this parlay seems senseless no one, and i mean no one can give you understanding, enlightenment or freedom from yourself -
if this is the same group as the "yogic flying" and TM maharishi-mish-mash i wouldn't waste my time

having studied for 25 years (not that that means anything) the core "teachings of the Tao Ti Ching" seem to hold no reference to physical practice being a path to better understanding of the tao, yet it seems we assume once we attune our bodies we will understand the tao, what say the bums?
-
no path can lead to a living thing the unspoken tao is a living thing

sharp-nose "My menthor says there are four gods, and a fifth one, that few look for. Sex, Money, Power, Fame are the Four. The Real God is the Fifth. Everywhere i looked, serious male practicioners usualy look for, and succomb to the Third. And define an efficient path by that criteria." your nose is dull forgive my rudeness for pointing that out peace and happy pancakes, paul -

my zen master used to say "the cows are our friends" whatever.... i like milk

my point is simply this that mastery of the body is good but will never bring one to an understanding of ones self but it will bring good health so you can be a healthy ignorant or an unhealthy non-ignorant

but if you are your own master and own student? -
then i am sorry for you but you can still toss it off

http://www.taoist.org/english/lineage.php this seems to shed some light on the subject. however it seems the physical practice came later, that the "understanding" was available with or without the physical practice. the sage who understood the tao naturally leaned toward a healthy lifestyle, then this way of being was copied by followers. no matter, to this one, it is the actual contact that is important, i do no routine, yet i remain flexible and supple even at 58.

"Suspend belief to discover new ones." belief is doubt -
good thoughts, it is indeed a serious matter

well said but i would take it a step further the "core" of taoism is living and being it is available to everyman it is there in each of us to discover this thing (or not) the tao has no system or practice but is pure unto itself. unless i interprent '"tao" the unspoken' wrong but as it is within the realm of all possibilties that one can be deluded.. yes this is always present (murphys law: if things can go wrong they will) thus it is said know thyself, this is the most ancient of all "systems"
