My understanding is that Taoism doesn't much concern itself with what created the universe, it's concerned primarily with what's going on IN the universe, and how a deeper understanding of our place in it can bring freedom, happiness and enlightenment. Empty yourself, and the universe will fill you with all kinds of goodness! I don't know if that's incompatible with Catholicism or not, but on the surface it doesn't seem to be. Welcome! I'm new here too.

Hi, I'm from Montreal, Quebec, Canada. I joined this forum because Taoism has helped me deal with life in a more productive way, and I'd like for it to continue doing so. I'm not very far along my "way", I'm still having trouble letting go of comparaisons but I'd like to continue learning and this place seems like a good one to compare notes with other people of a similar mind.
