Can anyone make a non-believer here feel their chi?
thetaoiseasy replied to AstralProjectee's topic in General Discussion
i've been at this for awhile. Being able to affect a non-chi believer is very high level. Takes years upon years of practice, despite what anyone says. Most people can't even circulate chi in their own meridians, let alone affect other people. You have to be able to produce a type of light and luminous energy before the average joe can sense your qi. So...i say, work on your practice. But don't bother convincing people, because its going to take a long time. -
how important is "semen retention" in your practice?
thetaoiseasy replied to resonant111's topic in General Discussion
So let's assume number 2. The answer is so simple. Follow your natural sex cycle. That is, release (masturbate, sex, whatever) when your lower centers are neturally full -- aka when you get a spontaneous erection at night or in the morning, or when you just feel congested. If you release when you're naturally full, you're body doesn't take such a strong hit. This means no artificial and deliberate visual and auditory stimulation like porn -- you have to dump that shit in the trash. This also means no fiddling around in the shower or in your room just because you are "bored." This means avoiding too much ejaculation when you're feeling sick or worn out. So the solution is right in front of you. But people always want to do something special like clenching their anal muscles and fists while rolling their eyeballs to the ceiling. Those practices are for old men who already depleted themselves. You are still young. Just prepare for a long life and live naturally, for now. You'll find that by living more naturally you're desires will also temper. Read some good books like the Tao Te Ching. Do the exercise that I suggested in the other thread with the wings flapping. And if you feel like your mind is feeding unnatural desires to your body, place your palms together like you're praying in front of your chest. And gently concentrate at the point between your two nipples for a few minutes. The negative feeling will pass. Masturbation isn't the end of the world, nor a sin. But not respecting your personal energetic cycles will always be a problem. -

I catch your drift. You like things to be sorted out in a cut and dry method, and you're struggling to get a clear cut answer. So I'll help you out. Answer me this. What are your goals? Which one is closer to your wishes? 1. full out energetic and spiritual practice? 2. energetic practices, but not full out. I still want to enjoy life, so to speak. 3. i just want to be normal and healthy. 4. I really don't care. Just want to live life. -

It has no advantages in the world, I'm sorry. It is, in fact, a major disadvantage. It will not allow your accomplish anything more effectively in the worldly sphere -- it might even cripple you. It's not something that will build up your resume. You basically become an idiot. I think this is the type of response you are looking for, right? That's what I honestly believe, too. -

Hey Aaron, where did you get your definition of wu wei in the first place? Just curious.
-
I think I'm not reading your intentions right, so I'm going to sit tight and just read other peoples responses. But for the record, I do equate "do what needs to be done" with "action without effort" as well as frugrality in one's actions. Sorry for the hijack!
-
Sure, for the sages, Wu-wei is easy and requires no discipline. They know better. But for the average man in his ignorance, it takes one thousand years to learn how to do. It takes discipline to learn how to do stuff the easy way -- so in that sense, it's hard. If you are studying for an important exam, what's the most logical way to go about it? To split it into parts, to study a little everyday. If you are on a workout regimen, the best way to go about it is to be consistent and put in a little time everyday. By the test day, you are prepared and don't need to cram. By the end of three months, with a solid 2 hours each day of exercise, you achieved your goals. Yet how many of us can do that? Very few. Why? That is the discipline of Wu-Wei. What do most people do? They study 10 hours one day, and then they slack off the entire week because they are burnt out. They work out for 3 hours one day, and they are too sore to exercise the entire week. Which description speaks to discipline? The first method of breaking thing downs into pieces, or second--the crash and burn method? I'd say the first is closer to wu-wei and definitely requires discipline. So I agree with your counterpoint. The first method is easy in the sense that you don't overexert yourself and you do a little everyday to reach your goals in a efficient way. But hard in the sense that...how many people listen and can follow the sage's advice? The sages know Wu-wei is easier and anti-discipline, like you said. But for the average person, they must discipline themselves to take the easier path. People love the hard way! Okay, I won't post anymore. Sorry for the hijack, Aaron! : /

My apologies. Before I post, what definition of Wu-Wei are looking for in the Tao Te Ching that you are skeptical it contains? I gave my interpretation based on my readings of the Tao Te Ching; I can cite those passages, but I'm not sure if that's what you're getting at.
-
Here's my interpretation. I read both the chinese and english version. Wu wei does not mean doing nothing. It means doing nothing extra. It means always hitting the mark. Contrary to the implication of doing "nothing," achieving this perfect balance of wu-wei is not easy and requires discipline: its like carrying a bucket of water on your head in the dark. The reason the Tao Te Ching seems to emphasize a more passive approach--which is often construed as being lazy and undisciplined--is that the tendency of the world is to do too much, to overexert oneself. Recognizing this trend, Lao Tze sought to correct the extremist tendencies that he saw at the time. He reminds us that we don't need that much effort to be efficacious in life. In fact, extreme effort should be avoided, as extreme effort will always lead to extreme inertia. So doing just enough everyday, living out our normal lives with responsibility, is sufficient to achieve great things. A thousand mile journey begins on the land you walk on. Note that you still have to walk, but you just take the first step, and split the journey in many steps. You walk just enough everyday to reach your goals. In other words, do what needs to be done--but nothing more--is the true spirit of wu-wei. Sometimes it will mean sitting on your ass and "going with the flow" as the bastardized western interpretation. Sometimes it means working hard to achieve your goals. Both are valid, but neither should be taken as the rule. Furthermore, the Tao Te Ching teaches us how to approach meditation with "Wu Wei". Lao Tze tells us that if the king does not interfere with the kingdom, the kingdom will thrive. What does he mean on a deeper level? The mind is the king, the body is the kingdom. When we stop coming with miraculous ways to manipulate health--as modern science is trying to do--our body can and will function well. When we are still in our meditation--when our mind stops machinating the future--qi begins to move naturally throughout our meridians, and our body is benefited thousand fold. This not a matter of detachment, but a matter of efficacy.

Keep learning from you tortoise. : ) They are very wise animals. I personally think you already have a nice energy about you. You don't need a master if you are honest to yourself, around nature, and seek a pure and sincere life. I've had many masters before. But the truth is: masters can only teach you at your level, anyhow. What I mean is your progress is still up to you and your sincerity. That is, you are one who determines the speed of your evolution. And ironically, the more you strive, the longer it will take. The best way to speed your evolution is not some secret mantra or internal alchemy. It is living a pure life, removing all the habits and thoughts you don't need. It's not living as a monastic, or eating on vegetables, or escaping the world. It just means retaining your simply human dignity and nobility--that good feeling-- in your heart, no matter the circumstance, no matter where you are. Good luck! Good luck!

to be honest, if you want to get "it" back, start having a lot of sex and masturbate a lot. definitely don't retain. our bodies are energy fields. how you arrange your energy fields determines your destiny. the basic mechanics of your energy field is this. Your energy starts at the abdomen, rises to the heart, and then goes to the head. The analogy is that the abdomen is the earth, the heart the human sphere, and the head is the heavens. the abdomen corresponds to your sexual energy, the heart the emotional center, and the head corresponds to spirituality. and honestly, from i gather, you want to live in the earth and less as a human and even less as a spiritually aware person. that's your choice. most people live like this anyhow. but it's quite easy to do. read on. here's your highway to hell. there is a saying in chinese medicine. when your sexual energy is full, you don't want to have sex. sounds paradoxical right? well, it works like this. when your sexual energy in the abdomen is full--that is, when you don't have a lot of sex-- energy builds up in the abdomen and eventually spills over into higher energy centers. as there is more energy in the higher centers, you don't want to have sex. you'll focus on your emotional and spiritual health. there is another saying chinese medicine. the more you have sex, the more you want it. well, what happens when you have a lot of sex is that your energy is constantly being depleted. so your energy never gets to build up in the other higher centers. the energy remains in the abdomen, at best. result? you want sex all the time, because your energy is so low. you'll also want to eat all the time. conclusion? have a lot of sex. eat more meat. exercise less. don't let any energy build up to spill into the higher centers. you'll live a hellish life, but each to their own. the fact is, the secret of tao is this. you are what you do. want to be a sexual giant? you know what to do. but remember. resources are never unlimited.

Drop all Mantras (Even that one), Do nothing (not even doing nothing)
thetaoiseasy replied to skydog's topic in General Discussion
Osho's energy is extremely disturbed. Ask anyone proficient in reading energy, and ask them what they see in osho. His energy starts from the crown and drops down to the perineum. He once had some spiritual power, but he fell down to earth extremely quickly. I haven't seen this type of low and hellish energy in awhile. Read his stuff if you want. It's your choice. But don't say anyone didn't warn you. -
