Oooooh now i get it, itās here! I just assumed you lucky bastards were geographically close and that Ilu actually either ran or owned a physical spot called The Quiet Corner. Well that changes everything. Iāll be dropping in sometime in the early or late hours. Pardon me for the mixup. edit: @wandelaar we seem to have had the same problem eh? -

Jim D uses poor quality lube, forcefully inserts self into JESUS, is now BIG BROTHER

This made me snort-laugh so hard i spat on my screen! Itās one thing when a certain type of dudes start to high-post and throw up degrees and credentials like some sort of gang signs, but iāve never seen a bonafide sucka try to play this. How do i know youāre a bonafide sucka? Because you just spent multiple posts over pages (plural!!) reinforcing your brand as a petty, insecure, whiny dick my son, thats how. You trash and poorly bait highly esteemable people who indulge you like you would someone elses noisy puppy on the train. Meanwhile going about thoroughly playing yourself in a completely public setting and trying to be all suave and coy.- 142 replies

Theophany isnāt uncommon in daoist arts origin and legends and whatever one might think about it its fairly safe to say that at least in the ordained orthodox officiancy lots and lots upon lots more hours go into training, studying and developing the skills and knowledge required, divine source or not. I donāt know the guy and cant say if his theophany is a convenient device to duck claims of wrongful teaching while also being a pretty nifty sales pitch or if it actually took place and he was blessed with such powers as he says. Say its true, what might his divine patron and fountainhead of knowledge think about his public demeanor, evident skill-level and attitude? Iād be pretty nervous about botching or making my divine power and art appear as lacking in the eyes of that divinity i have such a close bond with. To each their own, i certainly hope he is right and correct in all things for his sake and his students at least. What do i know anyway?

Thats his greatest effort in learning his greatest skill: to appear as if his material is legit. I can say with emphasis that at least his kung fu and martial arts are complete hogwash. And theyāre easy to gain proficiency in compared to being a daoist expert in those high level arts he teaches. He really makes me want to pinch his nose and tell him to grow up.

Iāve met a few masters of self these last decades and you know what the funny thing was? At least most of them where just themselves and both rejoiced in the good of thing and shook their head in disbelief at the cruelty of men. I have a good friend of mine who often reminds me of Ibd Fadhlan, heās a warrior scholar of south persian descent who tries to maintain his composure among the vikings of Thule. Sometimes he talks about the hidden war where humanity is being herded into stepping away from the sagely ways and paths, our nature perverted and our hearts twisted and made jealous. I often remind him pf when Moses, prophet of the lord and exhaulted in his wisdom, got a chance to hang out with Khidr but blew it because he was too quick to judge, which impeded his heart from truly hearing what was happening. I think youād like it.

Well iām seven kinds of thick throated and teared up now from reading you guys on this. Thereās some of you on here that i do hope i will have the opportunity to hug in real life and its painful to realize it as a visceral longing just because one of them had the nerve to go die on us. I still miss him, the old grouchy bundle of wisdom. The Marblehead-shaped hole in this world is still a beautiful place to visit, a monument even. Like something else it has no form or location, it is not something or somewhere, and yet... we meet there. Odd isnāt it? I came here some nine years ago, way back enough to feel ancient even, and cant say i remember exactly when we first came into contact but i do remember noticing two things: he already had a/some version of his anarchist signature and oh how i rejoiced in that, took an instant shine to him for planting his foundation clearly as the ground upon which his words stood as well for his tone. Check this out: How badass and on point can one be? Even back then it carried a glint in the eye together with a dead-serious litteral truth. Thats how he reads to me. In these eyes of mine, Jim (still struggling with that) had a certain vibe of pulling our legs while simultaneously giving excellent advice and/or teaching by example. Well, goddamn it Marbs here it is. Again, for the i-donāt-know-how-manyeth time this last year, iām grieving your death and missing you with laughs and tears. I so much figure youāre out there somewhere enjoying, hanging out, poking pun-fun at some haughty goodhood or butting heads with dragons on matters of staunch materialism. Because who says itās not materialist to be an immortal? Anyhow, this was just about to turn into some hagiography and sentimental drivel so lemme compose myself, imbibe a libation of beer and one of rhum. On sunday i will invite Great Heavenly Lord Guan for a humble offering in your name and until then be about my earthly business. Hereās to you Marbs, hereās to you my good friends far away but close by virtue of here, hereās to the rest of you Bums - one and all - for Blessings, Happiness and Longevity. Outtie 5k - PEACE -
Yo Starman! Hmmm, that is indeed a horrible background noise. Iāll swing by the lab during the week and see what i can make of it. Quickest āmight do the trickā-fix is probably to see if your editing software has an equalizer that can turn down very narrow frequency bands. Shure makes good stuff, but iāve never tried direct-usb-to-computer interface microphones tbh, lemme check!

Well, mr Grylls has made a name for himself by drinking it and there is some success in his life... Iirc fresh urine is sterile and contains both waste and nutrients, i donāt think itād be healthy enough to substitute water and proper food with vitamins and stuff but i guess itās a source of hydration. Idk if dog pee is anything like human pee and if there are benefits to drinking someone elses pee compared to your own. Doesnt urine have a very high factor for conductivity? As a mixture of minerals and salts and stuff it has a lot of unexpected uses as a reactant. Thereās the old trick to ease jellyfish burns by drenching it in fresh urine which reportedly is fairly effective but not on par with other solutions containing ammonia in higher concentration or purer form (pardon my ineaxctness here, iām just trying to dredge up info from the cobwebbed alleys of my mind). It has moderate strenght as an oxidizing agent on copper and brass if iām not mistaken. For those knowledgeable in such matters to answer: isnāt urine charged with or somehow carrying turbid yin qi when it exits the body? Perhaps, if it has a strong yin property itās interaction with ghosts who are very yin iirc puts their energy out of balance? Iāve been taught that something that is very yin interacts with more yin it causes the first object to overcharge and reversing it towards yang, at least in the case of a precaution i recieved that menstruating people should not physically touch certain talismans or objects on a daoist altar during the build and peak of their cycle, because such a body is highly charged in the yin spectra (i think) and it would mess with both the energy of the person and the object. No periodbashing on my part, i was told this by a male fung shui master when he installed a particular thing at my house. He also added that nobody except me or my partner should be allowed to touch fung shui remedies just to be sure nothing and nobody gets out of balance. There is the sexual fetishes tied to urine, some people obviously get really excited by fantasizing about and interacting with pee, idk if that by itself says anything of pee having certain āunseenā properties but as has been pointed out already many bodily products seem to be present somehow in occult and magic practices worldwide. Sweat, tears, urine, poop, blood, spit, lubrication, semen, menstruation, snot and whatnot has been mentioned in a number of the sources iāve consulted on witchcraft, magic, talismans and stuff, both in pop culture, historical material and by oral (no puns intended) transmission. Urine, thereās a lot to be said on the topic at least

I still miss him too. Saw a thread resurrected with where heād posted something funny right at the start, for a moment i forgot itās 2019 and lived in the years he was here. Still spontaneously notice a Marblehead-ish proximity every now and then, giving him an extra thought and just knowing things are fine in the end. Thanks for posting this guys, best of wishes and warmth to all. -
Anytime, what works for you is whats going to make it work in the long run. Iām burdened by the joy of fidgeting with sounds wth the equipment i got and the offer stands should you reconsider. That is solution oriented thinking! Iāll do that!

Yup, i listened from my tablet and found it much as you described. Perhaps just some equalization and a reverse compressor on the recording would be enough, but itās impossible to say exactly what without hearing it directly in my speakers and having my stuff at hand to fiddle with it. Agreed!

Video looks good from here, sounds ok, iād perhaps position the mic way closer to you, perhaps even using a dynamic microphone to get more of the voice warmth and less of the reflections from the flat aurfaces which makes it a bit tinny and buzzy in tone. If you happen on a compressor-effect which can be set to āexpandā it will amplify the peak volumes and give little more clarity to your words. I only made jumps and listened to tidbits though because i cant listen to someone just sit around and talk, despite the vista being amazing and you looking pretty good The āspoken videoā just does not work for me as a format, just like i cant bear to listen to podcasts where one ore two people just straight up talk, its like being included while being utterly excluded. Too arduous to follow, too alienating for me not to be there to ask questions and connect, there is no interaction and my brain just rebels after a while. This is my reason for stating: Sorry Starman, i personally really didnāt like it, but its certified good stuff for those gifted with the talent of absorbing from this format. If ever we meet iād listen for hours, rest assured. To be clear: i did catch what sounds like youāre doing some real talk out of your own self and about internal work and cultivation afaik, which is the thing i appreciate besides you reading like a little like Bukowski like @Earl Grey pointed out (nice!) Edit: Not to step out of line because you might know more than enough about this sort of stuff but: Should you want it you can send me just the audio of the clip and i can try to run it some of my sound stuff and i can give you an approximation of what i did so youāll have an idea where to start with the sound next time youāre rendering your materials? Hit me up on the PM if thats interesting.

Daoism as a Practical Philosophy

The thing about the tools is also that each one is different, you cant play just anything the way you want on two different guitars. I play a fairly mean delta blues that has two variations, one for my acoustic and one slightly different for an electric ash-tray style someone built once and i like it. Jack of all tools, master of self might be the person who can find their way almost instantly in unknown territory. Martial arts is not about pulling punches or not, itās about learning how to use and choose appropriately. Boxing is a competitive sport that causes severe injuries and make a nice bed for dementia, parkinsonism and other neurological degradation. All things float except for those that sink and this all depends on the two or more mediums surrounding them as well as the things own properties in relation to the others and vice versa. Stuff does, stuff is. I do like the archery thing. Theres this story in an episode of Mind Body and Kickass Moves where a samurai who is a master warrior and archer gets humbled by an old guy pouring thin threads of oil through a coins center without spilling a drop or dirtying the coin. Its the work that matters and not what it is. But then again its all about what it is and the work is obviously not that big of a deal, itās within anyones grasp.- 182 replies

Daoism as a Practical Philosophy
Rocky Lionmouth replied to Cloudwalking Owl's topic in Daoist Discussion
There is litterally tons of different types of qi according to a few different masters iāve consulted on the subject. Energy or power is qi, then there are many more or less concrete designations of qi such as food qi, wei qi, geographical qi, geological qi, a specific minerals qi, wind qi, feng qi and sui qi and so on and so forth. Some of these types correspond to quantifiable things in empirical science, others refer to certain relations and interactions, yet more others to more theoretical or descriptive things and then there is the esoterics, magics etc. Its a mess to be honest to narrow some of it down.- 182 replies

Daoism as a Practical Philosophy
Rocky Lionmouth replied to Cloudwalking Owl's topic in Daoist Discussion
AH! The individual dao of things is highly important, and it takes hard practice of emptyness and sensitivity to begin to see. The principles of the philosophy are fairly standard ādecent livingā and being pragmatic, and the finesse of it starts where it looks like you did nothing and it sorted itself out. Mobilizing public support in a way as OP mentions isnāt exactly wu wei-ing it as it smacks of āism and schismā style politics, but it is very finessy that such a result can be achieved on a truly bold gamble and that it was in fact the people who were allowed to show the way. But, it was not an action devoid of ulterior motives, rather manipulative imo. Following daoism as a practical philosophy is for me very much as Luke said it. Practice an art and allow its subtler workings go unchallenged, soon osmosis will start to work its wonders. But the importance here is in what can seemlike the tyranny of being surrendered to a master och discipline. Before it can start to develop and grow within the soil must be prepared and few can spontaneously and by their own volition make themselves so empty as to succeed in sprouting these seeds. Time and devotion and hard work is required. Words will never be practical, understanding a practical philosophy lies, imho, in its descriptive title: pratice and practicality. It does sort of imply some deftness and adaptability that is already in place. But daoism as a practical way is also cultivating the yin to manifest the yang, soil to sprouts if you will, so a yang doer will often mislead themselves into idealism and stubborn principle before discovering that reverting to yin and transforming is necessary. Culmination happens before reversion and decay or diminishing is the method... i think at least. Who knows?- 182 replies
