of meds and see different docs which just fed the underlying anxiety and kept the symptoms alive.
  14. I have heard of others who have had similar experiences,I could tell you what some psychologists would call your state, but I am hesitant as I am not sure a label will help as it opens up a rabbit hole of things like meds and supposed "experts" talking about it which might just complicate things. Do you want the psych label?
  15. Cultivation of Inner heart nature

If a man is inherently pure and sacred he doesn't need to strain the will power and have a determined heart to become sacred.
  16. Not all of them, some of them try to find out what the self is before they try to change or improve it.
  17. The whole concept that at some time in the future you will be a higher level better version of you is a bit hard on your current self esteem don't you think? I think that belief is only going to add to your suffering.
  18. I used to practice many energetic systems and methods at once, I realise now the main reason for doing so was anxiety, in that I was doing all I could to try improve and fix myself. I agree it can be dangerous to do so if they are energetic practices, or at least you may counter the benefit of one with another. Another issue I came across is that it is impossible to tell which practice is beneficial if you mix them up. But if you differentiate the areas of practice mixing can be ok, for example you could do Buddhist meditation for your mind, Taoist Qigong for your health and energy, Christianity for the way you conduct your social life, without problems.
  19. Christian Mysticism

I have read some of the books about Daskalos and the Researchers of Truth and I agree it is some of the most in depth teachings I have found, surprisingly so. I have tried some of the meditations and short term they have a powerful effect, but I haven't done any long term to testify to their benefit over a long period of time. What I would be really interested in is whether any of the Researchers of Truth have managed to reproduce the development of Daskalos or develop healing abilities anywhere near his level, because the explanations and teachings are very good but I would like to see examples of the fruit of long term practice of that system for the average disciple.
  20. What sort of Qigong do you do 4bsolute?
  21. I have met two different people now who went to see Mother Meera for a blessing and both say that they were deeply impacted by the experience, one of whom said that it was a catalyst to completely change his life where he began to train as a psychotherapist to try to serve and help humanity, and the other says that she believes that she is a divine being. Mother Meera travels for much of the year and gives darshan for free where you simply look into her eyes for a short time, this is an explanation of how it works: Question: When we have your darshan we do pranam (bow down) in front of you and you take our heads between your hands, what are you doing? Mother Meera: On the back of the human being is a white line that runs from the toes to the head. In fact, two lines start from the toes, rise along the legs, join at the base of the spine and then become a single line reaching to the top of the head. This line is thinner than a hair, and has some knots in it here and there, which divine personalities help to undo. It is very delicate work and great care has to be taken to undo the knots, as there is danger for your life if the thread is broken. When I hold your head I am untying these knots. I am also removing other obstacles to your sadhana, practice. Question: When we have done pranam, we look into your eyes in silence (darshan). What are you doing? Mother Meera: I am looking into every corner of your being. I am looking at everything within you to see where I can help, where I can give healing and power. At the same time, I am giving Light to every part of your being. I am opening every part of yourself to Light. When you are open you will feel and see this clearly. I am thinking of going to see her at some point, has anyone here been to her darshan and willing to share their experiences?
  22. I have heard from a different lineage that spontaneous movements can come by tension being released from the nervous system, which could be emotional energy or trauma or anything held in the body, then when there is real deep relaxation the energy is finally allowed to move out which can move the body in release naturally when the holding is relaxed. Whereas my understanding of Stillness Movement is that the movement is a lot to do with the lighting of the dan tien
