Living Aboard, Close quarters Practice aboard a 30ft boat, aka my home.
FreeTheStig posted a topic in Daoist Discussion
Ahoy, I live aboard a small boat. Part luxury and part austerity, it suits me well. The motion of the ocean is often violent enough to prevent and semblance of physical stillness. That and the space limitation, as there is not enough space to perform a pushup in the gangway, and about an inch over head when standing upright. The weather is often crummy so I practice inside. Deer Excercise, Microcosmic, Standing, and sitting is the extent of my morning, weather permitting. Cramped boat living has its upsides, but results in a stiff uncirculated body. If anyones has a recommendation for a minimalist sequence that can be done stationary, without hands over head, or any wide stance or space consuming movements I am eager to try them out. Thanks, -

When I first bought my Vitamix I made a few awful tasting smoothies and than stuck to recipes till I developed an understanding of what tastes good to me. Now I have a vague formula I follow that is pretty much dictated by what I buy at farmers markets or on sale at the co-op. 60% sweet fruits 10-20% tart citric fruits: The lower range volume wise occurs when I toss in whole limes or lemons. 30-40% Other: Anything from more fruit, nuts, seeds, veggies; like cucumber or sweet potato are favorites. And the bonus: Maca, Bee pollen, or whatever weird green stuff's my girlfriend buys. On cold days or when I'm just feeling chilled I throw in some ginger.

What Books are by Your Bed?

Perfect Brilliant Stillness: David Carse The Revolution A Manifesto: Ron Paul Sex, Ecology, Spirituality: The Spirit of Evolution : Ken Wilber Fiberglass Boat Repair Manual: Vaitse In search of lost time: Marcel Proust The Trillion Dollar Meltdown, Easy Money, High Rollers, and the Great credit crash: Charles Morris Currently picking my way through each of them. I tend to move through them slower in the winter and generally just accumulate a couple hundred pounds of books to be packed onto the boat. Where I'll spend my summer reading about a book a day while waiting for fish to hit the net.
